Was so looking forward to seeing you but the most important thing is getting that darn shoulder fixed! Glad you were able to change your dates and get what you want...one of these years the stars will align and we'll all be there at the same time

I know, I wanted to meet up so bad!! I have changed my dates so many times now that I have to check myself to make sure I have them right .

I am still waiting to hear when I will see the new surgeon. I wish they would hurry up and get this over with because I am tired of not knowing .

I have never been good at waiting around for things, and this is really starting to weigh on my mind. I am getting really depressed waiting and hurting, hurting and waiting. Since Mardi Gras is over as of yesterday I am hoping to be hearing something and soon!! I never really knew just how much my job defined my life until I had not been working for so long. This is the longest I have been off work since I was 19, so almost 30 years . This may sound strange, but working gives me off days to look forward to. Does that make sense? So in other words not having anything to look forward to is a huge bummer. I know I have Disney, but I can't get excited about it because I have had to change it so much I am kinda skittish about getting too excited; I don't need anymore let downs .

No, still no word. I am starting to worry about the prolonged damage that may be caused by the delay. Muscle atrophy isn't anything fun to recover from either. I want to get this over with so I can start having a normal life again.

I did have a good time Sunday with Amanda, Matt and Dallas. I am going to post the pictures and give a mini report.

As I posted earlier I was going to spend Joe Cain day with Amanda and Matt; I did and we had a blast!!

Saturday's parades were rained out so they were rescheduled to run on Sunday along with the Joe Cain Processional. The news said the parades would start at 10:30 so we were up early. Dale, nor Tyler, wanted to go so it was just Dallas and me, along with Amanda and Matt. I drove over and picked Amanda and Matt up and we headed downtown.

We arrived at 9:45 and had to find a place to park. We ended up parking in the Battle House and River View parking garage and paying $20. That may sound like a lot, but it isn't anything compared to having your car towed. Mobile had really cracked down on parking on the streets and medians this year.

We walked over to Royal Street and found a good place to stand. Of course the street vender's were rolling around with their carts.

Now as anyone knows there is nothing more like vinegar and water than a boy and a street vendor; for a parent that is!! So of course Dallas had to have something from one of the carts, and of course I said yes. This is what he wanted----------

A jester hat........... He got more compliments on that crazy hat than I could count .

Well, as we are standing around waiting for the parades to start someone walks by and says "The parades aren't starting until 1:00" . What? Are you serious? Really? Oh yeah, our great city leaders decided that since it was Sunday they didn't want to interfere with Church. Really? How many of the beer guzzling, hooting, hollering hooligans does the city really think would be in church Sunday? So we decided to walk around and go get something to eat.

We ended up at Buck's Pizza(could you have guessed?) and ordered our lunch. I didn't get any pictures of the food, but we had a wonderful pepperoni pizza and bread sticks. I am really burned out on pizza as we have it every Friday night at my house, but this was a delicious pizza. Here are a couple of pictures I took in the restaurant.

The restaurant is in a very old building downtown, and has all the charm of old architecture.

After we ate we walked back over to where we were standing earlier, but the streets had become really crowded by now. We found a place to stand and started the waiting game. It was VERY cold because of the wind coming in off the water. Downtown Mobile is right on the water front!!

These guys were walking around handing out "Smile Jesus Love You" stickers.

I don't know if this girl had a basketball in her shirt of if she was just that......ummmmmmmm endowed, but she was parading up and down Royal Street before the real parades stated.....lol.

Then this guy comes by and says "Vendors clear the street, we have a escort coming through"........we're all thinking "Oh Yeah" the parades are starting..........Not so fast..........

The procession was of hundreds of motorcycles. I am not sure how many there were, but it had to be close to 500.

After all the motorcycles went by we started the waiting game again. Then finally...........wooooooooo hoooooooooo it is party time

Everyone along the parade route was clapping and yelling for these guys!!

After the Honorary Marshall's then the floats started. The first parade was the Floral Parade which is the Junior Court. These are all kids of the rich folks here in Mobile............lol.

At some time in the future she will likely be the Queen of Mardi Gras, but for now she is the Junior Queen.

Since the parade was canceled on Saturday only one band stayed in town for Sunday's parade.

I know this poor girl HAD to be freezing. It was really cold and windy during the parades.

Ok enough of the rich kids.........

I will post more, and the most important, later I have got to cook dinner!!

I agree with you on the muscle atrophy. That's what I'm going thru, only I can't grow them back. So....yea, get on their butts so they can get you fixed before it gets worse. I want to see ya'll in May!!!

Christie, it was cool to see how everyone reacted to them marching by. As I watched I wondered which one of them was always buzzing my house in the helicopter............

If I don't hear from my WC rep this week I am going to call her Monday and ask her if we can't hurry this up. It has been almost 3 months since I first told Dr. Roca about my shoulder.

My account is still doing something stupid I have been trying to get it to work all day and it keeps giving me an "Out of Memory Line 23" message and I keep restarting it, but it's not helping. I get so annoyed with photobucket, especially when paying for the headache . I know you have a Pro account too. It used to not be such a mess, but I guess more and more people use photobucket now and they haven't expanded their database.

Thanks! Joe Cain day has always been a big party day so all the drunks are a norm. It comes second only to Mardi Gras Day.

This guy was walking by and as we yelled at him he pointed up to Dallas and threw him the football; Dallas caught it with one hand . I think I need to put him in football.

OK photobucket is starting to act up AGAIN...........here is the last one I am going to post.

The group photo is of the majority of people at the party. The guy behind me holding up the two little balls is the CEO at my hospital...........

The party was catered and there were sandwiches, sliders, dessert cakes, drinks and an open bar.........yes, an open bar. Amanda and Matt had a glass of wine I just drank diet Coke. Amanda's boss was, how shall I put it, ummmmmmmmm three sheets to the wind.............

This is the first time I have ever been to Mardi Gras and caught so many beads. I bet we had 20lbs of beads.

We had a great time and boy was I give OUT when we got home.
