Oh, boy. I was derailed since Thursday by a nasty cold, couldn't even breathe enough to think about exercise. Managed 50 min today at the gym. Hopefully back in full swing tomorrow. I have minutes to make up! AH!

Finally! Ran for the first time since princess: 40 min.

100/700

Thank goodness for this challenge. I highly doubt ill make my goal, but we shall see. The cold I had really did me in!

did some abs, shoulders and thigh work today.

36 minutes total

over half way, still a little off pace but the goal is doable.

Yes! I have been meaning to do it for over a year but race training has always gotten in the way. I'm now a girl without a race so I'm doing it! I started on mar 1, then I got sick, so then I did day 2 yesterday. I'm going to do day 1 tonight (I hope) and tomorrow ill run instead of the cardio tape I think. Then back to days 1 and 2. What do u think so far? I was so sore from day 1 but day 2 was easier for me. Guess my backside muscles are stronger than my "front"!

Getting ready to update through post #153.

Collectively we are at 45%!! That is great!

Ran a 5K this morning! (On my treadmill, but still...) If I can do that now, I am less nervous about the Disney 5K in November. Feeling happy. Also other assorted strength exercises today.
If you are already going 5k, you should have no problems at all in November. :)

Finished week 3 of Runner 10k! This thread made me realize how sedentary I became this winter, with all of the polar vortex and snow days. Yikes!

460/1200
Congrats on that 10k progress!

Heading to bed a bit early tonight. Running my first race tomorrow morning. (That's a phrase I never thought I'd say!) It's a 3k. I'm excited and nervous, all in one!
Hope it went well!

Yesterday - a yoga for runners video (man, I'm inflexible) and thighs: 35 minutes

Today - what do you do with 14 inches of snow? (after you cry a little bit on the inside?) go snowshoeing! and thighs: 67 minutes

102 minutes

correcting a math error on my last post brings my tally to:

375/875
Ok, good. I was going to ask if there was an error, but I see you caught it. :)

I am at 1199/2014. Right on track, but mentally struggling.

We didn't get a lot of snow but enough to make it icy and for the second time this year I fell on the ice yesterday.:( I landed mostly on my side so my arm took most of the impact. The ice was gone by last night so we walked outside, but I seriously considered just skipping my mile and ending the ~14.5 months streak. But I did it. We actually went 3 miles. I guess sometimes you have to do things just because. I don't want to 'quit' something I have been doing for over a year at a 'weak' point but would rather make a conscious decision to stop/take a day off. Does that make sense?

Hope everyone is having a great week. :)

Seems like it is the opposite for me, I am more sore from day 2 than I was from day 1!!

I did the cardio today and I was totally exhausted afterwards. I run quite regularly, but this really challenged me more than my usual runs. I would suggest to give the cardio DVD a try! It changes a lot between high intensity exercises and then some that are a little slower, but it keeps you moving. She also incorporates a few exercises that have your arms working and I truly lack upper body strength, so I feel that this is a good way to mover your whole body in a cardio workout as opposed to running. I went for a run on the evening of the morning when I did day 1 and I am planning to use the rest days for a comfortable run and might add a few slower runs on workout days as well, just because it is nice to get out in the spring weather!

I really like it so far! I like how much different things you get to do, so it does not feel like it is getting repetitive and/or boring. Especially since you do every workout only 4 times before you move on to new stuff. However, I am a bit scared about Phase 3, she does make some comments about how it is easy the first two weeks!!

I am leaving for my cruise after week 6 and I guess I will restart once I am back from vacation. But this way I have my exercise routine planned out until August!! :thumbsup2

Yes that makes sense. I kinda feel that way right now because I did not have a fantastic PHM weekend (nothing major, just not a personal best) and I have no halfs on the horizon. I had a great Tink run, and I'm trying to remember that. In the meantime, I'm setting a new goal for myself of trying to strengthen my whole body more, and then a goal to work on my short-run times over the summer/fall. Maybe you just need a new goal. It's not quitting, it's re-evaluating. Is the mile/day still satisfying your original intent? If not, it might be time to refresh things with a new plan. :)

I would like to join in for the rest of the month if possible. I did this a few times last year and it really helped me. I'm going for 400 minutes for the rest of the month. Today we had our morning dance party 20/400

1004/1900
YEY 1,000 mark!! :thumbsup2

45 today, a 30 minute circuit work out, and 15 on the elliptical, raised my level up, which feels great!
