Unfortunately our plans for December had to change when DH took a new job recently. Our only option for a vacation now looks like March. I don't know if easter falls in March in 06. I don't believe it does. What should I know about March and the best dates to go in March. :confused3 Thanks.

Weather wise it is still a nice time of year. It hasn't gotten too hot and normally it is a dryer time of the year.

Easter is April 16, 2006.

March will be crowded with Spring Breakers, especially later in the month. If you are going to go in March I suggest you go at the beginning of the month.

Average highs in early March are in the upper 70s with mornings in the mid 50s. But weather is still changeable at that time of year...you may have some days well into the 80s and other days stuck in the 60s.

Thanks. I'll plan for a trip as early in March as possible and pack for mixed weather.

That sounds like a good plan!

We always go the first two weeks in March and think the crowds are low to manageable and the weather is USUALLY warm to very warm -- perfect if you ask me. This March (2005) we had a couple of cold rainy days -- we had to duck into the store on Main Street USA to get extra sweatshirts. Now when I wear mine I always think of the day we saw the afternoon parade on Main Street in the cold rain and how many characters came over to my boys to visit/dance/clown around because they were practically the only kids there!

It is true that this is spring break season, (we are on college spring break in March, which is why we go then) but my personal opinion is that spring breaks are so scattered throughout Feb-April that you don't need to plan to avoid one particular week (as in Dec 25-Jan 1) -- crowds kind of ebb and flow day to day.

If you can go the first week of March, it is great. That's when we went this year and we loved it. We started the day in a sweatshirt and jeans, and mid-day we took the sweatshirts off. Some days we could have worn shorts but I love jeans. The crowds were low, the temps were perfect, and there was one full day of rain during an eight day stay. There was also a day with a couple hours of rain, and we practically had the Magic Kingdom to ourselves. I would definitely go the first week of March again.
