March Check-In Thread!

I
I went before the renovations, so we are excited to see the new Club 33! We also want to get a new Christmas ornament as ours broke in a million pieces when our tree fell this year. :(
I bought an ornament too!! Not a club 33 one, just DL one. I try and get one to commemorate all our vacations :)

Getting geared up for my first solo trip, March 23rd-26th! So excited. I haven't been for 7 years. Gonna be weird to go without hubby and my 3 DDs, but I think it will be amazing to be able to go at my own pace and do what I want, when I want. My DH is the best for insisting I do this!

Today I got my 3 day parkhopper ($25 off through WAY.com), I booked dining packages for WOC (lunch at Wine Country Trattoria) and F! (dinner at Blue Bayou). Flights booked Monday, with free air miles from Alaska to SNA. Hotel booked, Desert Inn-- not fancy, but close, and all I need is a place to sleep and shower.

A trip by yourself- wonderful! My husband and I, before kids, were going about 4 times a year for a quick weekend.

This will be our daughters 4th trip, and she is just over 3 years old. We are creating a Disney/Disneyland fanatic! We hope one Christmas to buy Annual Passes and go as often as week can. I am so excited to go again in 3 weeks. Our last trip in November our DD LOVED the characters, and it made the trip so much fun to see her excited.

Told the boys about our surprise trip as I mentioned earlier. I always suspected a surprise trip, even with a week's notice, would not go well as my kids are too oblivious, LOL. My DS was, like "Oh cool, you got me a Disney birthday shirt...I will wear it to school." Me: You won't be in school, you will be somewhere else...can't you guess?" Him:....(crickets)... Me: "What does your shirt say?" Him: "It says "celebrating my birthday in Disneyland...why does it say that?"

Derp. The other two caught on, just a wee bit sooner. They just seemed mostly confused and my oldest was mad because he loves planning like I do (I expected that reaction, just not their puzzlement, LOL). Hopefully, now that I can drag out all the stuff and pack, the excitement will sink in!

Ha! That's hilarious.

We're home from a wonderful, amazing, and fantastic 5 days at DLR!! The rain only put a little dent in our plans, and we more than made up for lost time later in the week! I was so sad to check out of the GCH and head home. :( Although I did miss DH and our cat... and my own pillow! :teeth:

Can't wait to hear all about your trip!

I told my DD (3) this morning that in 3 weeks we would be having lunch and dinner with Mickey. She is very excited! Now if the 3 weeks would hurry up already! :)

How did you like GCH? Have you stayed at other on-site hotels? I stayed at GCH this time, but think I may like DLH better.

Hi, everyone! We're getting really excited over here, two weeks to go! The time's going to go by fast because we're all reallllly busy for the next two weeks. I decided I'm going to Disneybound for one day as Honey Lemon from Big Hero 6!! I have almost everything I need for it except my headband, which I'm getting today. I already wear glasses almost identical to hers, so it seemed the perfect choice! I'm super excited about that haha :D

I've never stayed at the other on-site hotels at DLR. I did stay at Wilderness Lodge at WDW, so perhaps the similarities between that and GCH are why I really fell in love with it this trip! DS adored it as well, and he says it was worth it to save up longer between trips so we could stay there again. Our only complaint (and it was a minor detail) was that our room was right under the Concierge lounge, so it was noisy at 10pm and 5am when they were cleaning & setting up the lounge. Otherwise, it was a wonderful, wonderful visit and I really wish I was still there! I feel like I've got a Disney vacation hangover!

I miss having an after park closing drink in the hearthstone lounge! I had to teach myself to make their raspberry ginger mojitos for my last night of vacation (at home)...lol

I may have to try that one! Mmmm...

Hearthstone Lounge is my favorite lounge on any US Disney property. Yum, I love any mojito...they used to make a great blackberry one there. Definitely trying the raspberry ginger one!
