March Check-In Thread!

I didn't expect to like Big Hero 6 as much as I did. People were saying they cried and I thought, uh...that's strange. Until I saw it, and I totally cried too! Such a good movie, I'm glad I let my DD talk me into seeing it while it was still playing. Now she says we have to buy it lol.

Me too, it made me cry! I didn't expect it to be so great either, but I thought it was better than Frozen, which is saying a lot for me, 'cause I love Frozen :D Planning on buying it the day it comes out! I'm really bummed they took out the meet and greet though. Normally our family isn't one for character meet and greets, but we would have loved to do that one.

Everyone in my family adored Big Hero 6. I have already preordered it from Amazon (we are the weird people still purchasing blu rays)...was going to put it in an Easter basket but may give it to my DS for his birthday so they can watch it on the plane.

We're buying the DVD too, we like to have physical copies for some reason.... My family's been quoting it ever since we saw it! :D (hence my new avatar and tagline haha)

I loved Big Hero 6! I HAD to go to the Disney Store to pick up a Baymax plush for myself. Oh yeah, I got a replacement Woody plush for my son as well. :P

Mine is also a BH6 reference but I have to get to a real computer to adjust the image...he is saying "hairy babies!" In it, LOL

Extended forecast is now saying possible rain for our first day. I have never been there during rain! It's probably the ONLY vacation I can say that about. Might bring along ponchos just to be prepared. My stroller doesn't have a rain cover though so that could be a problem! :/ I would think it doesn't rain like crazy, and we will still try to have a blast, but it gets tricky having a little one with you!

I used a dollar store poncho over our stroller when we used one, worked great in a pinch! Just tie the hood to a handle with something so it doesn't blow off or get stolen.

I am trying to decide whether to bring packable rain jackets for the family (I would have to get one for my oldest so I need to decide before our weather forecast becomes accurate). The weather history shows rain isn't uncommon during our days but it looks like the accumulated precipitation is really pretty slight.

If it does rain, all the Californians will be dancing and cheering in it! This drought is miserable. We've had so many days when the forecast said it *might* rain, and then it never materializes. :sad2::sad: I'm skeptical of any forecast now that says rain, unless it's actually falling from the sky at that moment! :umbrella:

I think I will remain skeptical and just plan that it won't rain. :). I wouldn't mind a bit if it did either, maybe locals will choose to dance and cheer at home and not at the parks, LOL.

Last time I went in March, forecasts showed rain all three of my park days, right up until the day we went. We never got a drop. Actually, it was sunny & warm. Perfect! I wouldn't get too disappointed yet

I'd love for it to be rainy to be honest. Being from Oregon, it doesn't bother us, and it sends Californians home! Our friends were there during a rainy day and they said there were hardly any lines anywhere! :D

I Don't mind a little rain either. I am from California & know we desperately need it, low(er) crowds would be a bonus. However, if rides star shutting down, Im not so happy...

That's my hope. Just enough rain, or threats of rain, to keep people away. Not enough to close anything else.

Our trip is less than two weeks away & I've completely failed at planning. I haven't planned a single meal, no park strategy, no character meets... I feel like a failure this go around

I haven't even booked the cheap motel to break our drive there in two

No time like the present! lol.

I was working on our Disneyland day strategy (only doing one park per day) and I'm completely second guessing myself. I want to do the Fantasyland rides, but I don't know if we should go to Fantasyland first or not. My top priorities are Indiana Jones, Jungle Cruise, Fantasmic FP and Space Mountain and Star Tours. I just don't want to wait in line forever for the dark rides if we don't hit them first, because I remember them always being so backed up, but now I wonder if with the castle being blocked off and Peter Pan being down, if people aren't just heading to other lands first? Decisions, decisions...
Although now that I think about it, maybe we can do them at night, after we've done our must do's since the park is open til midnight.

Thoughts?

9 glorious days left! :flower1: 5 more days of work for me 2 this week & 3 next!

I think fantasy land is always busy with families with little tots, but I think a late evening plan is good, because most little tots won't last into the wee hours.

This weekend adgenda: pack, shop for some summer items for DD, hair cuts. Next week get nails painted, stop to bank before trip....so excited it's almost here! pixiedust:

I love that we have the same countdown! My hubby has 6 more days of work though! :P
We will for sure be hitting fantasyland first. And maybe dumbo first. I keep imagining that being my sons first ride....I don't know why!
Not really doing much else for the trip this week. We will do laundry shortly before we leave next week....so all my packing will be crammed in to a day or two. Our 11th anniversary is tomorrow so we are headed out to dinner! Can't wait for that.
