Hi all, back last week from 4 days on the Wonder and 5 days at SSR. Here are some highlights, but I will be brief and feel free to ask any questions:
Overall weather was great.
Rented a car from Budget, except for the slow process at the airport, the service was great. We dropped off by the cruise terminal and it worked wonderfully. The staff at the terminal location were top notch both on drop off and when I picked up a new car at the end of the trip.
Stayed 2 nights at Comfort Inn Cocoa Beach. Great location, hotel was sub-par for the money we paid. Should have stayed at POP or something. We liked being close to the beach and Ron Jons but the motel was very dirty compared to my other experiences with this brand.
Wonder was spectacular.
>We had a Deck 2 cabin and were cruise newbies.
>We had EARLY diner sitting, 5:30 pm. This was a bit of a rush to get ready but worked out well with DD (18 months)
>The amount of food bordered on obscene. I have never been so full for so long.
>Tons of character opportunities.
>Castaway Cay was the highlight of the trip
>I am speechless to describe Animators Palette .spectacular does not quite do it.
>Missed Pirate night because DW got some sort of 6 hour stomach flu I got it a few days later, she was better in about 12 hours but had to stay in our cabin for the last day of the cruise. In spite of this Disney did a great job, sending up our meal from the restaurant, extra room service, movies, magazines etc. Since it was the last day of the cruise, it was not a big deal she enjoyed sleeping in and watching Disney flicks on the TV. DD and I ran the ship and had a good time. Pirate night is the big miss out from this, all 3 of us had costumes.
>One criticism, although the wait staff was good at entertaining little ones, I am surprised they did not have a high-chair or childrens cutlery available for us when we should up for our dinner sitting.
>Booked for next year to celebrate my 40th.
After 4 nights on the Wonder we went to our first stay at SSR and a short trip to WDW.
>It was great, SSR grounds are very nice and the pool was very good for our little one.
>We had a DTD view, which was great but a little noisy since it was St Patricks day.
>Got a ground floor and forgot that this was Florida, a few creepy crawlies got in one day.
Parks:
>Rode EE 3 times, it is a fantastic experience. I am sure that there are longer faster rides but the total Disney package on this one is awesome.
>We only did AK and then went to Wishes for the evening. Crowds seemed heavy but Disney was running at full capacity and had extra hours all night during March break.
>AK on Sunday was not that crowded. DD loved all the animals and Festival of the Lion King.
> One other night we were there we went to Poly and saw the fireworks and Electric Water Pageant. The Pageant was disappointing, we couldnt hear the music and it did not seem to actually move along the beach. I am wondering if it has gone downhill or if there were problems that night. Good view of Wishes, but no music.
Other:
>The renovations at World of Disney seem to have really dropped the inventory at that store, although we were there in October so I got my fair share of Disney stuff.
>ME worked well for the return trip to MCO.
Flew Westjet for the first time. Thought the in-flight service was great, they did not seem very efficient in check in on either end. Didnt know how to check my car seat.
