March 6th, 2010 7 Night Western

Was the water pretty warm back in Feb-March 2009?

nah, it was chilly for me anyway. I went in the water the most in Grand Cayman. Cozumel the water was cold and kind of rough with big waves, and at Castaway Cay the water was chilly, went in, but not much. It was sunny and great weather though not hot, but not cold. Windy on deck during sea days though

On your signature it shows that you were on a Disney cruise last year in March. How was the weather then?

<

The weather was really nice. No rain, temp was hot but the water temp at Castaway was still ice cold it didn't stop us from snorkling but we could only stay in so long after we go it because of how cold it was. I'm from Florida so I'm used to warm water and have a hard time getting into cold water. I have a pool at my house and won't get in it until it's nice and warm!!:confused3

Joey will be 13 weeks when the cruise starts!

He's a little guy and we are a bit apprehensive about taking him.

He's already over a month old now and is a tough little guy and healthy as a horse so we're getting a little less worried. We still probably won't leave the boat in Mexico or Grand Cayman.

He just loves looking at everything so even though he won't remember the trip, I'm sure he will love the new surroundings. We'll certainly cherish every minute.

I think this will be a good vacation for all of you. Away from all the daily hassels of cooking and cleaning to just realx and enjoy each other!! GOOD LUCK!! I hope he will treat you well on the cruise.

I'm trying to talk the mom of the 5 month old that I watch now to take him on a cruise, she is going to do it after he gets his flu shots she says.

He won't remember but make sure you take lots of pictures so he can remember by photos!

Looks like the Feb 27th magic sailing before ours just started getting their room assignments!!:cool1:

awesomeeeee.....I hope that I get some pixie dust! I have a houseful of sick people so I will take any good news that I can get:worship:

Hello all, I am new to the board and we very excited to be going on our first disney cruise (1st cruise actually) on March 6th. :yay: We have two boys 10 and 8. Any tips plus ideas for excursions from the veterans would be greatly appreciated. I have been visiting the site for a few days and found some interesting things about door magnets and something called fish extenders. I am up for anything. I just want to make this trip the most memorable for them as I can. Thanks in advance,
Holly

Welcome!! We are doing the FE exchange for this cruise so if you want to participate contact leetahtx and you will be added to the list. It's very fun!!

A few things:

1. There are no inside cabins left for our cruise! I'm not sure what this means....but we obviously have a lot of people still in GTY status. Do I dare think about upgrades to CAT 9.......

2. Those looking for excursion ideas:

- Key West: Very accessible for just doing your own thing. There is a trolly tour and plenty of stuff within walking distance. Certainly an option to think about.

- Cozumel: Chankanaab park is WONDERFUL. Its a short $10 cab ride from the pier. I have personally been here and highly recomend it. http://www.cozumelparks.com/

I'm still seeing the Cat 10 inside rooms on the DCL website. It seems like now when you go to book any cat room they are all GTY does that mean they hold aside the cats that they might upgrade the gty 12's to? So they don't double book?

Ooh...there weren't up last night! But I'll take a CAT 10 no prob!

Anyway, there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for how they do things.

The fact that everything is now GTY is interesting.

We'll know soon enough!

Yes that's what I thought of how everything is gty now.:confused3 Maybe that means upgrades are in the future and they don't want to over book the ship so they take down the select a room for the other cats?

Just looked and there are no inside or oceanview rooms as of 5:00 today but could change tomorrow.

I'm seeing 10's now...but now oceanviews expect for verandahs...

Curious indeed.

This is my 4th Disney cruise and I have never seen things this crazy!

they must be doing the cabin assignments for the cats and availablilty to shift this much during a 24 hours period:confused3

Me too! Although really, I don't care. It's just the two of us so a cat 12 will be fine. But boy, if we got upgraded it sure would be well appreciated!! :goodvibes Our previous cruises are in a cat 10 (SPH 5020!), and cat 5. For the cat 5, we had booked a cat 10 SPH room and upgraded at the port. Unfortunately I don't have the money for an upgrade this time!! I'm just happy to go.

A local radio station was broadcasting this morning from Castaway Cay on the Wonder!! It's pretty funny to have an LA radio station reporting from the Wonder. The kids and I were listening... and I was so excited that I'll be back there soon!! My kids have to wait until November. :rolleyes1

Cruise date is coming closer :thumbsup2:cool1:

It is cold and rainy here and I cannot wait to start a vacation! I am going to close the FE on 2\12. That will be three weeks before we leave. Please go out to the information and add your cabin once it gets assigned, the sex of your kids and your real names. Some people put that on the gifts. I finally decided what I am going to do :yay: See everyone soon!

I have a 6 year old BOY and a 4 year old GIRL.

I am definately curious of genders.....I have a lot of little things-but many are gender specific.

So now that's it's getting closer I'm just curious how many plan to dress up on formal and semi formal night? DBF is planning on buying a suit for formal night and I bought a nice long dress and have a vest for DBF for semi formal night and I'm going to buy a short cocktail dress for me. Anyone else taking advantage and dressing up?princess:
