March 6th, 2010 7 Night Western

I hated that Liz had to cancel too. As far as the FE I don't think anyone has taken it yet. We have never cruised DCL before so I have no idea what it is and am hoping someone will take it.

Well I'll try taking over it if we go, I'll know if we are really going to go or will have to cancel after i get back from my cruise this week. Yup that is right I will be going on the Disney Wonder Thursday of this week the 10th. Leave tomorrow for Universal and then 3 night cruise then Sunday till Tuesday morning at Disney World. I'm pretty sure we will decide while on the trip if we will be doing this one. W've taken so many this year we don't know if we should or not, if no one else takes over before then I will be glad too since we are doing a FE this trip and I know how it works:goodvibes

any other college aged people on this cruise?:cool1:

My daughter and two of her friends will be going and they are Juniors in college.
My son is a First year law student at ND, and his girlfriend will meet us there.

We are from TN and my son will be flying in from IN, his girlfriend from Atlanta, and the rest of us from NE TN.

nice, well hopefully they will attend to college club meet on the cruise last time when I went in Feb/March met a lot of college age people. Look forward to meeting you all though:cool1:

I don't think that there are too many people on this cruise yet because there are still cheap Cat. 12 rooms.

If there are not many on the cruise does that mean anything as far as upgrades for the rest of us or anything. My luck they will ower the price after the payoff date so we cant cancel and rebook at lower rate lol.

Ok fellow cruisers, I thought it over and I would like to take over the FE list from Lollipop. This is my first cruise and FE so I would gladly take input on how to execute it once we are the ship! I might not be able to keep up the website but I can post the active list up on this board everytime I update it.

DMMarla07860, I know you were interested in doing the FE. If you are still going, do you want to share?

You can take over it, no prob about that, if I am going which we are leaning towards going since it is my birthday over this trip, I can help you out if you need any help at all with it. I pm'd you telling you this:goodvibes

Hopefully it means that we ALL get upgrades. I have been watching the prices for some time and I think that they will not go much lower on the Cat. 12 even after the 75 day mark. They are at $739 per person now. About the lowest I have seen has been $689 so not much difference.

Count me in!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I just booked this cruise tonight... wahoo!! This will be our 3rd DCL cruise. We just got off the Magic in November, did an Eastern to St. Croix. On that cruise we brought our 2 kids, and both sets of grandparents! THIS time it will just be DH and I. We were looking for a trip to celebrate his 40th birthday. We looked at some cruises out of California (where we live), but we have already done the Mexican Riviera a couple years ago on another line (and will do again in 2011 with the kids, when the Wonder comes to LA!). For about the same price as another line we could book the cat 12 room and get to be back on the MAGIC that we love!! For the $739 price it was a done deal. Plus, we get to do a Western which we haven't done before, so yay!!!

I am so excited to have another chance to get back on the Magic. I could never have imagined it would be this soon, otherwise I would have rebooked it onboard.

I've never cruised in an inside room before though... we had a SPH on our first cruise, and upgraded from a SPH to a cat 5 at the port last month. :woohoo:This time around though, no money for an upgrade!! haha. Since it is just the two of us I think we will be fine. I admit I am surprised that there are still cat 12's available, and every category available for this cruise.

We did our first Western Cruise back in May and loved it. Hopefully with all of the Cat. 12 rooms still selling that we may get an upgrade. That is the way it was back in May. They sold a lot more Cat. 12 reservations than there were actual Cat. 12 rooms so a lot of people got upgraded. We went from a 12 to 9.

I am looking for a few more people to go on the Native Way Tour in Grand Cayman, snorkeling on the Reef and then lunch at Rum Point. $57 thru Native Way Water Sports.

Question of the Day!

On my last meets thread we did a question of the day as it got close to cruise time. It was fun to hear about everyone's thoughts and got everybody posting and excited. So I'll kick us off:

What's your favorite shipboard activity?

My favorite thing to do is sit in the sun at the Quiet Cove pool, feet in the water, tropical drink in my hand, listening to the music...:cloud9:

I also really enjoyed the tequila tasting on our last cruise and want to try the wine tasting this time. Anyone see a pattern here...?:rotfl2:

I love a casual stroll or sitting on a chair on deck 4. Its great on sea days or port days!

Rockin Bar D at night with a cold beer is a close second!

(Ok, and wings with said cold beer in Diversions is third!)

Hi! :wave2: We are the Newman family and we just changed our cruise from Oct to this one! It will be Amanda (31)-me, Scott (33)-DH, Sydney (13) DD, Abby (8) DD, Travis (6) DS, and Trevor (6) DS.

If anyone has a DD that will be around 8 or 13 who would like to email back and forth on here with DDs that would great! That way they feel like they know someone in the club onboard:thumbsup2

Hi Newman Family!
I'm new to DisBoards, but not new to Disney. And, we're practically neighbors! We live in Roanoke! My DS, Adam, is 12 and my DD is 9 and her name is Abby too!
This is our first Disney cruise, but we've done WDW "a lot!" My DD is a bit nervous not knowing anyone!
Happy Planning!

Hi Everyone!
New to DisBoards! :yay: And have enjoyed seeing who is going on this trip!
We're sort-of first time cruisers. Our one and only cruise was the Disney cruise on the "Big Red Boat" back in 1991--pre kids! Me, my DH (David) and DS (adam, 12) and DD (Abby, 9) will be cruising. We are so excited. Booked this a year ago and can't believe it is approaching.
We're big Disney fans (been to WDW 9 times in the last 9 years!).:woohoo:

But I can't figure out what this "fish extension" thing that I keep reading about. Can someone shed some light on this?

Not on facebook...don't have the time for that!

The first place to start is in the FAQs at the top of the main cruise discussion board. Here is the link
FAQs for Disney Cruise forums

Just search for "fish" on that page. There is a "Fish Extender 101" thread with pictures.

We have also been to Disney World several times and the Western Cruise we took last May was our first. I also think that it was one of our best vacations ever.
