March 6th, 2010 7 Night Western

Hey Everyone! We are going to be sailing with you all - along with our exchange student daughter (17 yr old from Italy) and an American friend of hers (also 17 yrs old). We can't wait! We just got off the 3-night cruise to the Bahamas and I think we now have her hooked on Disney Cruise Line!! We were lucky enough to get one of the pin codes for kids 17 and under sailing for free, so...we decided her "big trip" of the year would be to go on a 7 night cruise (ok, in reality that was the excuse so we could sail again!) Can't wait!!!!

I was wondering - how can we get on the FE exchange? We will be in stateroom 2000. It's hubby and I and the 2 girls. Would love to be included. Thanks!!

Welcome aboard!
I am doing the FE thing....so email me at liz72@shaw.ca with your names, disboard name, ages and cabin number!

Sounds great more people for the FE!! Yay! I hope that it won't be too much more crowed. more room for us:rotfl:

The more the merrier. This cruise is actually getting close. We'll be on that ship in no time.

I love seeing new cruisers join in here!!!! Welcome aboard...we also have a facebook group too if you want to join there also!

OMG everyone I just realized March 7th is OSCAR NIGHT! I have posted on the main board to see if DCL does a party or anything! I would LOVE it if they put it on the goofy screen outside - imagine sitting in a lounge chair in the middle of the ocean watching the Oscars??? Would it get any better than that? (well for some it might, but for us thats just magical!)

That would be fun. I wonder is any Disney movies will be up for any awards.

I imagine UP will be "up" for at least best animated picture....maybe The Princess and the Frog. Perhaps A Christmas Carol.....

It was on last year, funny that the date that it is on in 2010 is the date I got off my back-2-back cruise in 2009, will have been a year lol:lmao:

I just booked this cruise for seven of us. I think that all of us will be able to go but I will not put up any details until I know for sure.
Booked three Cat. 12 rooms. It seems there are several available. We have three people in one room. You could actually get a Cat. 12 with four people in it for $739 for the first two and $699 for the others. I am sure if you do that you get bumped up to a Cat. 11.
How many people on this cruise date are in a Cat. 12 ? When we went in may there were about 30 people booked in the Cat. 12s. Since there are actually about 13 Cat. 12 rooms everyone else got upgraded. We had two rooms and went to a Cat. 9.

.

Going to make the final payment tonight so I can book my 18 hours of child care. Any suggestions on on the best way to use the hours?

how did you get 18 hours of childcare? Did you have to pay extra for that? How old is the child you are booking time for? Our daughter will be 3 when we sail and our son will be 5.

I thought I read somewhere that you get 18 hours to pre-book before you get on the boat. Maybe I am wrong on the amount?

For kids under 3, you can put them in flounders for a $6 per hour fee and for kids over 3, they have kids clubs that are no additional charge.

so the 18 hours is free if you pre book? Let me know if you have any luck and if it is actually true!

Both your kids are old enough to be in the oceaneer club which is free.

I was worried about Lauren not being "totally" potty trained. She still needs some help at times getting dressed again. Maybe by March all will be good.

I see. Sometimes it clicks right at the right time. Hopefully by the cruise she'll be all set!

Just thought I'd share a little thing I am doing to get a little extra money to put towards all our on board charges.

When we return bottles and cans at the grocery store we get llittle slips from the machine or the counter. I am saving them-they don't expire. I was initially just saving them and was going to cash them in and just set that money aside until I made a nice little discovery.

Our local Wegmans (grocery store) sells Disney gift cards on one of those gift card displays. (I've seen these displays at many stores in the past) So everytime I get $25 in return slips I am going to take them in and buy gift cards-this way I KNOW that money is going towards the trip. I was so happy to see these there.

So that is another option to keep your eyes open for if you are trying to set aside a little extra money for March. Every little bit helps! Hope this helps someone else out too!:thumbsup2

Pretty sure we will be on this cruise. We had a Disney Cruise House party this last weekend. It was a lot of fun.
Keeping us on the front page. haha

How many people do we have that are in a Cat. 12 room? I have three reserved. I think that there are only 13 Cat. 12 rooms available.

I think you have a decent upgrade shot from a cat 12 on this cruise. They have been selling those $739 cat 12s for a long time now. I notice main seating is STILL available on this cruise, which is another sign it is not full at all. I am surprised, as this is spring break for us, but maybe we are just a lot earlier than others?
Most cruises have main seating long gone even 6-8 months out. Last year I booked my January 2009 cruise about 7 months out and main seating was gone and we were waitlisted!
