March 6, 2011 Mexican Riviera aboard the Wonder

Since we are now doing two days at Cabo, I think my wife and I are going to keep the whale watching tour/excursion we have planned on day 6 (since that's a short day anyway and we have to be back on the ship by 1:30). On day 5, our first day in Cabo, we were thinking of touring on our own -maybe going to the glass factory, then going into town, checking out Cabo-Wabo, etc., and if there is time, taking one of the water taxis out by the dock out to the arches, etc.Given that we don't have to be back on the ship that day until 6:30 or 7 pm, there's plenty of time to explore?

Is there anyone who may be interested in splitting a taxi and joining us on a trip to the glass factory and shopping/exploring in town? If so, we'd love to pair up with you! Just PM me here.

Also, since people are saying they weren't notified by Disney about the change, I will tell you that as a TA, it took about 4 days for Disney to send an email out to travel agents, citing the decision to pull out of Mazaltan based on "several incidents". By that time, most TA's already knew, lol! The email did say that all passengers would receive some sort of notification, however, so I am sure that is coming soon. Disney is also allowing passengers that want to, to move their payment to a different cruise, and for those staying on board, you will have the option of spending overnight in Cabo off the ship at your own expense, if you so choose.

We just need the specifics of whoever is participating so how many adults, children, ages, first names are good, and stateroom number. Each family is assigned a specific day to deliver their gifts to the other staterooms. It is up to each family to decide what exactly they want to give- no real restrictions. It's not usually anything expensive, just keep it fun. Something that pertains to your home state or city is always nice too, but not a requirement. Some people do crafty items, magnets, candy, CDs, toys, etc. If you do a search in the DCL area of disboards, you'll get lots of examples. I'm assuming you know what an FE is and that you have one too. Again, do a search and you'll find lots of good info.

If you check your planning center online, it now gives port times. We will be in Cabo on the 10th (11:15am to 7pm) and 11th (7:15am to 2:30pm).

Looks like the port times question was answered --as to the other matter, where some cruises are doing Cabo, PV, then Cabo, that's because Disney set them up that way. Not really sure why...but select MR cruises have that itinerary, and then others, including ours, are doing the back to back days in Cabo, which I think is better.

This is really frustrating. I was doing planning last night in my planning center on Disneycruise.com and my port times are listed as 7:30am-4:30pm for the 10th. Seems like the only for sure right now is the 11th.

Ok, I finally got the updated itinerary to show up in my planning center. Relief! Did book a whale watching in Cabo on day 6. If all works out, day 5 in Cabo will be beach day.


Here's the breakdown so far (not yet including Panstinkerbell or their friends/family because I don't have their details yet):

17 total families (assuming Chrissy's 2 staterooms equals 1 family)

32 adults, 24 kids consisting of 14 girls and 10 boys (I have included Bellecruiser's 20 yr DS with the kids- hopefully I'm not offending him)

We have 18 staterooms so far on all decks I believe so we should have 2-3 stateroom deliveries each day. Anyone have day requests or should I just start assigning?

Last, do we want a meet and greet somewhere on day 1? Suggestions?

I am getting so excited next month we are going cruising!
We would like to do our stateroom delivery on day 1 or 2 if possible.
I suggest a meet and greet on deck 7 aft sun deck it is a wonderful secluded place to meet.

We are still trying to decide what to do at cabo and what day. One of the days we want to visit the glass factory and just bum around. I just wish I knew for sure what hours we are in port on the 10th. Looks like the port times keep changing.

I definitely want to do a group meet on day 1! I never knew about that spot on Deck 7 (just looked on the map). I can see why it's probably quiet. On my two previous cruises we met in the Promenade Lounge, but I'm open to trying a new place.

What time do you want to meet?

We would like to delivery on Tuesday. I think a meet and greet would be great. When do they allow us near the cabins and that area on deck 7 on the first day? I vote for anywhere that is not near the pools and other heavy traffic areas.

So much to do and now it feels so close. Just four weekends left and those are just about fully scheduled with children's events. After almost a year of waiting...we are so close now.

We will be in cabin 2104. This trip it is just my hubby and I. Our daughter decided not to go.

I did see exactly what a FE is and I'm already working on ideas to make one. I'm also thinking about what goodies to give.

I agree it is all over the place with when and were we will be going. I've got PV on the 9th and CSL on the 10th and 11th. No times were available.

We are booked for the Dolphin swim in PV and are unsure about what we will do at Cabo at this time. We had scheduled the Horseback ride but may change.

It is getting closer! I'm starting to get summer clothes organized for the trip.

And now we can really make our FE gifts! I don't have a strong preference for our FE day, except that I hope it can be a day when we are not in PV. That's our busiest day.

I too would like and FE get together...Deck 7 stern was a wonderful spot last cruise, but anywhere is fine.

I wonder when they will open up the 2nd Cabo day to schedule excursions?

In about 7 Hours it will be four weeks/ 28 days until we leave our driveway and start the trip to California. Evan thinks I am going to be disappointed because I am planning and looking forward to this so much. I think that he is going to be happy that I got all of the planning done in advance so I am not freaking out running around on the ship the first day making reservations. I do check the DISBOARDS everyday so maybe I am a little OCD about this.

Not alone at all! I'm on here every day looking for trip reports, excursion reviews, news and other info. Every time my wife asks a question about the trip, I alway say, "Hold on, I've got people that can do that research for us." and then check the boards

I'm also checking the reservation every day just in case our staterooms or itinerary change again. Obsessive much?

DW & I are doing the whale watching in Cabo on Day 6 as well. Are you doing the Disney excursion? If so, see you on board! Day 5 I think we were just going to go into town, we want to do the glass factory, see Cabo-Wabo, etc. I'm looking for other people that might want to come with!

A meet and greet on the first day sounds fun, I agree!

As to the FE list, I'd like to do it on the first day if possible. My wife has never cruised, and its been awhile since I've been on the Wonder, so it would be good for us to kind of explore the ship and get our bearings this way!
