We were at the same one....it was a mess. People were standing everywhere and pushing/shoving thru the crowd, standing in front of people sitting in chairs...etc. We sat near the door and got to the show early. After the guy nearly crushed a duck and small child we got out of there before something worse happened. It was a MESS!!
I was going to write Disney about that and encourage them to move it to Bueuna Vista Theater during peak show weeks. That space is very underutilized and could handle such a show better.
Also writing to ask that they make the whole starboard side smoke free (including on verandas). I was the SECOND veranda from the front and still had it ruined by smoker in the first veranda.
Really annoyed me i paid for that space to have it ruined by smoker. The ship officer I spoke with said this is a growing issue for Disney and we might see that going forward. Sorry for you smokers but the second hand stuff is really awfull.
We did Western last year. Better than Eastern. We did snorkel at Key West (say octopus, lobster, lots of fish --- great fun). Did Stingray at Cayman (non-disney and great -- i've got contact if you need). And did Tulum in Mexico. Tulum was WONDERFUL. My DD 12 and DS 10 did great and loved it too.
Please to write letters (got from officer before leaving):

You should have been in the hallway for that Freddy Fusion Show.
At one point they had every officer out there. It was ugle and the people that were leaving were upset because of all the others inside pushing and shoving.
We were going to go and decided to go to diversions and eat instead. But in the short time we were there we heard all the compalints and saw different officers walking people away trying to calm them down.
They were saying they were going to try and get him to do another show.
Actually one of the people we were sailing with is friends with "Freddy Fusion"
I am sorry you had that problem with your Verandah. That really sucks because you were so excited to get that room.
We still had a great time and got to use it sometimes.
Interesting on the show. DW and I always b-lined for seats. Being past cruisers we know the ship well and be lined from show to show to get best spots (usually haven't had to do that in past but clearly crowded this cruise --- spring break)....\
We were amused that by end of cruise others had learned to make the move fast too (alas... the masses do learn after awhile). But for first three nights we sailed to seats easily.
Most interesting part was I commented to DW before show that we must be violating fire laws (we had seats). DW said we were at sea so may be different rules but I think Disney keeps high standards and was concerned. I'm actually glad to hear they had the officers there, but as I said, I think they should use different venue in the future. It certainly was the most crowded I'd seen that room (it's so often just empty).
A week ago today we were getting soaked on castaway cay I was disappointed then, but as I look back we still had a great time that day. It was fun just hanging out playing games. I often get caught in in excursions and going here/there to see it all that the "rainy" days are sometimes just as much or more fun. Anyway...I must be getting old
Only 51 more weeks till my next cruise, and 8 months till xmas at disney!
