March 31-April 7, 2007 Eastern...3rd try :-)

anyone else checking in onboard?

we have our sealegs and we are keeping busy. Had Palo Brunch today and it was as good everyone says.

ps17 checking here from Cove Cafe (11:30 Monday). It's getting nice outside right now so we're moving back out to the pool area. Enjoy the rest of your trip

Welcome home everyone. We are are unpacked. We are in the process of washing out dirty stuff.

I tried to find everyone at the Dismeet, but had no luck...naybe I was standing next to one of you.

Dpuck-I got your message on my door, but I did not know what room you were in. Sorry, I had your stuff with me all week.

Hope everyone had a great week.

We had a great week despite the Castaway Cay washout and a return to a cold US mainland with sub-20 degree weather here in MN. I just heard that there was a bomb scare on the ship today (Saturday) and that the ship and terminal required a lock down/evacuation. Supposedly, as of 6:30, the ship has not even sailed yet. Too bad for those sailing (they're off to cold start)

Anyhow, we'll write a trip report a little later, but bottom line is that it was great (so great that we booked the same trip for next year while onboard). Hope the rest of you had a good time and trip back home as well.

We had a great time too! I'll try to write a trip report after I get through the mounds of laundry.

Yeah, that rude awakening back her in MN - my feet were mighty chilly in flip flops!

Sorry we didn't get to meet any of you. One day, I overheard a mom say "which line do you want to go in, Delaney?" up at Topsiders (I think the mom was blond!) but by the time the name registered, i was halfway down to Deck 7. Was that you, Delaney's mom?

My large family was at the Sailaway party but on port side. I looked across to starboard side during the party and saw a family sitting at a table with red polos on. Was that you, cruisecrzy?

If anyone was at Palo Wed. night at 7, our group was at the Captain's table in the center of the room. Awesome meal!

We rebooked for same time next year but may have to move it out a year depending on DD's choir tour. We'll see...

I miss my ship already. Maybe the Easter bunny will do turndown tonight!

cruisecrzy, your door looked awesome..I was way down on deck 1
so not many people visited me ;-)

We didn't meet any DIS'ers, but apparently I was within 10 feet of Minniesota. We were sitting right next to you on Wednesday around 7:30 pm. I was wearing a yellow dress shirt and gold mickey tie I had to buy at the store since I forgot my sport coat. I was too busy starting at the table next to you with one of the couples from the "Newlywed" type game at Rocken Bar D from the night before. I did see your group though! I don't remember anyone specifically though...sounded like you had a great time though.

We tried to stick it out on castway cay as much as possible. We went ashore and mad our way to the game building (name??). We ate lunch and even got in the water until the kicked us out due to lightening. We decided to call it quits and got drenched on the way to the boat. Too bad, looks like a small number of diehards got the island to themselves around 2ish when it got nice out. We rebooked on board though, so we will get another shot!

I JUST got home after a long day traveling....I'll post more and maybe a trip report when I am alive again.

BTW, while I'm thinking of it. Did anyone else hear Christian mention the DIS during the the 8:00 "Farewell" show??

Dpuck- I think I remember seeing you - or at least a guy with a yellow dress shirt and gold tie! Funny! Didn't know about the Newlywed couple. We were all in black and white but not by design! I was the one sampling the fabulous red wine!

My kids said they heard Christian mention the Disboards at the farewell show. I was having my own farewell with a margarita on the verandah after a couple of hours of repacking! The kids came back and told me Christian mentioned "your cult board, mom!" "Drink the Mickey juice..." Hilarious, aren't they?

We all ventured out to CC. The kids and dads headed out about 10 and the moms saw that break in the skies around 1 and headed to Serenity Bay. We grabbed a table with a "sun umbrella" near the food station, ordered some lunch and the skies opened up as soon as we sat down! We laughed so hard. Took some photos of deserted beach and caught the tram back. Laughed about it all alot that night. Come to think of it, we laughed a lot all week. Good times!

We saw you at the Captains Table. We were right across from you. Six loud adults. three guys in chairs and the three ladies in the booth against the window. We were there for 3 hours enjoying our Palo meal. One of the ladies convinced our server to give us an extra round of those end of meal shooter thingys..too good.

Was not sitting at a table at the sailaway. We were standing essentially between the stage (if it were on deck 10) and the port building so we could watch them wave..too bad we left a bit late so there were no wavers. I tried so hard to identify someone. I had "studied" a picture of Dixielandings so I was looking hard and trying to see if anyone else had a green mickey on.

If you saw a girl dressed as a different princess each night then you saw my daughter. She could usually be found with mom or one of the shutters or entertainment staff. They tried keeping her this morning, but I convinced her that it was best to come live with mom since she will visit some of her friends in a few weeks.

We too were on CC until they said get off the island or take cover because there is a storm and then we too got drenched.

Yep we heard Christian mention the DISers and someone near the front yell loundly.

Dpuck, sorry I did not get your stuff to you. I would have ventured your way. We visited some folks down there.

Thanks for the compliments on the door....you actually were looking at my friends door...or at least that was where you put the message at. Mine was the one with a few more signs since I needed them for my DD.
Christian went to look at one day...not sure why but he made a point of looking at them and letting me know. The poor guy could not get my daughter to give him a high five no matter what he did.

As for the Magic thing for today it was not on the news here at least as of 10:30 eastern. I have a friend that I can ask when I see him tomorrow....he kindly let me now our ship was not leaving on time....I think he did it on purpose.

We usually do Nov and March. We think next year we may just do Nov. We will see.

Let us now when your trip reports are up so I can read them.

That *was* me!

We had such an awesome week and I'm so bummed that I didn't run into any of you.

Here's a pic of Delaney and I from the cruise:

Cruisecrzy --- so sorry we didn't connect. I poped up before castoff but didn't see any obvious DIS'ers -- Would have spent more time but DD was not in best mood (have to love those teenage hormones).

We had a great time and even enjoyed getting soaked at Castaway Cay. Plus we've booked for June 08 on the Wonder 4 day to celebrate mother-in-law's 70th. It will be fun to see the Wonder again and more fun to watch my Mother-in-law and brother-in-law's family be amazed by the ship. Going to start that thread shortly.

Was anyone aware of our stop mid cruise to drop off the passenger with the medical emergency? I'm usually a light sleeper and noticed nothing but curious what happened.... must have gone near shore and transferred to another ship. Can't believe we actually docked.

Have to say I missed Pikey leading the castoff party. Trent is fun but not the same. Plus, I seem to remember the moves for the 'whoo... Hahhhh" being different.. :lmao:

What is everyone's thought about the shows? I personally was surprised i still enjoyed them (being as this was 4th cruise) but am eager to see some of the entertainment change more often. Love the commedian guy but he used all the same jokes.

Well... hope all had a fantastic time. We are FREEZING here in Baltimore.

I agree - I loved the shows and did hear about the drop-off for the person who became ill.

Freezing in Lancaster, too! Hey, did you do the Charlotte-BWI jaunt as well on the way home?

We did Air Tran direct to BWI... and Happy Limo :hippie: to the airport (cheaper than Disney and nicer -- in fact we think Mr. Happy Limo himself was our driver). :rotfl:

Has anyone done the Stingrays at Castaway Cay in the past? We are thinking of booking for our family next trip (we've done Caymans so not new for my kids but brother in law's kids would love it).

Our trip report is up in the reports page.

I woke up around 3:00-3:30 AM I think on Sunday/Monday to the sound of side thrusters. It took me awhile in my half-asleep state to realize that we were still over a day from our next expected docking. That is when I woke up my wife - we looked out the window do see that we were pulling up to shore. I speculated that we were either in a mechanical trouble situation, a medical emergency, or something else (to the effect of rough seas/storm avoidance). Only when we saw an abulance pull away did it ease our fears that it was a medical emergency.

Also, the ship never "docked" in a sense that they tied it all up with the ropes. Rather, they had the side thrusters firing continuously to keep the ship "nudged" against the dock as the apparent transfers took place.

I know that a few of you here are from Minnesota - I have a question that will help us plan: Did you guys choose the Disney air option, and if so, did they book you on Northwest on one of the direct flights?

Regards, PS17

Good morning all. I woke up Sunday night (actually 4 a.m. Monday) as the Magic shuddered to a stop. The captain said we docked at Grand Turk and a passenger was then airlifted to Miami. We also saw the poor little boy who broke his leg on the Mickey slide on Monday (ouch!) - his dad was wheeling him around in a wheelchair the rest of the week. Lastly, we watched as an ambulnace arrived at the dock in St. Maarten around 6 p.m. A mom and her young son got into a cab with all the luggage and the dad was brought out on a gurney and put into the ambulance. They all took off and headed to the hospital. Don't know what happened though.

I sure am glad we were not boarding this past Saturday. With the security scare and subsequent lockdown, passengers weren't allowed on until 3:30 and the ship didn't leave port unitl 7! Turns out a security dog found a suspicious package that was sent to a crew member. Turned out to be a WiFi device for his computer.

How is the laundry going????

Ok, I posted after Minnesota, but I guess it is floating in Cyber space.

Anyway, Dpuck I love the pictures. I think I recognize your boys from the line for formal Minnie. We are still trying to get ours down we are at just under 300 and we know no one wants to see that.

I too was woken up by the ship docking in the middle of the night and actually said to my DH there must be a medical emergency. I saw all the goings on at St. Maarten and was curious since I saw it as the ambulance was leaving.

We met the family of the boy who broke his leg. Him and my daughter were at a function. they were really nice and never mentioned that he broke it on the ship. But now it all makes sense.

Dixielandings-My DH had a similar complaint. We actually had a conversation about the fact that Gary Delana's jokes have not changed since we first cruised in 2001. His other complaint is the food. Not that it is bad, but the menus have been the exact same thing for awhile. He thinks people who cruise once a year would appreciate a change of just one item. I do know that there are changes being made to both the main stage shows and some of the stuff you see in Studio Sea over the next few months.

Off to read the trip report.

I recognize your pictures of Trunk Bay. We went there too -- great excursion. My pics (or slide show) will be awhile.

How many of us went to the horrible freddy fusion show? Someone else mentioned perhaps we should all send a letter in our own words describing the situation. Thoughts??
