March 31-April 7, 2007 Eastern...3rd try :-)

Ok, here's a rough outline of our group!

7 adults (44-77 - my mom has now joined us!!!)

6 kids/teens - one 17 year-old guy; three 15 year-old girls; one 13 year-old guy and one 12 year-old girl

We have 5 verandah rooms on Deck 7 and one Cat. 11 on Deck 5. We are waitlisted for a Cat. 11 on Deck 7 for my mom so keeping fingers crossed!
This will be her first time traveling alone so we'd like to have her near us.

Not sure if we all will make a DisMeet but my sister, my mom and I probably would! And maybe the kids if there are others their ages to meet.

Now, who are the expert door sign makers here? I need help!!!

I would not call myself an expert (I prefer to say enough knowledge to be dangerous :artist: ) as I am not nearly as good as some of the folks on the DISign board.

I have a huge collection of clipart and would be happy to help anyone looking for some clip art. I have already made like 7 for our group. I am trying something new this time and doing the signs I make for each show as a 5X7 (postcard like) and keeping my day signs as well as my daughters Lil' stitch and Pirate night 8.5x11.

I also have decided to try my hand at making an iron on transfer. My problem is we want to make my DD a sweatshirt and we cannot find a blank sweatshirt here. All the cold weather stuff left our stores a long time ago. Our friend had sweatshirts made for all the kids last November, but she grew out of hers so we want to make a new one. Thankfully my mom lives in the Chicagoland area and is on a search for the perfect sweatshirt for me.

Let me knwo if you need any sign help or artwork.

I will try to update the list today while my DD is napping.

I was going to guess late seating.

So for doorsigns I know ude Photoshop elements. Before that I used a sign printing program. You can use word, powerpoint, or paint if that is all you have. If you like scrapbooking and have a scrapbooking program you can use that as well.

What kinds of signs do you want to make?

If you need backdrops because you cannot build them yourself in a photoshop type program I suggest searching for Disney Wallpaper.

Here are two that may help

http://disney.go.com/desktopstop/characters/classic/index.html

http://search.isp.netscape.com/nsis...1&remove_url=http://www.disneyexperience.com/

If there are ones you like and want somehting removed from it let me know. I can use photoshop to take something off like the website name or whatever and send it to you as a jpeg or bitmap.

I have tons of clipart sites, but here is one with a lot

Let me know if you need any more help. I hope I did not confuse you.

Minniesota..responded :-)

I'm working on my door signs...and I have pnemounia...yuk...anyone start packing yet?
I bought kids dramamine today just in case. If the boys are like me though it won't be needed. I've been in some rough seas without any problems. But you know what they say about getting older.

dpuck- ALso responded!

From the sounds of your 7yo, he should have no problem with motion! I can't believe all the rides he goes on.

Just an FYI, my pediatrician cautioned about dramamine - seems some kids either get hyped up or crash and burn. He recommended Bonine since it has no side effects. My kids took 1/2 tablet every morning (they are tiny pills!) and never had any problems. We took it too - a whole tablet - and had no side effects. We did notice that some people on our excursion were getting sick on the boat ride and people were definitely having trouble on the ship on Thursday (heading back toward the Bahamas). We were all fine. Maybe test the kids with Dramamine before the cruise and see how they react?

Can you believe neither DH nor I have access to a color printer for our door signs? Aaaack!

Here are some ideas if you really want to have a door sign. And you could have your DD help.

Get cardstock or colored paper and disney stickers or even photos of your own to create your own sign. You could use markers to write on it. Or you could cut words out of a magazine and put them on your sign.

Essentially make like a scrapbook page, but use it as a door sign.

There was somoene on cruise in Nov a few doors down who had a sign that was clearly made by a young one. The heading was Mickey Rocks my Socks. Then lots of cut out pictures taped to it. It was neat to see something this young person created.

If you really want one for your door I can probably make one for you. If you like it I can print it and laminate it at work then put it on your door on day 1.

Hey-
What kind of paper do you print the door signs on? My DD15 is "helping" me with the signs and we printed one out on cardstock but it kind of curled up. Any ideas?

PLEASE clarify for me:

If DH, DD5 and I all have original birth certificates and DH and I both have drivers licenses, do we need any other forms of ID? Passports, specifically?

Thank you!

I think I know the answer but I get so worried.

delaneysmom:
At this time, you do not need your passport, however, if there is an emergency and you need to fly back from St. Maarten or any other island that is not a US territory, you will be unable to do so without a passport. As long as there is no emergency, you should be fine with the DL and birth certificate.

I use photopaper (semi-gloss I believe). I have used both kodak and HP. I find this works better than cardstock because of the amount of ink I use.

When I do signs that are on a white background I use cardstock and have never had a problem.

LOL, should have added...

"Ah, the joys of working in public education"

That is too bad. Here we can go to the county office medi center and use the color copier and only pay the cost of paper (it is how I reproduce my signs for others in our group) and I can laminate there for 20-cents a foot. I am in a high school and the computer classes all have color printers...that teachers have been known to use.:yay:

I work at a school also..and I'm in charge of the printers....so I have full access :scared1:

Also, scrapping in a great idea or go to kinkos and they have computers and printers for use for a reasonable price.
