March 31-April 7, 2007 Eastern...3rd try :-)

I have sent you a PM which I hope puts your mind at ease.

We are also a Cat. 6 awaiting a room assignment. When I get mine I will let you know.

There is no need to worry about the Magic being oversold. I know a few years ago this did happen, but it was CM's on a special discount that got bumped.

For those in Minnesota I hope you are not getting more snow. We saw that there was snow in the midwest. Last weekend a friend sent us a You Tube video of all the snow. It looks so pretty on the computer....but I will never forget how yucky that stuff is.

I'm not in Minn. but in Michigan. We spend the weekend in Traverse City and got a ton of snow. However I wouldn't trade it for anything. Spent one day on the slopes and another at the great wolf lodge. I love the snow!!

dpuck1998 Sorry I confused with some of the others from Minnesota. Glad you like the snow. I have been in the Florida sun too long so my body does not do well in cold. I do miss some of the winter sports.

I am going to try and read your trip repot this weekend. I am going to be spending most of my weekend at ESPN the weekend. My brother is in town and wants to go. Plus I need to buy a friend a pirate shirt for pirate night so might as well make the trip to the Studios.

There are a lot of Minnesotians(??) on board so I'm sure they were listening :-)

As much as I enjoy the snow, honestly about 1-2 months would be enough...maybe when I retire I'll be one of those florida snowbirds.

Sure would be nice to live so close to such great enterainment though. I'm 2 hours to the nearest BIG city. Kalamazoo is only 15 mins away, but Det/Chi are the closest big cities for me. Small town living...lots of goods and bads.

Have fun at the parks...tell Berman I said HI.

Hi fellow cruisers-
I've been out of touch for awhile. My wonderful dad passed away a week ago after a yearlong battle with melanoma. He was asymptomatic until late fall and really only began feeling sick after Christmas. He and my mom live 3 hours north of me (up at the lake, for you Minnesotans ;) ) and I have been spending 3-4 days a week with them since New Year's. It was really a beautiful death, if one can say that. All of my siblings (there are 7 of us) and my mom were with him for the week before he died. We laughed, cried and prayed together - and he was lucid up until the day before he died. He passed away Ash Wednesday morning in his beloved cabin in the woods with all of us nearby. Funeral stuff in the cities was earlier this week and on Friday, we will take his ashes back up north for a final service and burial.

We managed to plan the first service around the first big snowstorm but are now looking at another system starting today. Maybe 14 inches. :scared:

For many reasons, I am SO looking forward to our cruise. Only a month away??? Eek - I better start planning the packing!

I am so sorry to hear about your father. I know how rough that can be. Glad you were able to dodge one snow storm. Now you will have cruise planning to keep you busy. If you have not already and want to give me your group info I will put it into our cruise list. I just cannot remember if I have done your group yet

One of the people cruising with our group just lost her husband to cancer. He was actually booked on this cruise...it would have been his 16th DCL. The wife has decided to cruise as that was her DH wish. We are all going to Palo High Tea in his honor as it was one of hi smost favorite things to do.

Minniesota - I am so sorry about yr father. My DH father's passed away unexpectedly this year - no chance for any good byes. I can understand how you say he had a beautiful death - chances to say goodbye are precious. Where was his funeral?

We are getting pummeled with snow today - I hope you aren't driving up north.

Have we planned on a cruise meet?

I have been off the boards - no good reason - had Blue Gold Scout banqueat, hockey, basketball finals and brownies. Things are quiet today.

Even tho I haven't been around, we would really love a DISMEET - esp for our little ones. (DS - 11, DD - 7)

mndisfam-
My dad's funeral here in the cities was at Nativity in St. Paul. His final service and burial will be up near Park Rapids on Saturday. We are scheduled to leave in the morning but we will see with this weather.

The snow is coming down fast and furious. We were just notified that our schools are dismissing early so I'm sure the kids will be home and in their snow gear shortly thereafter! Nothing like a snow day - wonder if I have ingredients for chocolate chip cookies?

Need to check with my group to see how they feel about DisMeets and being named on the "official" list. Most of them think I'm a little nutso when it comes to Disney/Dis boards, etc. :cool1:

I have the same problem at my house :rolleyes1

You can always just put yourself down and no one else or I have on mine traveling with 3 other adults.

And I can beat all of you on the crazy thing. Most people I know work for Disney so they think I am beyond crazy. They make fun of me and say I am addicted to reading on my "geek board." That being said I do know people who make fun of me, but use their spare time at work to read posts for info for their departments.

I laugh at all of them when they have a question and within five minutes I can get the info from these boards. I just smirk and think it is great to be a geek.....we may be "crazy" in our friends eyes but we are knowledgeable crazy people!!!

I hope you Northerners do not get buried.

My brother flew down for ESPN the weekend and called early this morning to say they changed his flight to three hours earlier to get the plans out before the snow came in.

I guess all I meant about an official DISMEET was having everyone be at one place for the sail away party so we can at least have kids start to hook up. My kids loved meeting other kids on the cruise, but it wasn't until the 3rd day or so. It would be great to have them meet as early as possible so they could hook up in the kids clubs...ANyway, my kids are always front and center at those parties...! I will be the pale woman with her first glass of wine in ages in her hand - dancing also!!

Its really really coming down here. I kept my kids home today - last year in Bloomington, the busses were delayed almost 2.5 hours in our 'hood in a similar storm. ANd guess what - they were an hour late this am, and the school has asked for parents to come asap (As of noon) to get their kids early. We are in a private school, and they have to adhere to the public school bussing schedule, but I am glad our principal just decided to bypass this huge mess and ask to close early...The public schools are "Kind of" closing early!

What a mess. We have lived here only 12 years, but this is one of the worst storms I have seen...It wouldn't have killed them to close school 1 day in 12 years...I really feel for working parents who have to try to come off of work early and then get their kids...

That was what I was thinking as well. On our last few cruises we did our DISmeet at the Sailaway Party on Deck 10 port side. We all arrived like 10min early and were able to chat and introduce the kiddies. Then off they went to deck 9 to dance. We also have posted what we will be wearing or even pictures and then made a point of meeting in port. It helped passed the time waiting for the ship to open as well as let people get to know each other. My DD hit it off with an older boy and they were always waving at each other and smiling as they were hunting down characters.

We are very happy because DH had a meeting last night and found out that a project was changing. That meant he would be able to join us on the cruise. He made some calls from work today and he is now booked in our room.

I am happy to have my "pack mule" and DD is glad that her daddy can go with.

I will update our cruise list over the weekend so if anyone wants anything added let me know. I will add Palo reservations, room #'s, whatever else anyone wants on there.

Glad to hear the change in itenerary. Getting better at this board stuff. This is us at Stingray encounter and on ship (son is a little dazed after Tulum... LOL)

I'm totally getting one of these for dd and I'm going to give it to her as we're getting on the plane to head down to the port for the cruise. DD is going to LOVE it! I think I'm going to get her the blue princess one and add an autograph book. The water bottle will be great...all of it will be perfect for the cruise, I'm so excited!

We are parasailing on CC also...hopefully. Wondering if I should book another excursion in case it get cancelled. I don't want to go on two of them, but I would like to have one. I wonder if Disney will let me book two and cancel if the parasailing does happen.

I will update the list either tonight or tomorrow.

We are busy playing at ESPN the weekend with my brother who is visiting. My DD told Mickey yesterday that she is going on his boat. Mickey was silly.

Dpuck I have someone checking into your excursion question for you because we have someone in our group in the same predicament. I am hoping to have an answer today, but being a Saturday it may not be until Monday.

We go to Great Bay Beach on St. Maarten because it is close and convient. Plus we are able to have a part of the group shop while others are on the beach.

Delaneysmom that bag looks really cool.

Today is officially 4 days until we will be at the port.
