Hello. You do a 'delivery' for each of the 15 cabins. Whether that is a gift for the whole cabin or 1 gift per person or a cabin gift and something for each kid, or whatever is up to you. Apsychmommy has been organizing the FE gift exchange, so we can check with her if there are any other suggestions for this cruise.

On our first cruise, there were only 7 cabins, so my hubby and I did a gift each of the 3 days (a cd of mixed Christmas music, pirate lanyards, mini bag of candy) just little fun things. We loved doing the FE exchnge and appreciated everything we were gifted in our Fish extender.

I haven't received any other suggestions for how to do the FE yet--we have 10 cabins total so far. There's sooo many cute ideas out there though that I'm tempted to craft another FE gift as I already finished cabin gifts

Welcome KentuckyGirl! I feel like I've been researching for months and I can't wait for March to come! As for the FE, we did not set a money range. It's all about the fun and surprises . There's some great ideas on Pinterest, Facebook, and these boards and you can see the range of gifts that people made or bought. Me too! I have a cabin gift that I am waiting to make (waiting for the materials). Plus I think I found an adult and kid thing that I like too. It kind of extends the vacation to think about this stuff now and make thing now.

Are you on Facebook? Our cruise has page there that's a bit more active than this board. There's a line to it (I think) on the first post of this thread. But if you're not on FB, no worries -- just post here.

A FE exchange is sort of like a secret Santa -- you hang a fish extender (or some kind of bag or holder) outside your cabin door on the fish on the wall (that's how the fish extender exchange got its name). Over the next few days, your FE will fill up with goodies (some individual presents, sometimes gifts for the cabin); meanwhile, you will be delivering presents as well. We've got a few minor guidelines somewhere on this thread. It's a great chance to be creative and to get excited about our cruise.

I just sent an updated FE list to everyone. We have a total of 13 cabins participating right now, so only 2 spaces left before that list is closed.

I downloaded the DCL app onto my phone and there's a nifty countdown clock on it. I see that we only have 63 days left to go!

Thanks for sending the list. I am very excited for the cruise, but feel completely unprepared - we were supposed to vacation next December, so the idea of cruising was far away, now it's just 63 days and I wonder what I did with our old WDW tickets and our suitcases and the camera.....

I imagine most people vacation this way...but I admit to being an over planner

Just a question: how did you decide on going on a cruise? Our family was talking about this yesterday. We went on our first cruise about 8 years ago as an early Christmas gift from my parents (their first cruise as well). Flash forward to 2014 -- we are on our 4th cruise and my parents are around 10-12.

Thanks for the warm welcome. We have been vacationing at Disney World for the past couple of years and we wanted to do something different. We looked at other cruise lines as well, but read such great things about DCL that we decided to go for it. I think it was a good decision.

We just booked the Disney Dream leaving on March 30th, kind of last minute. We are also first timers. We will be cruising with my family of four, my sisters family of four and my mother in honor of my father who passed away suddenly in September. We would love to be part of the group.

Hi Fabgray and Gubbytrip, welcome to our meets thread! Our FE list just closed as we reached our maximum of 15 cabins, but I will get a second list started for you (unless one of you want to organize that list?) Can you please send me your info via pm here or on Facebook. I sent an email out to the first FE group to see if anyone wants to join a second group, and I'm sure more cabins will join as it seems like we have had a lot more cruisers joining us in the last few days.
