We = Andrew DH - Kim DW - & Callie DD will be age 9 at time of sailing
We will be in Stateroom 2070 Port side Midship.
We have the late seating for dinner.
Would love to meet up with someone on this cruise (and any future cruise) with DDs Callie's age for a playmate for her and some new friends for us all.

This will be our 3rd cruise. We leave for Vancouver tomorrow for the Wonder Alaska Cruise and were on the Dream for 4 nights this past April.

I'm going to look for a nice FE for this March 30 2012 Magic cruise. If you have a link to a nice one please let me know. We would love to join in.

Where did everyone get all the Mickey Head magnets and the ones with the names on them?!? This all looks like so much fun. We are getting board traveling with just the three of us and would love to have some friends to meet up with.

:surfweb:

Just booked this cruise on Friday.
It will be me, dh, ds (14) and dd (who will be 5 at the time)
We took this same cruise with our ds when he was six and he loved it.
We went on a Carnival cruise last year for Spring Break and wanted our dd to experience a disney cruise.
She is very excited about going on Mickey's boat!!!

Hello to all. I am finally joining the thread. I had booked this cruise a few weeks ago:banana::cool1:, but haven't been participating because I was keeping it a secret from my DD until her 9th birthday and since I am always on the board, I didn't want her to find me posting about the cruise before her surprise.

We chose this cruise so that we could go with a dear friend and her family that she met on our last cruise (karajeboo's daughter). She found out about the cruise when her DD called mine on her birthday - it was awesome for her to find out we get to go again and with her friend. She is soooooooooooooooooo excited.

For this one, it will just be the girls - no icky bossy brother....

I am sure she'd be happy to get to know some more friends before the cruise. She'll be 9 (almost 10) next year.....

PM me if you'd like to get her email address.

I used gradysmommy on ebay for my FE. If you just search that name on ebay you should find her. There is another person who also makes FEs on there, so maybe just search ebay for fish extenders?

And welcome!!! Looking forward to getting to know more people on our cruise!

Oh, I'd love to hear how Carnival compared? Which ship? And welcome!!!

I was wondering when you'd show up!!! :lmao: Ally cannot stop talking about Tori and the next cruise. Everytime we mention doing something she says, "Tori and I will/will not do that...." It's so funny!

Karajeboo-----We went on the Carnival Pride- mainly because it was sailing out of Baltimore so it was relatively close to us.
It was okay- my dd loved it as this was her first cruise and nothing to compare it to. It was also our first balcony- which we loved!!!
We have been on RCL as well and in our opinion the service is much better on RCL. Of course, we had a great time.............it was vacation and a cruise after all :thumbsup2
The service just wasn't the same........not anything bad, just not the extra touches that we have seen on other cruises.
Could have been just the staff we had.........who knows.
That particular ship is vey dark as far as its decor and we prefer something brighter- again not bad just our opinion.
They have definitely changed from the party cruise line that they used to be known for to a more family oriented cruise line as there were a lot of families on board and lots of activities geared towards families.

I am sure the Magic will be much better- my ds still remembers our wait staff from our first Magic trip.
The only issue we had on that trip was that they were filming the television show "According to Jim" on our sailing and there were times where you couldn't be in certain places, etc due to taping.
Although Jim Belushi sure put on a show at one of the sail away parties- that was a lot of fun:yay:
Looking forward to this return trip on the Magic.
We love the Western itinerary- so we can't wait!!!!!

JWBMom - you said you love the Western itinerary - why? We have only done one other cruise (DCL Magic Eastern) and LOVED it - and I was actually a bit disappointed when I saw that our spring break would only offer a Western. It just doesn't seem as pretty? What do you like better about the Western. Any tips would be great! :thumbsup2

It could just be that i have been on the eastern itinerary a bunch of times and this is different.
I did love Grand Cayman when we went on the Magic the first time.
We went to the turtle farm (i love turtles) and when to Stingray City and swam with the stringrays (ok, you don't really swim, but it is very cool)
Anyway, GC is beautiful. We ended up tendering on the opposite side of the island from where you typically tender due to high winds and we got an island tour on the way back to our original location.
Of course, if you hate it, don't blame me...it was about 7 years ago and my memory isn't as good as it used to be :rolleyes1

I am so excited for the two of them to get hang out again. You'll have to let me know what they "will and won't" do, so I don't plan anything uncool :confused3

I am also looking forward to having some friends to hang out with.... there is just something sad and pathetic about going to the bar by yourself :lmao:

Though having someone else take care of the meals and the beds and the cleaning and the bathrooms :laundy: was beyond AWESOME. My alone time turned out to be used for fun (instead of cleaning like my "alone" time at home).

I swear thinking about DOTD, pool-side, is what's keeping me going these days. I am so glad I have that to look forward too.:yay::yay::yay:

Just wanted to check in> My son and I (17) will be o this one as well! We booked while on Dream last week. I wanted to book on the Fantasy Inaugural but my son wanted to go back on the Magic! This will be our 8th cruise with all on the Magic and just the last one on the Dream! The Dream is beautiful -- but big and the Magic allows for more inteaction. We have done the Western before and loved it. Can't wait!

Very interesting! We opted to cruise the Magic for our next cruise for two reasons: 1) price - they seem to have really overpriced the Dream and Fantasy, and 2) exactly what you said - interaction. Plus, it just seems to be the "perfect" size.

Now I'm going a moms only trip next May on the Dream, and really not looking to it nearly as much as the Magic cruise. The Dream and Fantasy just don't excite me right now. Maybe once I compare the two I will love it, but I love the Magic so much I just don't know.....

If it is Mom's only you might enjoy the bars on the Dream more than the Magic. The creativity and attention to detail is spectacular!! I can say that I had a drink in each and would love to go back just for that! Can't say that I have done that on the Magic - may have to do it this time!:rotfl2:

Well you may see us there because Jeff and I did NOT take advantage of that enough on our last cruise! There are so many things we are going to do differently this time!!! :thumbsup2

We just got back from a 5 night Dream cruise, and while we had a wonderful time and thought the ship was beautiful, all three of us said we preferred the smaller size of the Magic and the Wonder. I think part of that is that the Magic was our first so we'll always love her best  and also that on the 5 nighter there just wasn't enough time to really explore everything on the Dream. But the smaller size of the older ships is definitely a plus for us - you see the same people more often and it's easier to get around. We'll try a 7 nighter on the Fantasy one of these days, but for now we're looking forward to getting back on the Magic next year! :cool1:

Which 5-night Dream cruise did you do? We were on the July 5th one.

I think I'll feel the same way after my 4 night Dream cruise next year. There is just something about the Magic that I love and quite frankly the Dream scares me a little. Are the pools as crazy as I've heard? Just too small for the amount of people? Having only been on one cruise, I have nothing to compare, but I felt the Magic was perfect in every aspect..... So excited to see her again in March!!! :cool1:

Hi Everyone.

Karajeboo, my DD's just got home yesterday from 24 days at sleepaway camp. So they'll be emailing soon. They are very excited about making email contacts before the cruise. Last night my DD had the tv on, the laptop on her lap, and her ipod touch in her had. She was clearly making up for some electronic withdrawal for three weeks! Thankfully today they are playing with friends at the beach so I can do approximately 12 loads of disgusting camp laundry including washing pieces of clothing that clearly do not belong to my children but hitched a ride home in their bags.

Moving on to this cruise....
It would be nice to track the list of people on this board. I see "IAMazing" started this thread, is that person still around????? There hasn't been a post since April, I think.

Also, regarding Cozumel, I see someone was asking about Nachi Cocom. It looks great, but so does Chankanaab Park and Fury Catamaran (which initially I read as 'furry catamaran' and thought it was a catamarn lined with faux fur.) How to decide. It looks like there are many good excursions to choose from at every stop.

We were right after you on the July 10th cruise - perfect timing for us since DD's 16th birthday was on the 14th and we got to celebrate it on CC. :goodvibes

None of us ever used the pool; just couldn't find the time with only one sea day and so much else to see. But they all looked very crowded every time we walked by, and I personally really don't like the way the two family pools are right next to each other. I don't like the set up of the Dream adult pool area either. But those are minor issues - the Dream is a beautiful ship and I'm sure you'll enjoy her.:)

I agree that it's nice to keep track of all the cruisers; I've been keeping my own list but it would be much better to get centralized. Do any of you have any experience setting up websites? For one of our trips a fellow cruiser set up a website for us where she kept a list of all the cruisers (w/pictures of those who wanted to put names with faces before the cruise), the FE information, excursions people signed up for, and cruise meet info. She didn't organize everything herself, she just put all the info on one site for us. It was great and I wish I knew how to do it myself!
