Just wanted to say thanks to all for all the wonderful information. From door signs to pirate night we're all looking froward to it so much.

My DW and I are taking my brother and his family, DW, DN6 & DN4, (disney nephews???) on this cruise and it will be their first crusing experience. The boys can't wait and my sister-in-law says if I buy them one more pirate themed gift she'll make me walk the plank. But hey what are uncle's for?

I would like to get the boys a gift for their cabin and have seen that The Perfect Gift does a good job, what about the gift packages directly from disney, better/worse?? But then again can there be to many gifts??

Anyone flying out of Settle (Alaska Air) on the morning of March 2nd? If so let me know cause that's where we'll be.

Oh, some prayers needed for my little one DS3, has to have hernia surgery next tuesday, wanted to have everything done and healed before he goes on the 'Mickey Boat". I'll never again say the words "If I can get through this I will get through anything" Just another test of faith

We are at the Residence Inn on Thurs and Friday pre-cruise which is new for us; last year we stayed at the Radisson; I'm not sure what might have an opening at this late date; but there are a ton of threads with lots of recommendations on where to stay, eat, etc. I searched "port canaveral hotels" and came up with these results:

And for anyone concerned about Pirate attire, if you're into t-shirts as souvenirs, the shops at St. Maarten, right off the boat, have plenty of pirate-themed t-shirts for children of all ages/sizes. I bought this one for DS last year for probably $20 - the skull and writing glows in the dark.

You have a lot of catching up to do - it will take you some time, but feel free to read all the pages of this thread. The most important things you need to know are:
1) Pre-cruise meet at Grills in Port Canaveral on Friday night for dinner (PM "alanapapa" if you can come)
2) on-board meet on Saturday in Promenade Lounge from 2:30-3:30ish (between lunch and mandatory life boat drill)
3) Mark_Story and Johnna_Story are the coolest Dis'ers on the board.

Seriously - most of us are repeat cruisers (this is our 3rd in 3 years) so we are free with the advice. Ask away. See you soon - 25 days...

Ok Personally I am traveling with my 2 daughters ages 6 and 8. My Sister and her husband have 3 ages daughter 9, son 8 and son 8mos. My aunt and her boyfriend will be traveling with my cousin she is 9- Then there will be my parents the coolest grandparents around!!

We will be arriving on the 1st of March and staying @ the Radisson.

Welcome all newbies! This will be our 3rd cruise as well (maybe not in the last 3 years but in the last 4!!!) so feel free to ask away!

Sad news...there might be an opening for the Sunday morning brunch at Palo. I tried to book Flounders for DD1 and it was all taken. Unsure if DH will go without me - I will give him permission since I'm a loving wife (with the promise that he'll bring me Margherita pizza!) So you may want to get some back-ups for at least me - I'm going to try again once we board and will know by the 2:30 meet in the Promenade Lounge if I can go or not.
