Now, I have not broached this subject with my DW, but would anyone with early dining like to link ressies with us so we will have tablemates we at least know? We were lucky last cruise is that we ate alone, but it was something I think our DD's missed out on.

Well, I am not in trouble with Caropooh, she thinks it is a great idea to link up dining with another DisFamily. But I haven't heard from anybody yet :confused3 . Just send me a PM or an e-mail.

Is anyone staying in Cocoa Beach before the cruise? We usually fly out on Thursday or Friday, stay in Cocoa Beach and then catch a taxi to the port. It gives us time to relax and not be rushed before the cruise, and we are usually the first to arrive at the port. Plus airfare is usually cheaper by flying before the weekend. I think we may do the same again for this cruise, but we aren't sure. Just wondering if anyone else does this?

We will plan to stay at the Radisson, probably arrive on Thursday. We worry about weather problems, so we come down on Thursday to play it safe. The Radisson is fun - they have a great pool (which we only used briefly last year b/c it was raining!) and there's a Starbucks in the lobby - big selling point for me. :goodvibes

How far is Cocoa beach from MCO... and what form of transportation do you use to get to your hotel from airport???? We are planning on arriving late Friday night...so I'm thinking we would be better off getting a room close to the airport. And then wake up Sat. morning and drive to the port, not for sure yet what means of transportaion we will use... (either rent a car or maybe using a service) it is kinda of nice that the rent- a- cars are right there at the airport!!! Makes it pretty convenient.

Cocoa Beach/Port Canaveral is about an hour, maybe a wee less, so if you are coming in late yours might be a good idea. We are planning on taking a red-eye Thursday to arrive early Friday and get a room at the Radisson. We are thinking of renting a car to drive from the airport to the hotel and then turning it in and renting one when we get back to port, as we are thinking of spending Saturday night somewhere there and fly back Sunday AM.

Right now, our plan is to fly in Friday...which will take most of the day from the West Coast...and stay at the MCO Hyatt. Not sure yet if we'll take the DCL bus or a towncar/limo to port Saturday morning (we have both booked at the moment!).

Last year we took the DCL bus to AKL on Friday, then took Tiffany to the port, then back to the airport. This year DH wants to rent a car from the airport. I don't know who drives faster, DH or the Tiffany driver chasing the Mears bus last year! Staying in Cocoa sounds like a nice idea. Starbucks at the Radisson hummm Peppermint Mocha Lattes!! Decisions, Decisions!! :woohoo: :grouphug:

Indea88...How was your experience with the DCL bus vs. the towncar? Has anyone else done both before? Looking for insight!

The DCL bus to AKL was fine except I was holding my toddler for the ride, no car seats!! AKL was one of the first stops, it went rather quickly... and they have a movie showing for the ride, great for the little ones.I was glad we didnt take the DCL bus because it would have been longer without the car seat!. Tiffany/Prestige towncar was nice, prompt service (they were early for both pickups, car was spotless and I could use my car seat!! We were chasing the Mears bus at about 85 mph, my DH loved it, I just wanted to get there and get there we did quickly!!:bitelip:

Last March we used the "Tiffany Town Car" service. They picked us up at the "Nick Hotel". Was there on time and our driver was very nice. Before we took off, he gave DD's colors and each a coloring book to keep them occupied for the trip. If we were to go w/ a car service again, I would definitely call on them..( a added bonus with Tiffany, is that you are allowed a 30 min. grocery stop if you choose). I just checked and it looks like a round trip from airport to Port is $180.00,(plus tip of course)
I had purchased the "Pass Porters" book before our first cruise, and in the book they offered a $15.00 off coupon for round trip to Port Canaveral , unfortunatley we were unable to use it, as we only had them take us to the port. We rented a car form Budget on our return, because our flight home didn't leave till 6:30 that evening. (did KSC for the day)
We had good luck with Budget as well, it was real easy to catch the Budget Shuttle from port, and Budget was just a short drive away. As far as the return, they have a place to drop the car off right at the airport, and then it's just a walk across the street and you are in the terminal...way easy!!!!!

Not for sure what we will do this time, but am leaning towards Budget, just because it would be a little cheaper :) I'm looking into the Sheraton Suites for our Friday night stay, those pillow top beds would be pretty inviting after a l-o-o-o-ng day, has anyone ever stayed there before?????

I just made arrangements to rent a car from Budget... I found a discount code #W810000 and went ahead and used it and got a pretty good deal..Full size car w/tax for $37.76 that's from MCO to Cape Canaveral..pick-up and drop off same day..Figured we would use hotel shuttle to get to our hotel (which is only 1 mile away from airport) Fri night and then again back to airport Sat morning to pick up car... planning on sending DH by himself so we aren't lugging the suitcases all over :) )

The deal wasn't quite as good for the return...Cape Canaveral to MCO w/tax same car was $62.03, went ahead and booked it, figuring that I will just keep a watch out for a lower rate...

So if you are thinking about Budget try that code...(It's a Wal-Mart discount)

Thats a great rate for Budget! Flyertalk.com has a rental car thread with all of the discount codes, Walmart codes are always one of the cheapest rates....We'll be using Budget too, not decided on where to stay the day before... :confused3

GOSH!!!! Where has everyone been... I keep checking our thread and there has been NO activity for serveral days :confused3 Hope everyone is o.k

I think I need to give the DIS boards a break.. the more I read about trips reports, etc.... the further away March 3rd seems, My family is starting to give me a bad time about ALWAYS being on the computer and reading DIS posts :surfweb: ( I think I'm secretly addicted... ha ha)

o.k., I'll be watching and somewhat patiently waiting for the next post :) If anyone else reading this is doing the March 3 cruise, let us know who you are, the more the merrier :grouphug:

Be Happy with your addiction :cool1: :cheer2: The first step is to admit it. There is help here in the group. :grouphug: Okay, we help each others addiction to the DIS, and try to bring more here. Who cares if the clothes never get washed, or the floors swept, we have the DISBoard to read. :surfweb:

I too was wondering where everyone went. :confused3 I know Caropooh & I have been busy with our DDs. Maybe people are out enjoying the Springtime.

Hey everyone,

The Story family is alive and kicking, but buried under an avalance of t-ball practices and games and ballet lessons. Plus, as the weather gets nicer, do spend a lot more time outside than feeding our addiction to the DIS Boards. I think that seven pages of posts more than ten months out to the cruise is pretty good. We should have some real progress going as we pick up new cruisers as the days get closer.

For any of you who are following the daily countdown, we pass a big milestone this week, passing the 300-day mark. Woo-hoo!!

:cool1:  :rockband: party:

Can't wait to start.

I wish, I wish, I wish it was tomorrow!! :rolleyes1 I envision myself on deck 9, blowing bubbles, dancing, I always get a little teary eyed for the first hour on the Magic!!! 296 days, once Christmas is here were good to go!!! :woohoo:

Thought I'd just give a quick "Hi" :wave2:, and a much needed bump, to our post!!!! We had moved all the way to page 4 :(

I'm still watching and waiting for a good deal on air fare... so far, the best I can get is still about a $100.00's higher than what I paid last March...

Hope all is well w/ everyone... Our family is in need of prayers, as my mother-n-law is in the hospital battling brain cancer... It has been very heart-wrenching watching her decline, and knowing there is very little we can do ...and then to top it off, we had to put my father-n-law in the bed next to her, due to heart related problems...so we have been spending alot of time at the hospital, in between school programs, getting ready for dance recitals etc.....

:wave2:
