During our RCCL Radiance of the Seas cruise last week, DW discussed our future cruise w/ me and I swear, she must not have absorbed any of the implications of the 3/3/07 ressie at all when I made it. Now expresses grave doubts about being able to take the full week off from her school (we've done it before when it was not a vacation week). I reminded her that the price was literally thousands less than the same stateroom just a few weeks later during our actual spring break. (By the way, the Radiance is a gorgeous ship and I would sail on her again in a heartbeat, though I wish they had disney shows and disney's coordination of terminal operations) (and mickey bars )

So I know you're looking for more, but we turn out to be less (and poorer; much poorer...)

Hello Fellow March 3, 2007 cruisers...

This will be our first Disney cruise though the wife and I have taken a couple of 4 day cruises with Carnival in the past...My kids will be: DD12 DS8 when we cruise. I will turn 33 on our sailing date and our Anniversary will be on Mar 6 (14 years!). On top of all of that, my brother and his family are coming with!!! It will be him, his wife, and 4 kids (between 5 and 11). I'm in the military and only get to see them about once a year, so what a way to spend a week with family!!

We are so excited...keep this thread going.

Glad to have you with us. What branch of military are you in?
Ask your DB or his DW to join in on this forum and get to know us. What type of things does your DD12 like to do? Our eldest DD will turn 13 a few weeks after we get back, and I am sure she would like to know some people before we get onboard.

Hey everyone,

We will be joining you on the March 3, 2007 cruise. With me will be my DW, DS (6 at the time of cruising), DD (3 at cruising time) and my DUncle.

This will be our third cruise on the Magic. We just returned on 2/11 from an Eastern with a case of the post-cruise blues. And as all of you know, the only sure-fire cure for a case of the post-cruise blues is to book another one, so that's what we did.

One of the reasons why we want to do the Eastern again is because my DD and DS both got sick on the last cruise and we didn't see much of either S. Maarten or St. Thomas!

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone virtually and spending time with you planning and organizing over the next 372 days.

We're really looking forward to the trip - ALREADY!!

We have a countdown tradition that we will start on Friday: Mark and the kids will fill a jar with 365 jellybeans, and every other day, both DD and DS will get a jellybean in anticipation of the trip. We tried giving one a jb one day, and the other one the next day, but as any of you with two kids knows, THAT didn't work out so well. So they both get one every other day. It's an easy visual way for them to see how close the trip is getting.

Gotta go out to get the air-tight jar and jellybeans this week!

One year from tonight (Friday, March 2, 2007) here's what I'll be doing:

Eating dinner at Grills at the PC marina, hopefully outside!
Preparing carryons for trip, including "beverages" in a soft cooler
Checking email one last time
Drifting off to sleep while dreaming of the "magical" week ahead.


Tonight, however, we get to fill the jellybean jar!!!

Wishing you all a good cruise, but DS and DW and I have moved our reservation to 12/22/2007, the Holiday week sailing of the Magic. DS will not be in the school I thought he might be when I made the reservation, so March 3 was not going to be his spring break. And the week that will be his spring break is a week that includes the Final Four right here in ATL and I told DS years ago that I would get us tickets and we could go and experience it in person--last time it was here in 2002 he was just too young for the late games so all we did was go down to the fan fest by the Dome. So no spring cruise in '07.

The 12/22 sailing is also the eastern itinerary, which we have done twice and love. we've spent this winter getting to know the western ports of call on RCCL. So I'm signing off this thread, and wishing you all calm waters, great weather, great servers and stateroom hosts and trips filled with magical memories to last a lifetime.

For those of us still on this cruise, in about 5 weeks we can all make our reservations for our flights. Then before you know it we will be there in PC.

We started (or restarted) our tradition last night, filling a jar with 362 jelly beans and telling our DS and DD that we will be back on the Disney Magic before we know it.

A year from today we'll be in St. Maarten, probably getting too much sun and having one too many drinks with umbrellas in them!
