March 3, 2007

Because I suppose that I have WAY too much time on my hands, Caropooh, I noted that when you opened this board, you had 497 days to to until the cruise.

As of today, we have 246 days - YOU PASSED YOUR HALFWAY POINT TWO DAYS AGO!!! WOOO HOOOOO!!!

Pop a half of a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

Mark

WOO HOO!!!!!! Thanks for passing on that exciting news, Mark! That time really flew by!

And for those of you who are curious, Mrs. Story is still without an assistant. We should start a ticker, like Walter Cronkite did, tallying the number of days that the American embassy staff were held hostage by the Iranians. :hourglass

The reign of Ms. Brown is over.

We HIRED A NEW ASSISTANT on Friday!!!!

She won't start until the end of July, but that will come soon...

She's young and "moldable" and reminds me of me at that age - oh, so long ago...before I knew my DH - you know, the GOOD old days.

Happy July 4th everyone. It's one of my favorite holidays. I'm proud to be an American, especially on July 4. We'll be celebrating by participating in our "small town" bike parade, hanging out at the neighborhood pool, and then hosting our annual neighborhood barbecue. And proudly displaying the Red, White and Blue as much as possible.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Congratulations Johnna!

Hey! We want to purchase snorkel equipment for Norm, Josh and myself for this trip. We figure we can finally justify it since we go so often. Is it safe purchasing on EBAY? I figure we can soak it in bleach and water if I get wigged out. Does anyone have suggestions? I want a submergable (sp) one. Since we swallowed alot of water in February. We were in very rough waters and more went in the tube than out. It made me very nervous and I started to get real scared in the water. Being in over 8 feet of water made me a little nervous. I would also love to be able to go down under the water if possible.

Hi all
Sorry been MIA for apparently a LONG time! Thanks to Kim for starting a list. I will update you on our info below. Well lots has happened since I've been on here last. I have quite the round ball growing in my belly and found out that we'll be having a DS...DD is exstactic to have a little brother. Due date changed by a few days, so it's now Sept. 20th rather than the 23rd. We've also convinced my in-laws to come along. They've paid their deposit, so hopefully they don't change their minds and hopefully this new little guy will be good and allow us to go since DD STILL talks about our last cruise March 2006 and it's been everyday...so it was obviously a memorable cruise for her.

I noticed that someone is taking a DUncle on their cruise! We took my brother on our last cruise and he absolutely loved it. We were worried that he'd feel like the 3rd leg but he didn't and had a great time.

Has anyone got their cabin assignments?
Well here's my updated info:

Qball
DWSusan, DHJustin, DD5, DS5.5mos from Saskatoon, SK, Canada
FIL, MIL from Indianhead, SK, Canada

Many many congratulations on having a son!!!!!!!!! You will love it. Boys are way different than girls. Good luck on a happy and safe pregnancy and birth.
:woohoo:

We know our cabin assignments, but I don't know them off the top of my head. I'm sure Mark will reply with the info - he's probably got them memorized...

Kim - I know nothing about snorkeling, but I think ebay is a good idea. You can disinfect whatever you need to, and you can save some $$. I've bought quite a few things on ebay, including a Canon Rebel camera, and I have never had a problem.

That said, depending on the ebay prices, maybe you can find some new stuff on line for a similar or reasonable price so you won't worry about the "wigged out" factor...and if you go often enough, is it worth buying new?

Just my 2 cents...

Yes, as my dear and still temporarily assistant-less wife noted, I do have our stateroom numbers memorized. They are (Story family) 6048 and DUncle 6553 (right across the hall from us).

And just to make a little correction, my very generous DUncle is taking US on the vacation this year. We alternate year to year, and he generously offered to take all of us this March.

The last two years, we have hit cold or rainy weather in February, so we bumped our upcoming cruise to the first week in March in an attempt to change our luck. DS will be in kindergarten next year, but (and if I may brag for a moment) is already reading on about a second grade level, so I don't think pulling him out of school for a week will keep him out of Harvard :rotfl:

And let us all breathe a sigh of relief that the Johnna Assistant-Less Hostage Crisis is over. Not sure how many days its been, but it seems like the whole Story fmaily has been held hostage.

Kim,
We purchased a few things from Ebay...just watch the sellers ratings. We live in the prairies so no good snorkling here so we just purchased some cheapy snorkle gear from Walmart years ago and took them with us on our last cruise and never used them...took up unnecessary space in our suitcase, so we're not taking them next time. But if you snorkle alot, might be a better investment to get good gear.

Mark,

Our DS is starting kindergarten in September as well, and he too is reading (he's already finished all of my first grade classroom books!), so I felt the same way about taking him out of school for this cruise! DD9 is an A student as well and I know she'll do fine missing a week...and you can't put a price on family time, right? They're only little once! We'll be pretty close to you guys on the ship...our cabin is 6060!

Hi all,
This looks like were all going to be close to each other. We are in 6548, the osther side of the ship from Mark and Murphy, excuse me, Johnna :rotfl2: . But Mark, I have a question, I see DUncle's cabin being on our side (starboard) and down one or two, am I reading it right?? :confused3

I think my Dear, Dear (blech!) Husband got it wrong. I think DUncle is in 6053 or 6055 - one of the ones across the hall from us.

And we are actually going to stay at the new Residence Inn in Cocoa Beach rather than the Radisson - We will stay free because with the meetings and receptions that I plan, I earn lotsa points from Marriott. Gotta save the $$ for the spa and souveniers!!!!

We have kids 6yrs and 8yrs. This is our 2nd cruise on Magic. Last time we didn't get to eat at Palo's. It looks like they only have dinner and brunch and Hi tea is that right? If so does anyone know when time the seat are for Palo's?

Thanks

Hi! Welcome aboard! If I'm counting correctly, this puts us up to 48 people!
Are your children boys or girls, Angela? I'm not sure what time seating is for Palo, but if you look through this thread, you'll see we are planning a group brunch.(or 2)
I'm a little sad today because a year ago today we arrived in Florida for our WDW/Wonder vacation. Just 237 more days till our next cruise though!!!

As my DW said, welcome :grouphug: .
I will add you to our DisMeet Sign, though I am running out of room and might need to go to a second page. :artist:

My kids are 6yr old boy Jared and Julia 8yrs. Also if you are keeping count my brother and sister in law are going too! So that is 6 for our party! I would love to join the group for brunch.

Are they 6 & 8 now or at cruise time?

Welcome angelabielanin! I'm one of the two Kim on this trip so far. I'm keeping an excel sheet to email to one another. If you'd like to include optional information just email me at nshabarekh@snet.net and I'll send you the sheet.

I'm just so happy to see the count below 260 now!

Kim :)
