March 29, 2003 Magic...

Yup - I am still lurking the cruise board! With the new ports for the Eastern, I am wondering if I should change our next cruise plans. Would I still get the $200 on board discount if I made a change?? I will call to find out. I can't imagine another cruise without the nice people we met on the last one! My weight has stayed the same too! I shake my fist at Sasha every night! Some friends of ours took the 4 day Wonder last March, and their 9 yr old daughter and my 6 year old granddaughter were heard discussing their servers on the ship like old cruise pros!!!!!! What are we bringing these kids up to expect? Briarfox - I can't believe you haven't lost the weight the way you were always running up and down the stairs!!! Haven't heard from PlutoJudy for awhile. Weather in northern Michigan still hasn't reached my expectations of summer - must need a touch of the Caribbean!! Anyone hear from Sink about their Alaskan cruise??

We're still here too. We have a long countdown until the next cruise. SINK liked the Alaska cruise. He said Celebrity had better food but Disney better staff and entertainment.

We have rainy weather here in the northeast. Today is the last day of school.

Hi JPGClark. Glad to hear about SINK's cruise - thanks. How is your little girl? School was out here last week. I have waunderlust and want to go SOMEWHERE! I was thinking about Boston for the 4th to hear the Pops concert. Went a few years ago and it was fabulous! Grumpy won't go though. I hope to get to WDW once this summer - maybe towards the end. If I do, I will take the 6 yr old along as her other grandma lives in Orlando.

Funny you should mention Boston. We're off on Saturday to visit my sister who lives outside of Boston. Then we're going to Vermont.

Both kids are doing well. They are looking forward to a nice summer. They are also looking forward to going to WDW over Thanksgiving. SINK was nice enough to rent us points at the BCV/Studio. We're going to stuff ourselves in there like little sausages! We've stayed at the YC before and we love the location. We also like to have breakfast in the room before going to the parks so we don't have to get up too early to go for sit down meals.

Here I am!
I have been very busy at work and don't have much time to check the boards.
Miss you too, Trekker. Hi to all.
Gert, I know what you mean about cruising without all our March cruise friends. We certainly met great people. I think we are spoiled for all future cruises. Miss you, we did have fun!
We heard from SINK also. How do you get all that time off Steve? Let us in on your secret.
Leoyellow, we haven't heard from you in a long time, how are you and Mark and Melissa? Our Mark was in a terrible accident last month. He is fine now. Our Melissa is fine and loves living on Lake Shore Drive.
Briarfox, You did do a lot of running up and down the stairs, can't believe you gained weight. Was it Margaritaville?

Actually I think it was the nightly trip up for ice cream...or maybe the two deserts with every dinner since I couldn't decide.... I had lost about 10 pounds in the couple of months before the cruise and was fed up with watching the dieting! I've had a really hard time getting back into eating right. Especially since I love to have ice cream at night with the kids....

My 2 DS's didn't say a whole lot about the cruise after we got back. But my 6 year old kept bringing home papers where they wrote about what they did for spring break. His were all about his "croose" with Mickey Mouse! Even my 12 year old who really didn't go to the clubs much or hook up with anyone his age wants to go back in the worst way!

I'd love to do one of those new itenerary's for the Eastern! We're looking really hard at doing a Southern Caribbean cruise next year (if I get a bonus at work - keeping my fingers crossed!). DCL is just so expensive - I can get airfare to San Juan AND a nice cabin for what I'd pay just for the cabin on DCL...

Yesterday I forgot to say HI to zyezye. We enjoyed spending time with you, Bobbi and of course Becky. I hope we get to share desserts again on another cruise. BTW yesterday I parked next to a car that had ZYE license plate!

Judy:

I get five weeks off a year. Use the vacation days around holidays to maximize our trip. On our last 7 night Alaska cruise, I only took 3 vacation days along with Memorial holiday and a floater.

For our Thanksgiving WDW and DCL eastern, I will only need to take 9 days of vacation to get a total of 17 days of vacation travel.

Similiarily, we will be going to Ft. Lauderdale prior to Labor day. We will be taking a red-eye on Wed, getting to FLL at noon on Thurs. and possibly drive up to Vero for a night, then back down to Ft. Lauderdale to take a cruise on Sat. Returning Sat. to spend a night before heading home on Sun and still have Labor day to rest up.

Thanks Judy! Bec and I enjoyed our time with you and Muggs! We are thinking of booking a WDW package in November as well as our May 2004 cruise.
Hope you both are well!
Bobbi

Hi SINK (and your lovely wife) Glad to hear that the Alaskan cruise was good. We had friends that went - one loved it and the other had fog for a week and saw NOTHING!!!! What a bummer! We hope to go to WDW later this summer with a quick trip to Vero (love VB). We have signed up for a DCL cruise in March, but now I might change it - not sure if I want Western, Eastern, or 4 day. Decisions, decisions!!
During my 'working years', I maximized my vacations just as you do! It really pays off, plus you end up with multiple vacations throughout the year which is really nice! If and when I get our dates for Disney stuff firm, I will post it. Hopefully some of those we met on DCL will be in the area. Really a nice group of people!
I sure would like another brunch/dinner at Palo's! I loved the view. Too bad it isn't open every noon 'cause at night you can't see anything in the dark and the atmosphere is just gorgeous.
