March 29, 2003 Magic...

Hey Trekker - looks like we will be on the same excursions in Grand Caymen and Cozumel! See ya there!

This has to be the best year ever to have a cruise to look forward to. I'm here in the blizzard-ridden northeast. I just keep saying that it won't be much longer untill we are out of here to the sunny Caribbean (and first to Universal!) My DD6 keeps saying "Can't we go today? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!" I wish I could say yes. Today was supposed to be a make-up day at school for one of our other snow days, but we are stuck in the house for another day. You can't even go outside to play today because of the fast wind. Now it is sleeting on top of the 2 feet or so of snow.

I've purchased some of our clothes for the trip. I still have to find a nice shirt, jacket, and tie for my DS8. I need some casual clothes for my DD6. I still have to get a coverup for myself but they seem to be hard to come by right now.

Hopefully you guys will respond to this so I have something to read today. It's getting old being held up inside the house.

WEll, it isn't snowing today in the beautiful midwest, but the current temp. is -6 degrees and headed for -30!!!!!!!!!! So as beautiful as the bright sun shining on the white snow is - outside stuff doesn't sound too good. I have had a horrible sinus infection, double ear infection and bronchitis for the past week. Instead of Konch Koolers I am gobbling antibiotics, decongestants and that good stuff. We leave next week for Florida and it isn't soon enough for me! After nearly 15 yrs in Fla. daughter moved back to Michigan! Can you believe it!! She decided to come on the cruise with us too, so we will be 5 adults, and granddaughters ages 6 and 1. I think Cozumel will be pretty much on our own with Chankanaab Park, mini-golf etc. GC will see my husband headed for the submarine, daughter going scuba diving, and the rest of us headed to Capt. Marvin's. CC will be the banana boats and parasailing for the adventurous - I will settle for snorkeling. Key West will be on our own, as we used to live there (40 yrs ago) so we want to check out some of our old 'haunts.' Frankly I can hardly wait. Haven't done any shopping yet, too depressing as I have gained a Lot of weight. Really am needing a vacation!!! See you in about a month!

We didn't get our docs yet. I imagine with all this snow I'm not getting it today either.

Every week or so I go out and check our rental car reservation rate to see if there is a better rate available. Last week I was able to have it reduced by $15.00. Just called this morning and had it dropped by another $65.00. If you are renting a car in March/April this might be a good time to check back and see if there is a better rate available. My original reservation was made with a code from Mousesavers.com the new rate is with no code.

We are loving the snow, but can't wait until we are on the boat! Less than 40 days! Woo Hoo!

I was thinking about all the poor souls that were supposed to sail on other cruiselines in the past two days that are still sitting in Reagan National Airport thinking of their ship sailing away without them. How sad! I hope there are no freak snow storms in March!!! Yikes :)

Hey I got our DOCS today!!!! I'm so EXCITED!!!! Can't wait for 3/29 to get here!

Anybody else get their's today???

No Docs here, but we are still buried in snow. Did you book through Dreams Unlimited, or someone else?

I started a packing list for us. I have been on THREE other Disney Cruises, but I am overwelmed at the task of packing for this one. Silly me thought that I would have lots of room since we get two extra suitcases with Katie, but I am overwelmed at the amout of baby stuff we are gonna need! Wow! She may need one of my alotted two suitcases! *laugh*

This baby thing is HARD!

Nope, haven't gotten them yet, but I suspect the docs will be here shortly since they've assigned the room # to my sister-in'law's room. They hadn't done that before.

Now all I need to do is see if I can get her room reassigned next to mine since there is a Cat. 4 next to the Roy Disney Suite (8030).

Her stateroom # is 8502, starboard side, the second room off the bridge, all the way up front. Not bad, I guess, but the all the kids would love if their rooms (and verandahs) are next to each other so Big Daddy/Uncle Mike will try and ask DCL to take care of it.

I DID get my DCL Passporter today...VERY nice!

We're almost a month away...

I originally booked through DCL and then switched over to DU. I think there is no way to predict how quick you'll get them. I was stunned when I got home last night and the box was sitting on the counter. Didn't even know what it was until I opened it up! Of course my 12 yr. old DS had to go and rifle through everthing to find "his" documents!

Now if I can just lose this remaining 8 pounds....My trainer is putting me on an "accelerated" workout program from today until we leave on the cruise to "help" me lose the rest of my weight....I'm not sure I'm going to like that....

MickeyB426, my family and I have Cabin 8008 for this cruise. This is the second time we picked this cabin. It is in a great location. Very quiet hallway and not much noise from above. Your sister-in-law will love her cabin. It is on the Port side of the ship though.

We haven't received our docs yet either and we booked through AAA.

I received my cruise Passporter today! I am going to pour over it tonight. The kids were off school again today due to the snowstorm. So, we made a trip to the mall and got a whole lot of clothing for the trip. It was a lot of fun. I hope we'll get our cruise docs soon. I've purposely avoided looking at them on the castaway site so I can be a little surprised.

Hi Leoyellow...yep, you're right...8002 IS on the port side.

But my sister-in-law IS on the starboard side...because I made a typo.:teeth:

She's in room 8502. Sorry for the confusion!

*bounce* *bounce* Guess who else got their cruise documents today? :) *bounce* *bounce*

Hmmmm...let's see...

Nope, not a clue. I have no earthly idea.

And I thought I studied for this quiz too.

No documents here in snow/ice covered Central Ohio...I am, however, now getting excited everytime I see a Fedex truck :D

My dd(12) is hoping there are some other pre-teen gals out there that she might "get to know" before the cruise. Any takers? She is afraid she will be the only "older" child in the club...(seeing as how her father and I will not let her join the teen area...much to her dislike)... she was just 12 in December.

Anyone start packing yet?

Betsy:bounce: :Pinkbounc :D :D :D

nurseb - I have a 12 yr. old DS - I'm hoping that he can meet others his age too. I'm sure he won't be thrilled to be in with a big group of kids if they are all younger than him!

Packing? I have a growing pile of "cruise" stuff in my walkin closet. I think this weekend I need to pull out a suitcase and start putting some things in!!! I'm restraining myself at this point - other wise I'd be totally packed up more than a month early!:D
