And I can't believe we are going to be at WDW in 1 week and 6 days, according to my ticker! Woo Hoo.
We don't have a lot of plans made. Just going down to relax. And we were hoping to say to get away from the snow but we don't have any. Knock on wood. In fact today it is supposed to be up in the 50's. Hard to believe for the end of December here in Iowa.
We are taking the girls to La Hacienda Saturday night as they have not eaten there yet. We tried it last March and loved it. Hope we get a window seat this time so we can watch Illuminations.
Then I think Sunday Morning we are having breakfast over at the Poly at Kona. Me and Brooke have been wanting to try breakfast there for a while now so we thought this would be a great time to do so. Plus I love the smells of the Poly.
Sunday night we are going to a favorite of ours and I think it is one of those places that is a secret jem. Portobello at DTD! We have had a late lunch there a couple of times and it never seems to get crowded. Hopefully going in the evening won't be to bad.
Then Monday I think we are just gonna play it by ear. As we fly home that afternoon. We have been going to Wolf Gang Puck Express for our last breakfast the last couple of trips down there. So we will see.
Sorry to bore you with our plans, but I'm getting excited for this trip. Need to get away from here for a bit.![]()
The quote didn't work last time. I messed it up.
Anyway, your trip sounds wonderful and have fun for the rest of us!
Chris - your trip sounds like a great little getaway.
We love Kona Cafe for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I know everyone loves the Tonga Toast but my favorite is the macadamia nut pancakes.
Enjoy!
Congrats to Michael on the

Ditto, was very undewhelmed by the TT, love the Macadamia pancakes, it includes a matching nut butter.
And we've been going to Portobello for good Italian since it originally opened way back with a different name. I'd go there way over and above Moma Melrose.
Am curious to hear about LaHacienda, never been there.
Hi chris!
That sounds like a great trip. How is Portobello? We have always gone to fultons.
Enjoy.

Thanks Mary. And it is so funny because Brooke wants to try the Tonga Toast and I want to try the macadamia pancakes. Just thinking about them makes my mouth water. Can't wait until we actually get to try them.
Mark - yes, we love Portobello. Our family has a laugh that we stopped there one day for a snack - appetizers and wine - and we spent over $100! So, when we stop for a snack, which we like to do in the early-mid afternoon and have done at Portobello more than once, we always think of that time sitting out on the patio, enjoying some great food and me and Bobby had some really good wine. So we can't wait to try an actual meal.
As for La Hacienda, when we were there in March me and Bobby got a dinner for two to share. We both really enjoyed it. I believe it had shrimp, fish and scallops on it. Supper yummy. So we are looking forward to trying there again. Will let you know if we think it is as good this time around.
Flo - Portobello is wonderful. We too have eaten at Fulton's on several occassions but I would pick Portobello hands down over Fulton's. The one time we were at Fulton's I made a spectacle of myself by ordering the Pop Rocks Martini while we were sitting at the bar. Boy does that drink ever make a mess. Too bad they stopped serving it.It was quite tasty, besides being messy.
