March 22, 2012 Dream SSMC Reunion AKA "It's all Gary's Fault" Cruise

I have a question:

I've never cruised with Disney before, but I see that you can book your next cruise with Disney while on board and you get a 10% discount and an onboard credit.

Let's assume for a minute that after I meet you guys I totally love you and want to cruise with you again. How do you normally plan your cruises as a group? Do you go ahead and pre-book through Disney for the 10% discount or do you wait and book as a group for the group discount?

Stephenie - Kathy got it all right. Many of us have cruised before together on the DVC Member Cruises (Mark and I did the 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 cruises). I'd say most of this group is from the 2008 and 2009 cruises. We all met on the meets thread like this one and got to know each other. After the 2009 we just kept talking and started talking about cruising together again and finally in late 2010 agreed to this cruise and booked it and moved the talk to this thread (and Facebook) .

Kathy is also right about booking on board. If you don't have a specific date in mind ask the booking agent to book you a "dummy" cruise. They are used to it. We do that and name our TA right then and there. In fact our TA even sends out an e-mail before we sail telling you how to do it. Then when you hear about the cruise you want you just transfer your booking to that date. Hope that helps.

Ok - this is our first cruise and I am confused.

We have 2 reservation #s as we booked 2 adjoining rooms. So, when I retrieve my reservation on the cruise website it comes up but when I retrieve the 2nd reservation then I can only see that one - is there anyway to view both in my account. We check in on Jan 7th so just want to make sure I am doing it right and wanted to do it all at once.

Also, my passport is not here yet - do we need our passports to check in online or can you add that later?

Since the rooms are linked I think you can make any reservations for them from a single reservation. When you go to book something - say you want to book an excursion in Nassau - then all of you should appear (from both rooms) and you just check who you want to book for.

I think, but could be wrong, that you do not need your passport number in for the online check-in. I think you can add it once you get it.

Hopefully someone else knows for sure.

Oooooooooooo, this is gonna be so much fun!

Everytime I hear Margaritaville it just makes me smile and remember singing it on CC! I know I don't sing very well but I just can't wait to sing it again.

And I can't believe we are going to be at WDW in 1 week and 6 days, according to my ticker! Woo Hoo.

We don't have a lot of plans made. Just going down to relax. And we were hoping to say to get away from the snow but we don't have any. Knock on wood. In fact today it is supposed to be up in the 50's. Hard to believe for the end of December here in Iowa.

We are taking the girls to La Hacienda Saturday night as they have not eaten there yet. We tried it last March and loved it. Hope we get a window seat this time so we can watch Illuminations.

Then I think Sunday Morning we are having breakfast over at the Poly at Kona. Me and Brooke have been wanting to try breakfast there for a while now so we thought this would be a great time to do so. Plus I love the smells of the Poly.

Sunday night we are going to a favorite of ours and I think it is one of those places that is a secret jem. Portobello at DTD! We have had a late lunch there a couple of times and it never seems to get crowded. Hopefully going in the evening won't be to bad.

Then Monday I think we are just gonna play it by ear. As we fly home that afternoon. We have been going to Wolf Gang Puck Express for our last breakfast the last couple of trips down there. So we will see.

Sorry to bore you with our plans, but I'm getting excited for this trip. Need to get away from here for a bit.
