Happy Sunday Everyone!

Well, it is not that happy for me. It is for the rest of my family but not me. That is because today we are moving Becca over to Iowa State to her dorm room. I hope I make it through the day with no tears. But that is very doubtful.

It is just hard to believe she is 18 and going off to college. I haven't had enough time with her here with us yet. Even though there are times when her and her sister are fighting that. . . . well you know, you wish they were grown and gone, but not really.

It has been weird too this year only signing Brooke up for school and dance and stuff like that. Ah, well. I still have my Brooke home for three more years, as she is starting her Sophmore year in High School this year. So that is good.

Ok, I will stop now.

Oh Chris! I'm happy for Becca, but know EXACTLY how you feel. I tried sooo hard not to cry when we took the boys both to their first year of college, and I could always make it to the car for the ride home. Then it was tears from then on!! I was sad for me and happy for them - very confusing feelings. But I'm sorry to report that it didn't get much better any of the times we said goodbye for school. I'm just a sappy mom I suppose. But we love our kids and hate to see them grow up!! Puppies, kittens, and kids - they all do it! It's just not fair sometimes! LOL

You'll be okay. You're a great mom!

Chris, I am sorry that Becca has left for school, I myself have not gone through that, Both of mine stayed home and went to college. Of course later they both moved out. But I don't think that counts, since I did not take them anywhere.

Thanks guys. I did ok until I got home and had to take some stuff in to her bedroom. Then I lost it because her room is so bare. And also, as I sit here typing I have a tear in my eye.

But I am so glad she got to move in early. I couldn't have imagined doing all that with hundreds of other people trying to go up and down the stairs like we were doing and hauling all the boxes and boxes and boxes of stuff. She got to move in early because she got a job on campus through ISU Dining. She will be working in a dining facility that is not even a 5 mintue walk from her dorm room. And she has to be there tomorrow for orientation. So yay for that!

Now it is time to sit down with a nice glass of wine and relax. Getting ready to watch the Next Foodnetwork Star!

You can find solace in the fact that you know you raised her to handle whatever comes her way. It's tough to "let go", but I'm sure she will do great and handle things as good as her Mom & Dad.
