Thinking about the days/nights before the cruise. Where is everyone staying? WDW or the Port?

We've been toying with the idea of trying to book a treehouse at the 7 month mark for a few days. I know some were talking about OKW as well. Just trying to get a feel for what everyone is doing.

not sure thinking of port, but I can not remember the hotel that everyone talks about at port. I was trying to decide cause last time we took Disney transportation and we got to the port very late.. I missed alot. Don't want to do that again!

Are you thinking of the Radisson? We've stayed there a couple of times. They used to offer a free shuttle to the port, but I thought I read they discontinued that.

We've also stayed at the Hampton Inn. Once when we drove and once when we rented a car. When we rented the car Mark dropped me and the luggage off at the port and then took the rental car back and caught the shuttle.

One of our DVC Member Cruises we even had someone organize a bus for the group. We got the port real early and it was much more reasonable than DCL transport but I think it took a lot of effort on her part.

Congrats Michael and Dianne on :bride: and pirate: :thumbsup2 Way to go!!!!!:cheer2:

We haven't decided where we will be staying before and after the cruise. We will be staying at the BLT before the members cruise. Maybe the Boardwalk...our favorite place!!!

Fish Extender Gift Exchange...contact me through private message here or through private message on Facebook.

As for pirates night...Michael and I don't dress up pirate style...we usually wear a pirate t-shirt.

I have a question....are we doing a group photo? If so...when and where?

Hope you are having a good day. Take care.

Good Morning. And Happy Mother's Day to all Mom's!

Dianne - thanks for the inspiring words. I will get through.

Congrats also to you and Michael on the :bride: and pirate:.

As for staying before the cruise, we were thinking of OKW along with Dave and Gary. There was talk of the guys playing golf down there as they have always wanted to and I know at least for my DH, he never has, and I don't think the other two have either. That is if my mind is serving me right this morning and that is what I remember reading. Sorry if I'm wrong guys. And for the night before the cruise if everyone is gonna move to somewhere by port, we might too. And yes, Dianne, we won't take Disney transportation to the port again from WDW. When we took it the one time, they didn't even pick us up from BWV until 1:00. Way to late for us. We want to get on that ship ASAP. I felt so far behind when we finally arrived that we said we wouldn't be doing that again. However, I don't mind the transportation back to WDW or the airport from the port. That works pretty slick.

Just thinking it is getting to one of the happiest/saddest days of our lives. Our oldest daughter is graduating soon. I don't know how those of you who have gone through this do it. Man. The other night she tried on her cap and gown and I lost it. Last night was her last high school vocal concert. And I was sad, even though she did a great job on her Sr. Solo. Band is next week. And she will turn 18 in ten days. I can't even believe where the time has gone. I am so not ready to let her go. Ever. :sad1:

Chris - You are so right it is the happiest/saddest day of our lives. But you look at them and you are so very proud of there Accomplishments. And you know they have there whole future a head of them. She will be going to the next chapter of her life.

I was laughing when you said you lost it. I did that but I did it the day of awards at school. I looked at Steven with all his friends in the parking lot and that was it.

Good Morning all, I will check and see if the Radison, is doing the transportation to port. Other wise I might as well stay at WDW also.
And arrange for transport. I might rent a car.

Or if someone wants to arrange for a limo or something, I might me willing to share the cost. Just let me know.

And last but not least Happy Mothers Day to all Moms!:cool1::cool1::banana::banana::dance3:

Congrats to Michael on the :bride:

Congrats to Dianne on the pirate:

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's :flower3:

Wow it looks as though the Radison still has a cruise package at approx 200.00, that is breakfast for 2, and park car, and transportation to cruise ship. That sounds a bit expensive, I think I might choose to stay @ wdw and rent a car. Anyone want to share a ride?

Hi All

Just checking the Board

This past Oct we went on the Western Cruise and a group of us stayed at the Radison. In fact in 2010 we also stayed at the Radison piror to the Eastern. The benifit of staying there is you can leave your car there during the cruise at no cost. By doing that you take the shuttel they offer to the boat at 9:30 AM and be some of the first people to arrive and get a good boarding #
Our group will be sailing Alaska in AUG.
DAN

PS
I would be calling the Radison. I think we only paid about $160.00

Ahoy Mateys! pirate:

I am officially onboard now in cabin 10045! :yay:

This is my first time cruising solo, so I'm hoping someone will adopt me for their dinner table.

Looking forward to cruising with you all :boat:

Hi Dan

Unfortunately, the Radisson has changed their policy and the shuttle is no longer free. I've heard they've upped their room prices as well.

We will be staying at the Boardwalk and taking our rental car to the port on Saturday morning.

Good morning everyone - happy Monday!

Woo Hoo - Kathy's official! Are you early or late seating? We're early and would be happy to have you at our table.

I think we'll book at Boardwalk and then we can change to OKW or SSR at the 7 month window depending on what's available.

Would everyone be up for a pre-cruise meet like we've done before the member cruises? We were thinking that if we get a treehouse we could host a party there.

Haven't thought about getting to the port yet but if someone wants to organize a limo or mini bus we'd be up for it.

I think Monika mentioned a group picture. We love those. Linda (seaulater) used to organize them on the member cruises. Anyone have any inside info with shutters to get it done?
