Part 2 of a Five Day Eating Fest
Monday, March 21 (20% DDE discount)
Prime Time Café (MGM)
Always a fun place to eat, and good food.
We started with Onion Rings - thinly sliced deep-fried onions with a spicy breading, served with horseradish cream sauce. (Good)
Male friend and I each had the Pot Roast. I was a little hesitant to order this, as last time it was overly cooked and too salty. (And I like meat overly cooked. That time it was even too much for me.)
This time it was Very Good. Our friend seemed very pleased with it too.
DH ate the Meatloaf. And he said he wished he had ordered the Pot Roast too. He said the Meatloaf was fine, but he likes their Pot Roast better.
Female friend ordered the Fried Chicken dinner. She seemed to like it. Although she was picking the potato skins out of her mashed potatoes. She also said the green beans were not cooked enough.
We ended with sharing an order of Smores.
Everyone seemed overall pleased with their meal.
Tuesday --
Fulton's Crab House.
All of us were first timers here. I had joined the Levy Restaurant Preferred Club. (FREE) I was armed with coupons!
I had a coupon good for an appetizer up to $9.95.
My WDW PAP (10% discount)
And an e-mail coupon from Levy for me to have a free dessert.
With the Levy Preferred card, for each $1 I spend at any of the Levy Restaurants ANYWHERE, I get 1 point. At 250 points, I get a $25 certificate.
(See http://www.levyrestaurants.com for details.)
I ordered the portabello fries as an appetizer. ($9.95)
Our friends ordered shrimp cocktail. (5 large shrimp)
Very happy with our mushroom fries. However, our server (Liene) told us the manager was not going to allow the free appetizer since the four of us were receiving a 10% discount from the PAP. She was very apologetic, and let us know in time to cancel the appetizer order. But we got it anyway, and glad we did.
We also were served a sampler appetizer of their crab spread with sesame wafers. (Small teaser, but very good.) We were provided the recipe too.
Shortly before we were seated a party of 27 was also seated. Our service was slower than usual, but still very good considering. Liene kept apologizing. But really there was no need to. Luckily we were not in a hurry.
DH also had the crab and lobster bisque. He was very pleased with that, and mentioned it a few times.
For the main course I ordered fried black shrimp (that came with fries). I have to say I was disappointed. Not that it was bad. I was expecting more gourmet type food. It was battered and deep fried popcorn shrimp. It was good shrimp. But I was expecting something much more fancy. And the fries were just typical limp fries. Could have had better most anywhere. Again, I was expecting something more appealing and gourmet. And I only ate half of the food. So the portion was way more than enough.
DH ate Dungeness crab legs. He seemed very pleased. I asked him if they were any better than Red Lobster (when they have Dungeness crab.) He said he could not tell any difference. But added what can you do to crab but steam it and dip in butter?
His serving was pretty nice sized.
Female friend ate Grilled Shrimp. The shrimp was large and served on rice with a sauce. She thought it was VERY good. I wish I had ordered what she had. She thought that meal was almost as good as Flying Fish, which was her favorite of where we ate these past five days.
Male friend ate Halibut. He was very pleased too. He said he wished the portion was a little larger. But I think it was because it was so good. The size seemed fine from what I saw.
I was allowed the free dessert. I think partly because we had been there so long due to the party of 27. DH and I each had milk chocolate crème brulee. We easily could have shared one. VERY GOOD stuff!
The other couple shared a sampler. It was SMALL. Three small tartlets of crème brulee and key lime.
And I was told by Liene that Levy?s restaurants is having March madness. I earned double my Preferred Points. With that I already earned a $25 certificate towards our next visit! (Valid for a year.)
Overall a good meal. I have been wanting to eat there and glad we did. Afterwards we went to the Adventurer's Club.
