Just had to re-book our November 2011 holiday with VH it has changed to March 2012 for various reasons ( have to say VH were quite unhelpful and non moving on several request but then again I suppose it was our fault), so have a few questions that I hope someone can answer!

We are now flying out on 5th March, never been in March what is the weather and also crowds like?

Included in the package is the V Room I understand you can complete the car hire formalities before you fly, we have the full insurance package and also upgraded it I dont have a credit card could this be a problem? If we sort it out before we fly do we just go and collect the car from the garage at MCO? Also there are 5 adults and 1 infant we have booked a 7 seater van just a bit worried about space for luggage is the 7 seater big enough?

With the first booking we had free disney dining but have not got it for the revised booking, we had it originally because it was free but as we have to pay for it now it only is suitable for 3 of the adults because of diet requirements VH have told us it is either all or none ie 5 adults, I have sent another request to their customer services but again no response, anyone had this problem? I take it that you cant purchase direct when checking in?

After being so negative above we are all actually looking forward to go actually cannot wait lol

Sorry to hear you had to rebook and have your plans thrown in to turmoil!

March weather can be similar to November weather - it can be hit and miss. Weather over the winter months can be volatile, some days it can be hot and sunny, and then overnight temperatures can plummet and it can be, basically, as cold as here at home. It can also be that it'll be cold when you leave your room early in the morning but roasting by lunchtime so pack with dressing in layers and you'll have all situations covered.

The further into the year it gets the less likely you'll see the volatile temperature shifts so fingers crossed you'll be ok in March but...it does happen occasionally so just be prepared for it. Having been caught out in shorts and T on a cold day myself once, it can be most uncomfortable!

Can't really help with the car hire stuff.

Little bit sketchier here as I don't usually have dining on my reservations but pretty sure Virgin are correct about the dining. All members of the party have to be on the dining plan (it's to try and stop people splitting the credits between each other). Only way to get around it would be to split the reservation into 2 separate bookings assuming you're not all sharing 1 room. This is a Disney 'rule' so you'd be faced with the same scenario dealing with them direct.

Hope that helps and glad to hear you're looking forward to it all! There can sometimes be hiccups and worries before a trip, but once you're there I'm sure you'll have a grand time :)

We went in March 2007 and while we loved it and it didnt really spoil the holiday, the crowds were BIG! There were very long waits for all of the rides but we had gone over Easter so we kind of expected that! Weather wise, it was lovely, I dont remember the weather ever spoiling anything for us, we had the occassional shower but nothing too bad and we went to the water parks etc, it was hot enough for those! :thumbsup2

As far as having a credit card for the car is concerned, I dont think it will be a problem. We have always had one but I know people have asked the question on here before and there have been some who have hired a car without having a credit card and is has been no problem so I think you will be fine on that too! You should be ok with your car although it might be a bit of a squeeze and a lot of messing around trying to get luggage to fit, if I were you, I would go for at least an 8 seater, I know it is only one more seat but it can make a lot of difference to put the luggage.....suppose it depends how many cases you take though :confused3

Unfortunately, I cant help with the dining plan question, I have never done it before and have never stayed onsite so dont know if you can pay for it, Im sure someone will be along to help with that one! :)

I hope you have a fab holiday, travel companies being so awkward really can put a downer on booking it! I must admit, we booked and changed with Jetsave and had terrible customer service all the way through, so much so that even if they were the cheapest, I would never book with them again! I dont think they realise how much of a bad taste they can leave in customers mouths by being so unhelpful!

Again, agree with previous poster, everyone on booking has to take the plan.

As for those with dietary requirements, would it not have been the same if they were on free dining?? Disney chefs are well accustomed to those with special dietary needs, you can add the details to your dining reservation, and the chef will visit your table to discuss your needs.

never had a credit card for car hire and never had a problem and been doing it for the last 9 years.

Thanks really appreciate the replies, VH just replied saying as you all have it is a disney requirement that all on the booking must have it! Will think of a way around it, my wife and I are paying for 2 sons and 1 girlfriends food we will not be together all of the time and dont want to hand over a wad of money or give a daily allowance either, suppose I could pay cash on check in and put it on their key! Also my wife is strictly vegan so quite difficult!

Ok always worried about cc for car hire just wondered how stict they were as VH t+c state you have to have one. How does the car hire work sorting it out in V room?

i have the v room booked but they didnt mention it to me about it maybe its new for next year as i'm going in oct

Sure I read it somewhere that you can complete paperwork in the V room for the car, in the past at MCO never had a problem not having a cc but just wondered how stict virgin where in UK?

I'm not sure if I'm interpreting your words right here so forgive me if I got the wrong end of the stick, but the (total) dining credits will be accessible on everyone's room key, not a single persons - you don't have to have all your meals together but each can use the credits separately and independently.

Just for reference too, if the people with the special dietary requirements don't use the credits for themselves you can use them for the other people in the party (hence why Disney insist on everyone in the party being on the plan). So if you wanted to do some 2 credit dinner shows/Signature restaurants, you would be able to 'spend' their credits for yourself if you wanted.

Just because a person might not use a credit on themselves doesn't mean it has to go to waste. All the credits get pooled together in one big lump and you can spend them how and on who you like within your party.
