March 2012: Spring Break, Here we come! Threadjackers take over the world!

I just checked and there is a 6 pm ressie for 1900 of March 5th right now. It wont help you with Fantasmic (unless they add one) but it will make it more resonable to do EMH at DHS

Wow, just getting back to catching up here....and reading about your worst mom of the year award...which I'm sorry I win almost EVERY day according to my kids! :lmao: Sorry about DD and her knees...poor thing! Hope she is on the mend soon.

She's trying to mend. She's not getting worse, that's a start. :goodvibes But I don't think the meds are helping much. We'll see what the weekend brings. :thumbsup2 Thank you!

Now to your ADR issues. I'm not sure I'm the best person to give advice considering how much I have changed our ADRs just THIS WEEK if you've been keeping up with my oh-so-boring PTR. :rotfl:

I'm sorry, but I don't read boring PTRs, or subscribe to them. And I do recall being subbed to yours. :snooty: <~~ me

Your PTR is so not boring! :goodvibes

I must say we really enjoyed our meal at 1900 PF when we went in 2007. The character interraction was just PRICELESS! However alone time with one kid...in a park...even more PRICELESS IMHO (coming from a mom of three of course). You can do the meal on the next trip! ;) I'd find something closer to DHS and schedule a meal there. :)

Thank you for understanding my point! That's kind of what I'm thinking. I know she'd be ecstatic for 1900 PF, but one-on-one time without brother? I mean, I could ask her ... but this is kind of about me, too.

As for Kona Cafe...well the big draw for me there has always been the Tonga Toast. LOVE IT! :lovestruc That being said, you can get it by eating at Captain Cooks...and pay a whole lot less. I know you want a nice relaxing last morning meal though and I'm not sure if you have counter service in mind. :confused3

It wasn't so much about cost ... I had planned on the price for us to eat at Kona, but jumping from around $60 to over $100. :scared: I don't have anything in mind right now. We have Kona booked, but I'm not picky if we do TS or CS. I just want a yummy breakfast before heading home. :lmao:

Good luck in making another tough decision. Can you believe we'll be under 50 days very soon??? YIPPEE! :cool1:

The time is flying by! :woohoo::woohoo:

No there isn't! :p And thanks for prank calling me. :lmao::rotfl2: But thanks, truly, for checking for me! :goodvibes

Sorry about that, for some reason I thought it was going to be just you and your DD.:headache:

And I didn't mean to prank you, I was just so excited about finding earlier seats for you that I had actually pressed reserve and I was calling you to see what you wanted me to do. I don't know why we were disconected, I heard you pick up and then nothing.:confused3

I'll keep my eyes open for one with 4 seats.:thumbsup2

Got it! That's how I feel about my last day...only for lunch instead of breakfast! I just hope Chef de France and that French Onion soup doesn't disappoint me! :rotfl:

No, it's a family dinner. :goodvibes

I answered, but I thought you hung up because you didn't mean to call. That was weird. :confused3 My phone is known to sometimes "mysteriously" drop calls. :sad2: It's old. It's on it's last leg. It will be upgraded (hopefully) in time for our trip though. Fingers are crossed mid-February the phones get upgraded to 4S. :woohoo:

Thanks for keeping your eyes peeled!

For what? :confused3 You're thanking me for being honest? Well, I suppose I could lie ... :lmao:

Well, I can't vouch for you ... but I thought the FO soup was YUM! Then again, I'm easy to please with FO soup. :cloud9: However, I didn't care much for the ratatouille. But I had salmon and devoured it all!

So after a long debate, I made a list of possible restaurants for our AK day dinner (3/5). I figured we'd be out of the park before close (as much as we love AK, we usually bypass a lot of things in it, due to lack of interest).

So I looked around and made a list of possible restaurants to attempt booking for a 5ish dinner. It included WCC, Shutter's, Kouzzina, and Yak & Yeti. I took the list to DH and asked him which he'd prefer. I showed him the menus so he wasn't picking blindly. (We've previously dined at Kouzzina, so he was familiar with the menu.)

He picked ... KOUZZINA! We now have a 5:00pm ADR.

Why did I suggest Kouzzina? Well, it was at the BW, which was near the resort, and then DHS was right there as well. :thumbsup2

So the plans are:
Ride the bus from AK back to CBR. Clean up, drive over to BW, eat. Then the boys will drive back to CBR and do whatever, while us girls hop a bus from BW to DHS! We may or may not make it to F!, but the important thing is, we'll make it to DHS for some evening fun!

I am glad that you make your decision, and it looks like you made a great choice and things will work out great. I'be been thinking about Kouzzina too, but unsure.:confused3

That is so awesome - I am so glad all your plans seemed to fall right into place for you to go to DHS with dd. :lovestruc

Just so you are aware, there are no buses from BW to DHS you will either need to walk or take the Friendship boat to DHS.

Thank you! :flower3:

I'm very excited to go back to Kouzzina! I'm a fan of Cat Cora (I love to watch her cook, she's amazing!). And the food is so delicious! :cloud9:

I'm looking forward to lots of girl time with DD! We really need the girl time, so it works out perfect!

Oh! Thanks for letting me know! I'd be cool with taking a boat! :thumbsup2 I would have done more research on where to go to get to DH closer to the trip, but just assumed there would be buses in the heat of the moment. :lmao:

A dear friend of mine stayed at BW last year , her and her family went out and waited for a bus to DHS needless to say when one never came they realized there were non only walk or boat. I just didn't want you and your DD sitting there waiting in vain.

That is good to know... I never would have thought of that. We are going by way of Epcot - so walking is the best choice - but I would have just assumed there would be busses from all the resorts to all of the parks.

Okay, I'm looking at my map. It's a bit fuzzy (it's in the back of my book). Are you sure there's a boat that goes to DHS? Because it doesn't show any water between BW and DHS. Perhaps it's Epcot? Because I see water. Just wanting to verify before I stand there and try to take a boat to DHS and it goes to Epcot instead. :lmao:

I thought the same thing. :confused3 I just assumed all resorts had buses to all parks. Guess we learn new things every day! :goodvibes

I just looked on the Walt Disney World Web Site and it said that the only transportation from the Board Walk is walking and boat.

Disney′s Hollywood Studios theme park ~ Boat or walkway

I copied this from the trasportation section of the site. It was actually from the resort that I got this info, but it should be the same.:thumbsup2

Yes, the friendship boat goes from DHS to D/S to YC/BC to Epcot to BW to DHS

From time to time they change the route and it may go from DHS to BW etc but there is definately a boat. I have taken it from DHS to BW and also from YC to DHS

My map is officially dumb. :lmao:

Thanks Corrine! :thumbsup2

My map is really dumb. It shows no water near DHS. It actually shows that I'd have to cross the street to get to DHS from BW. I need a better map.

It does, however, show that a boat could go to Epcot, just not DHS. :lmao:

Actually if it were me coming via Epcot's InterNational Gateway I would hop on the Friendship boat to head over to DHS. It is well over a mile walk to DHS.

Love your new plans and that you'll get to spend that quality time with DD at DHS now! Sounds like fun! :)

We have yet to try Kouzzina but it's on my list as a future one to try for sure. Since we are staying at Boardwalk this trip, I am keeping it open as a dinner option just in case we need one. :)
