March 2012: Spring Break, Here we come! Threadjackers take over the world!

Which means I will actually have to test it... Better do it on a FP that i won't be heartbroken to miss.

Oh, that's right Liddy... How about you rush the stage right before I walk in... I really hate when I walk into a room and the whole room turns in unison to look at me... big fear of mine... So, I volunteer you to create the distraction while I walk in and take my seat. :)

D~

Works for me! :thumbsup2

This is very un-Disney-like, so I don't buy it. I'll be happy to test it on March 7th though. I think if they want to start enforcing things, they should start with other "hot topic" items. Or at least enforce all their "rules" at once. There's too many variables to throw into the mix for this to be 100% legit.

Things happen. People can get held up by slow service at an ADR. A ride could be down the entire window. Someone who left could have ended up on a broken down bus that caused them to miss the window. Lots of variables. I mean, I can see them eventually getting tighter reigns on the FPs, but a 15 minute "late" window is just bad. Bad, bad, bad.

Plus, it doesn't make sense to me that a CM says "No you can't use that late FastPass, but you can use your Big Gulp to get a soda at your resort." :sad2:

Oh... Oopsi, you left your soapbox over there again. Will you please stop leaving it in the middle of the floor? I keep stepping on it and it hurts everyone's eyes. :lmao:

Hmm... this is not the first time this has been rumored. I'm sure glad you March people will go and let me know if this is true before I go in Sept...or November....

I'll be happy to test on March 7th and report back. :thumbsup2 I just don't see it though. ;)

Yep! I'll help test as well. We can see if we get any varied results. :thumbsup2

Here are my thoughts which I posted on another thread this am ............

I guess if TP is reporting the "rumor" too, it must be true. It bothers me slightly since if it starts on March 7th that will be during my MK day on my March trip but I do have to wonder if the new system will make for FP being available for the more popular rides longer into the after noon and evening rather than being gone early in the day as people will no longer be running and grabbing them first thing to use later in the evening as that will no longer be an option.

People complained about the new cc guarentee for certain ADRs but are now finding it easier to book these restaurants as there is availability with people no longer "overbooking/hoarding" ADRs.

I think the same might be true once this new FP system rolls out. How great would it be to arrive at DHS past noon and find you can get a FP for TSM to use before dinnertime?

Before there were FP you either stood in line and waited and waited or you bypassed the attraction/ride and went back later, I do honestly think once they start to enforce return times the FP system will work like it was intentionaly meant to when first implemented.

I can remember being at pm EMH after 9pm @ Epcot and there still were FP to be had for Soar'in with the system the way it is now all FP would have been snatched up hours before by people who planned on returning to EP for EMH after spending the rest of their day at maybe MK or some other place.

You do have a very valid point, and now that I see your perspective, I would have to say that I agree with you. Having the FP run the way it's supposed to would be beneficial, but I have a feeling those first few days of it are going to be a nightmare - because people are so used to the way things used to run - I bet FP still run out right away for the popular attractions... It's gonna be a rough week for us, for sure.

I agree that FPs need to be enforced, but there are too many variables right now. And people will not know that the FPs are being enforced, so I don't see it really helping them last longer. Plus, many people take a FP with the intent to use it during the window (or even later, not knowing it won't be "valid"), and life happens. Odds are, you won't get a FP for TSM after noon anytime soon -- if ever. People will still grab one and hope they can make the window. And there will still be people who just won't know the window is enforced.

Don't get me wrong, I think there are good changes to be had, but I just don't think this is one of them. :thumbsup2 I think they need to be a bit more lenient on their windows to allow for life before a strict enforcing. :goodvibes

Oh, I can see it now ... Looking to trade a 4:30 TSM FP for a 7:30 TSM FP! I can't make my window because of dinner ADR. Anyone, anyone? :lmao:

FP scalping , I can see it now, just watch out for the Mickey Police :rotfl2:

I will join in on the new FP rule testing. I'm also very curious to see if it will be enforced 'hard core' that first day or if it will start with just warnings and then you'll be eased into it. Let's see, March 7th is supposed to be my EPCOT day right now so perhaps I'll give it a try with Soarin' :rotfl: and see what happens. Of course, that's only after I have already been able to ride Soarin' a few times during the week. I'll try the early entry first and then I'll have to try another ride with the 15-minute window to see how that works! IF I get around to this I'll definitely report back...or if I see any knock-down-drag-outs going on with others also trying to get around the new rules I'll try to report AND take pictures! :rotfl:

Expect some texts from me on the 7th to see what is going on Lidian. I am very curious to see if this is going to happen.:confused3:thumbsup2

I'm in!! Curious to see how this new FP policy works as well. We'll have 4 days of the old policy and then 3 days of the new. It WOULD be nice if it meant FP's stayed available longer!

You try it out at Epcot and I'll try DHS. We need someone to man AK and MK. Any takers?

Yes, I'll be watching for pictures, too! Security! :lmao:

Texts are fine, Corrine! I'll also post to the FB group with my findings (as well as live updates on my own FB page). :thumbsup2

Yay Sandy! :woohoo: I'll have 2 and 2 I guess.

However, I'm starting to worry about how this will work out with having Kouga & Akki around. They're supposed to meet us at RD, but I know them. I'll be lucky to see them by lunch. I guess this will mean we don't ride certain things together.

I am NOT passing up TSM FPs this year. They'll be snatched FIRST. With or without the boys, I suppose. :sad2: I guess I'll just have to stress to them about being on time, or they'll be missing out on rides. :confused3

Pictures??? No way...I want VIDEO!!! Could probably start your own YouTube Channel for FastPass denials and the meltdowns that will surely happen...

Fastpass scalpers...can see it now..."I got 2...who needs 2..return time unlimited...." lol

I agree, Video would be better... We could have a whole thread devoted to it on the Community Board...

Scalping would be hilarious!

I will be at MK on the 7th although I have never used a FP I suspose I can see what rides have them and snatch up a few.
Mk hours changed from closing at 8pm to closing at 9pm, Wishes is at 8 so that leaves time to test out and see if they will break the "new" policy on Day 1 and allow the use of late FP's. Of course I have Mr Grumpy with me and after the Desset party he might just want to get back to the resort ASAP.

As for getting back to a FP time I do not have any kids but DH hits more bathroom when we go to WDW than any kid I know, in fact I usually joke about it asking which bathroom next instead of which ride :rotfl:

My DS5 thinks he has to use every public bathroom, ever. So I feel ya there. :lmao:

I knew this was happening because when I went in December I saved my Mickey FP in MK and was about an hour past the time. the CM told me starting January 1 they would start enforcing the times on the Fast Pass.

I honestly think it will help some with Tour Groups maybe one person can get no more than 6 FP per turn.

That way you won't have a guide running up the FP times which is what always happens inevitably.

It is really going to enforce the importance of rope drop.

Well said! :thumbsup2

I do have to say if they roll it out on March 7th as rumored I feel sorry for anyone who planned there park days around a FP type of strategy, which I know I have seen mentioned, cause now they will most likely need to try and re do there daily plans.

I told DH yesterday that I changed our eating plan for our DHS and added 50's Prime Time. He said to me tell me tomorrow, he was heading to bed

I am not going to worry about it, I truly believe he has early onset Alzheimers. A childhood friend of my DS who passed away contacted me a few weeks ago to let me know him and his GF are expecting. I told DH about it, then yesterday he says to me I think PJ and his gf must be going to have a baby they posted an ultrasound picture :headache:
it is Alzheimers or he just does not listen to me at all anymore ........ok done venting had to get that out :rotfl:
