March 2012 - questions & advice

Another few days trickle past and it's now exactly 50 days until D-DAY !!

So, a few more questions. Thanks to all for the advice so far.

I understand you can get a wake up call in the morning and this can be from a character voice thing.

Can you choose which character and how much does this service cost ?

Does the Cheyenne do room service ?

The wake up call is set using the room phone (instructions on the phone). The automated recording on answering the wake up call is from Mickey (no other character choice) and the service is free.

Not sure about room service in the Cheyenne, I've never seen it offered there whereas we have used it in the HNY.

I'm sure I read somewhere that a shuttle bus goes from the hotels to Val d'europe? I think someone has mentioned it here.

I have never been able to figure out that wake up call thing :confused3. Would love to sort it out for our next trip - is it available in all the Disney hotels?

I have a question about the wake up call too! Can you request it in english?

2 weeks today and we are off !!! In fact, we will have been airborne for about 7 minutes at this time :)

Last minute glitches needing ironed out so here goes.

Internet Access

I know about the free wifi at McD's which is great. I also understand there is paid for internet in the hotel and an ethernet in our rooms. Does anyone know how much either of these cost ?

Extra magic

Does anyone know an email address i could use either for the cheyenne hotel direct or a central address to request in advance a kettle, iron etc or whatever we need......... and perhaps get them to sprinkle some extra magic in our rooms ? Don't ask you don't get :)

Paris - pizza hut

On our day trip to paris we might just nip into pizza hut (queue the outrage from food afficianados that we are eating pizza hut instead of fine parissiene food) but our kids love the hut and from their menus they have some amazing "french only" menu items. So in effect we would be sampling parisienne food :P

The question is : Do pizza hut france do any offers like the UK such as kids eat free etc and how would we get a voucher ?

Building works

I read a trip report on a travel site today that said the park looked like a bomb site with JCB's and too much building work. Is it that bad ? Will their be that much in 2 weeks time when we go ?

As you can see they are all very trivial questions and hats thanks to all the massive help we have had in planning using these boards. We havent even got their yet and we are already discussing buying annual passes next time and starting to go 2 or 3 times a year !!!! Anyhoo, tik, tok, 2 weeks to go !!

p.s What does SDD mean ? Seen it in a few excited posts lol and all i could think of was Seven Days to Disney which may or may not be right :)

Sorry, I can't answer the question about a shuttle to Val de l'Europe but going back to the room safes. they definitely are not big enough for a lap top but you can leave them for safe deposit at the hotel check-in desk for free. You are given a receipt to retrieve your valuables again.

Hi, I go 2 weeks on monday!:cool1: Staying in the Cheyenne. So Cheyenne does have a safe in the room then? I asked somewhere else a while ago, and they said there was only a safe to use at reception.:confused3

I have been on the train years ago to the shopping centre and it was very quick! But i dont remember to much about it.
But the last 2 times ive been, we have got a shuttle bus from the SL Hotel, for 5 Euro retun each. but i dont recall any other passengers being on the bus with us when going there.
Returning was always busier, and they do drop off around a few Hotels.

But if the train is 3.50 Euros then obviously be better - Cheaper:) I have seen threads in the past that people have walked it.
I had a look on Google Earth, and there was def some kind of pathway going from the Disney Studios (Nr the R 'n'R coaster) Could be wrong but around there, then literally a straight walk all the way down! Ive never done it myself but doesnt look every far.

19 days until we walk through the DLP gates, ourselves! Save some pixie dust there for us! :)

WOO OHOOOOOOOO !!!!

It's SDD time for me !!
