March 19, 2011 Western on the Magic

Amanda should be updating the FE list on the first page as soon as she can. I was working on sorting my loot to see if there is anything else I need to get. Right now, I think I just need to forget about everything else and go to bed! I can't believe it is so late already! I'm just so excited:banana: I want to go already.

Tomorrow I'm heading to the spa for a facial and get my hair done so it will be grown out enough to look good by the time the cruise sails.

Hi Julia - got you added to the first page of this thread. So excited.

I started working on my FE presents last night.;) Hopefully I can get them done in time.

Amanda 3pm for the meet will work for us. We are planning on leaving the Clearwater area around 8 in the morning. Do you know how much in tolls it is from Clearwater to the Port. Need to figure out how many quarters I need to pack.

We have a Palo brunch reservation on Day 6 at 10:30. We are doing the Jeep Excursion in Cozumel. I have 2 things booked in Grand Cayman and when I figure out which one we are doing I will let you know.

Erin

madmom, Hi - I cannot remember what the tolls are but you won't hit any until you go on the 528 and some tolls are unmanned. There are unmanned tolls so carry some coin on ya. I think a $3-4 each way is more than enough.

I would take 275 to I-4 to 528 towards the airport. Then you just follow the signs to the port. It is about 2:45 to get there. It is an easy trip once you hit I-4. Also if you leave early enough it will be an easy trip all the way.

Welcome Tweet!

I thought I'd subscribed to have emails when new posts came in but I just re-read and I've missed two days of posts - yikes!

Papertraveller - are you on FB? I'd love to hear your take on the parks after Christmas, we were there from the 26th - Jan 1st. We avoided a lot of the big crowds I think because of my rigorous planning but there were some tough spots! Epcot on NYE was cool, but why they handed out noise makers to 80k people at 7:00 pm I'll never figure out.

Can I get some advice on ehem Adult beverage carry on? This is very new to me and sounds so strange...on past cruises I've stashed a couple of bottles in suitcases so to just carry it right on through at check in seems crazy! I'd like to bring a bottle of wine or two and some rum, vodka...gotta have options. So I'll go with everyone on these boards that say you can bring it right through with you...but what if you are coming straight from the airplane and if I fly with it it has to be in my checked luggage. And if I the transfers to port are like Magical Express than they pick up the luggage for you? So basically once I board in Raleigh I don't see my luggage again until outside my stateroom in the afternoon/evening? I am correct here? So if I wrap 4 bottles safely in my checked baggage will DCL confiscate them before my bags get on the ship? Any suggestions or ideas? Do I pick up my bags in MCO, take what I need out and then bring them myself to the port buses?

Are we set on the 3:00 Pm meet in the lounge? I'd like to join the FE but I need some help...I have NO idea what types of things people leave...can you all help with types of things people have left in the past?

Hi Jremmons, yes we are on for the 3pm meet. See my recent posting for more info.

I am not far away from the port. If you like, I can pick up a bottle or two for you and bring it on board for you. PM me if you like.

I just went through the thread and wrote down everyones Info that said they were interested plus what was up front. As far as I can see (nothing Official by any means) we have 14 families in the FE Gift Exchange.

I was also trying to figure out numbers... I want to get some of my packing done really soon!

Hi Julia - can you please compare your list to mine on the first page? let me know if you see anything different. Thanks.

Note to those that are new. There are lots of things happening the first day on board. If you have not done a meet before, you may get on board and think that you will be uncomfortable or be the odd one out. Please come. It is a very welcoming environment and from personal experience, you miss out on so much if you skip it. My first cruise I decided not to go because I thought it would be weird and my husband did not want to go. On my second cruise I insisted my family go and what a wonderful way to meet like-minded folks. Some of those on the meet I hardly saw the whole cruise, but there was always a smile. Others became friends. We threw cabin parties before dinner, went to shows together, danced and won contests together. I am still friends with many today. The great thing about the meet is you can go and then figure out if and whom you may want to spend more time with. If you don’t click with anyone – that is okay. I noticed my daughter, who is extremely shy (you would not know it because she really works at hiding it) has a much better time on board. Everywhere she goes, she runs into kids she met during the meet.

Thanks for the encouragement and kind words! Hope I can twist my husband's arm to come meet everyone!!

ALSBC91 Wanted to join the FE (message 49)

Jasmine wasn't added to your family ...

BFFs you added to Papertraveller Are Actually friends of Mjcoleman. (cut and paste oppsie) :flower3:

Le830 I didn't see a post where they wanted to be added to the FE, I assume that was PM :confused3

Jlindemer requested to be a part of the FE, didn't see where they were having second thought. (I assume PM once again) :confused3

Jremmons and DisneyCrazy2004 (above) are squished together.... not sure if that was intentional

That was all I noticed.:surfweb: after going through it again to confirm my previous notes to yours. Hope that helps.

I am up for tees and lanyards and anything else! I dont have any magnets, this being my first dis cruise. How about a group logo magnet for everyone?

We dont fly in until Sat AM, so cant meet until onboard. But I'll take any job, just let me know what you need help with Amanda. Thank you for the offer to carry on for me ....I think I have a plan now to check a carry on size bag w/o dcl luggage tags and pick that one up from baggage claim when we fly in. Think that should work ok.

Also, just want to point out a correction to the FE list. We do want to participate, i am Jami (also on Facebook) and cruising with my dd Sasha, 10.

Getting close now!!! Whoo hoo!!

Do we have any graphic artists among us (definitely not me!) If we come up with a logo and name for our group, I will be happy to do the t-shirts and/or lanyards.

Jen

We just booked this cruise yesterday. We are a group of 6: Lisa (37), my husband Ed (37), our 3 boys Brandon age 9, Andrew age 5 and Ethan 6 months and my mom Mary (66).

We will be in rooms 6602, 6600.

We would like to sign up for the meet and the fish extender.

Thanks!

Thanks Amanda.

I forgot I asked this question. I figured it would take us about 3 hours to get there. If I tell him we want to leave at 7 we should be on our way by 8. I know my Aunt will want to fix the girls breakfast before we leave.

We don't have tolls in Missouri. Last summer we had no idea you would hit a toll booth every 10 miles or so depending on where you were going. The worse was going to Homosassa to see the Manatees. That day cost us $7 round trip.

Erin

I have had a busy of couple of days I will work on post 122 later on today. Need more coffee before I work on it.

Welcome to everyone new to the group. I am keeping track of what excursions, Palo and dinner seating everyone has made. You can let me know on the board, send me a pm or leave it on the FB page. I will have a printed copy for everyone on the first day.

It looks like the Fury Catamaran is the most popular excursion right now.

T-shirts and lanyards sound fun. I need to find time to make new tie-dyes for our first day.

Off to work on my FE gift. I have alot of work today.

Erin

I LOVE it!!! I knew there would be some serious creative talent in this group. I like "March Magic" too. It is really simple but catchy--sounds like March Madness :)

That Logo looks great!! On the thread earlier we were using the name Mickey's March Mates... I love both... Are we still deciding on a name? I'm working on some personalized magnets and stuff as well...

I love the Lanyard idea and the t-shirts!

Would it be inappropriate to call ourselves Mickey's March Playmates??

Hi Erin,
I don't think I ever gave you our details: We are late dinner seating (but trying to get moved to early), Palo brunch 11 am Day 6 and Key West Trolley. Thanks!

The t-shirts or lanyards sound fun!
