My kids like to trade pins - especially my daughter. I personally have a collection of dragon pins.

We like to trade pins, too, and will definitely be bringing some with us on the cruise in the hopes of trading! What are everyone's favorite pins? I love Stitch and Nemo, and my partner collects Figments and Lion King pins!

FISH EXTENDER EXCHANGE UPDATE!!!

On our last cruise, we had people who signed up for the FE but either canceled the cruise or switched to a different one without telling us. So now that we are past the date to cancel without penalty....please PM me that you are still participating along with the info below.

I was looking at Cruise Critic and a friend of mine told me to come over to DISboards because there is a lot more activity and information being that it is a Disney board.
That being said would it be too late to add a couple of rooms to the FE list?
Let me know and I totally understand if we can't because I am just reading of the 2-15 deadline. I don't know how many yet because I will need to ask them and I don't want to ask if it is too late.
Also, my family is really getting into this whole "pirate party". We will be the group of 11 people with virtually everyone in our group in full pirate outfits. Hopefully we don't look too nutty.

Hi everyone,
My family will be on this cruise as well. It will be me, my DH, our children - DD6 and DS4 and my parents. Four weeks to go and getting very excited!

Jen, my DH and I are taking our 6 year old on the secret river excursion as well. We haven't been, but it comes highly recommended by friends. When I told my daughter that two other girls her age were coming, she was over the moon. Her name is Nora so be on the lookout for us!

This is our first cruise and first Disney cruise. We are so excited. We were able to book Palo dinner and brunch. Also, for Cozumel, we booked the secret river- me, DH, and 6 year old twins for that one. The younger daughter isn't old enough. For Grand Cayman, we booked a mini-submarine so we could all go. DH feels bad about leaving the 3 year old on the boat for Cozumel. I'm wondering if anyone here has done either of these excursions before? Thoughts?

Hi, Tammy...Glad you made it with us!!! We booked through AAA, too. We just rec'd our cruise docs last week. Our agent had them delivered to him and I picked them up at his office. You might want to check with your booking agent. This is our first Disney cruise, too (and our first ever cruise). We are so excited!!! We're counting down the days...our plane leaves in 25 days!!

I would open to including your groups yet but not sure if that's an issue for others who are preplanning for rooms/exchanges. I figure the more rooms involved the more treasures my kids will get excited about in their FE. A couple more rooms for me to plan for is no bother. I really can't make the decision though as I was a very recent addition myself. I can send a PM to Mommyof3Boys (she's been posting the list) to see if it's ok. In case she doesn't check the board every day. Could you possibly post for sure if you want to be included and how many rooms? I will let you know something I just learned. You have to post 10 times in order to be able to private message someone and that was the way you were to get added to this FE. By sending a PM to her. So you could go back through the msgs and PM Mommyof3Boys to get in. But you will need to post a mock message to the board to get yourself up to 10 posts first. I see you have three as of right now, it says how many you have right under your idname in the left column of a post.

Thank you for posting. Our agent was sick. We dropped in yesterday and indeed she had our docs with her. I am so excited because we are getting to crunch time and I really want this to be a great vacation for our family.

Someone else asked in a recent post... how are we doing this? I had asked the same thing awhile ago and did get a PM from someone. Not sure if an email will be sent to the whole group yet. If anyone else has gotten an email can you let us know... hoping my spam filter didn't fish it out. I guess for right now I'm figuring an adult gift for each woman and man. And then I'll do a gift for girls and boys, it might be different depending on the kids ages and the stuff I come up with. Mine will likely be a mixture of handmade and store bought. Sounds like we'll put our names on the gifts (to/from) unless someone has an individual preference of remaining a secret santa. =) As for value... from reading other message boards and seeing pics of other people's gifts, and that one PM I got... I think it varies depending on what you want to do. This is a small exchange so it won't get so pricey as if we had double or triple the exchangers. My total cost for gifts will probably be around $2 per person or in some cases if you think of it by stateroom maybe about $5 total per stateroom. Each person has to be comfortable with what they come up with and how much they spend. These are just my thoughts and maybe a post or email to just the fe list will be going out soon with more instructions... Looking forward to it. I think my kids will enjoy the little gifts and not only that I'm looking forward to walking the ship with them to deliver our gifts.

Yes, we are both adults.

As to how we are doing the FE exchange... personally, we are planning to give one gift per each stateroom on the list, and we were planning to sign our names to ours. I think our gifts will probably be around $5 per stateroom as well, and they are mostly hand-made items.

I just finished making our Fish Extender last night-- I am so excited!

Just as a heads up to everyone-- we are fortunate enough to be doing back to back cruises, and so we will be leaving on March 9th and sailing on the Magic on the 10th, and so I might not be able to check any last minute changes if they get posted while we're away. I'll try to check email on the 17th from my phone though just in case anyone has a change in cabin number!

starseeker, how exactly does double dipping work? are you able to not have to go thru the whole customs and reboarding process b/t trips? if you get the same room do you get to leave your stuff in it? have you done this before? i'd love to talk my husband into doing a LONG cruise sometime... I have never done it before... actually, until this trip, we will have only taken a 3 night cruise, so this will definitely be a different experience for us! (And one that involved a fair amount of on my part, but we are splurging more than usual to celebrate my having finished grad school). We knew we would likely not be cruising again for a while, and I really wanted to be able to take advantage of as much as possible and still have some time to relax. We are a little worried about it being repetitive for some things, but I'm hoping not!

As far as I can tell, we will have to get off the ship in between the two cruises to go through customs, but this is a quicker process than if you were leaving, and we will be able to get re-board relatively quickly and before everyone else boards. We do have the same room for both cruises, and so should be able to avoid packing and unpacking in the middle.. I think we just need to avoid going to our stateroom between 11am and 1:30pm so we aren't in the way while they are cleaning and stuff. I'll be sure to let you know how it actually ends up going after I've gone through it!
