Hello,
I have not, but I am interested in learning more about it. Apparently you can save a lot of money. While I am tempted by the money savings,
I am nervous about the possible complications. One good thing about the Disney-arranged excursions is that if you are on one, I have been told they won't leave you behind at the port.

That was definitely something I was worried about! Not to mention, if something goes wrong, you are more apt to get a good resolution through Disney than not.

I was reading one of the trip reports about the same cruise we are going on and it sounds like sometimes the weather, high seas, or wind force DCL to rearrange the ship schedules. In the one I read, they did not even end up going to Grand Cayman Island. They went to Costa Maya (?) instead. Key West and the other destinations were shuffled around. He had to worry about canceling the excusions they planned on their own. I believe they ended up just rescheduling through DCL and they seemed pleased. I don't know how successful they were in canceling their prearranged excusions.

We are considering trying to set up a Boatswain excursion on our own due to a considerable cost savings. But we don't know... I would hate to buy the tickets in advance (for a discount) just to not even end up going to that island.

It's our 1st cruise!!!!

Cool! I think you'll really enjoy it! I put off taking my first cruise for a long time. Some friends of ours really wanted us to go along with them on the Disney Wonder for a three day cruise a few years back. I did not really think I would like it, but thought I would try it for the benefit of the kids. I ended up loving it! We have taken a cruise on DCL every year since!

On our last cruise my son "meet up" with another child on this site and was able to talk to him on xbox. When they met the first day in the kids area they were past the awkward shy stage.

My son just turned 13 and this is our 6th Disney Cruise. He is very shy until he gets to know you. Loves video games and lives on xbox.

We will be celebrating my husbands birthday on 3/19!
