March 17, 2012 Disney Magic Western Carribean

On our last cruise my son "meet up" with another child on this site and was able to talk to him on xbox. When they met the first day in the kids area they were past the awkward shy stage.

My son just turned 13 and this is our 6th Disney Cruise. He is very shy until he gets to know you. Loves video games and lives on xbox.

We will be celebrating my husbands birthday on 3/19!

DH (Rich 47) DW (Diane 45) DD (Jennifer 17) DS (Alec 13)

We are traveling with my parents also!

Hello,

We are getting to excited. We (DH, DW, DD (10), DS (4)) are really ready for a vacation. My husband has spent the last several nights working on an Extreme Makeover Home Edition home. The reveal is tomorrow and it happens to be his 40th birthday:cool1:

This cruise is his birthday present and we are going to celebrate on the cruise along with my ds who will turn 5 on board.

I have had the cruise booked for over a year and he told me that I never could keep a secret from him.:rotfl2: I did not tell him til right before Christmas when we could book our excursions, not that we have booked any.

We are cruising with friends as well so it will be a great time.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you.

Me, my DH, DD (8 yrs. old) and DD (6 yrs. old) are ready to have some fun! Cruised last Spring Break on the Dream for 4 days and everyone loved it! Hope to have another great experience!

Oh Oh Oh!!! I totally forgot about it being St. Patrick's Day! My kids do not want to wear matching t-shirts on embarkation day but maybe they will if I can find some Irish shirts.

And maybe I should bring some green food dye for the beer just in case :thumbsup2

It doesn't look like anyone is in charge of the FE list. If there are no objections, I can put a list together of everyone who will be participating.

We will have 5...DW, DH, DD (9), DS (3) and SIL. When will we get a list of who all is participating so we can plan what/how much to bring??

We are getting very excited. Only 56 more days:cool1:!!!

Just make sure you wear green...or I'll be looking for you to give you a pinch!

Anyone have any idea what to expect about temperatures at our ports? I'm worried about not taking the right thing to wear...trying to shop for clothes but unsure of the temps. Don't want to over dress or under dress for the weather...also don't want to book an excursion in the water if it will not be warm enough to swim. I've researched on line but what I've found is not very helpful.

The only thing I have to compare it to was our March 2010 trip to Nassau and Castaway Cay. Nassau was raining and chilly. Castaway Cay was sunny, warm and perfect! I had brought a light sweater for the evenings out on deck which I needed but also needed it in the dining rooms as well.
I think it also depends what kind of weather you are used to. Coming from Tennessee, you should be okay to swim! I know we are planning on it.

Oh, I got your PM and will add you to the list :)

Most of our cruises have been in late February or March. You should be fine in shorts in the ports and on deck. A sweater is nice to have for the evenings outside and the air conditioned inside. We're from Florida so the water is usually too cold for me but my kids love it (my kids would be in our pool now if i let them). I do remember being on NCLs private island in February and being in the ocean though so it must have been warm enough.

I have added Green Food Coloring to our packing list:) Along with my daughter's Irish dance shoes, maybe she will give an improv dance on Saturday:) Pretty sure she will, it will be the lightest St Pat's dancing day for her in the last 3 years.

We were on the Dream back to back in March! Does your son go to the kids area? My sons name is Alec. I will find out his Xbox name (he changes it a lot!). Maybe they can talk in the next couple of weeks! -Diane

We were on the Dream last spring break. It would be nice if they could talk before the cruise. When you find out his Xbox name you can PM us! :goodvibes
