March 17, 2007 7 Day Eastern

hope everyone had a great weekend. i love all the trip reports!! i hope we have great weather. what , if anything, are you all looking to buy in the islands? just curious.

Hi
Thank goodness it's warming up in T-town! We're all getting excited about the upcoming cruise and I have a quick question.

I know some of you have been on more than 1 Disney Cruise and maybe you can answer this question for me. This will be our 2nd Disney cruise and we all have Castaway Club numbers registered. Will everyone get something special or is there only 1 "gift" per room? I am wondering how to split 1 gift bag between the kids?
Thanks in advance
Trudy

If I'm not mistaken, I think everyone who is a CC member will get the pin/lanyard when you check in at the port. However, I think there is only one gift per stateroom as far as the other stuff goes (the bag and goodies in it). Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that is what we will get in just six short weeks.:cool1:

I don't know about the CC gift, I guess I just assumed it was one per stateroom but I don't know.

What am I looking forward to about the islands? Sunshine and warm sand!! Anyone who has been on the eastern before, have you ever been to Divi Little Bay Resort on St Maarten? I was reading about it on the cruise critic board and it sounded like something my kids would like, a beach that doesn't have big drop offs or currents, jet skis, swimming pools, snorkeling, and what I would like chairs and umberellas.

Susan--The Nov 08 Double Dip is looking more promising now DD is working on DH too :thumbsup2 It's her birthday tomorrow, would it be wrong to put her up to asking him for a cruise? She is DHs princess! (she was disappointed that Andy was a boy until I pointed out that she would still be daddy's little girl and wouldn't have to share him).

The Castaway Club members get one gift per stateroom. In June we received a nice Disney beach bag. We didn't receive lanyards and pins when we checked in!

Looking for to just relaxing on this trip and Castaway Cay!

Have a blessed day!
Charlene

When we cruised last July, all CC members received a lanyard and 2 pins when checking in at the terminal.

We had 2 rooms and there was a CC gift (sort of draw-string tote bag) in each stateroom. Based on recent trip reports, I think we can anticipate similar gifts. Personally, I prefer the old black travel bags or beach towels.

Also, there is a reception for Castaway Club members on one of the 'sea' days. The food is not as nice as it used to be, but there are still free drinks!

Stacie--I hope you put DD up to asking DH about the double dip! Let me know what he says. The girls would be thrilled to find out they get to go on two cruises together!:cool1: How could dear dad say no to his little princess? I know mine has a hard time saying no.:rolleyes1

Susan--We're working on him. Nov of 2008 seems so far away but we booked our Dec 2007 cruise in March of 2006. I keep pushing the point of the onboard discount, you can't beat 10% off, for two staterooms that's a lot of $$$.

Keep on working, Stacie! I know it does seem like it is a long, long ways away, but I like to have a long time to save enough money to pay for it!:goodvibes My DH sounds like yours. When I first approached him about it, he acted as if it was way too far away to sound all that interesting. However, he did give me the okay to go ahead and book it. I'm still hoping for a better deal when we get onboard in March though. Actually, I think my DH is just worried that the 08 trip is ALL he is going to hear about for the next year and ten months.:lmao: Afterall, I haven't been able to sleep at night! Between our spring break cruise and the Thanksgiving DD in 08, I'm going to definitely drive my family nuts!:rotfl2:

Trudy--Here is a thread that was on the main board. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1350161 It has a link to a pic of the current gift. It looks like there is two of most things so each of your girls should be happy, and you'll get to keep the bag it all comes in, everyone wins!!

DS is home from school today. He has the cold that everyone else has had. There were 67 kids out of 375 missing from the middle school on one day last week. He is supposed to be reading (he's behind on his book) and taking it easy. So far he has played the Nintendo DS games that DD got for her birthday yesterday, been online for awhile, and asked to play Legos. Somehow I feel like I got suckered.

Stacie--sorry about your son. We've had LOTS of kids gone from our school over the last several weeks. The weird thing is that they all have different stuff. We've had strep throat, high fevers that last anywhere from 3-5 days, and vomiting. I've had anywhere from 5 to 6 kids gone every day this week. I hate it when it's like that.:confused3

I'm still here! I had parent teacher conferences this week, so I've barely had a chance to be on the computer. But, I get tomorrow off! Yeah!!!:thumbsup2 Maybe I'll go "cruise" shopping!:) I've been buying stuff for this cruise since the first week we booked it, so when I finally get around to packing I'll probably find way more than I thought I had! My friend teases me because I keep buying dresses for formal night. She's pretty sure that I could provide a dress to every senior girl for prom this year.:lmao: Not really!

In just 5 short weeks we'll be on our way to Port Canaveral!

I'm still here too. I've been busy at work which cuts in to my disboard time...I plan on doing some cruise shopping this weekend too. The kids have swimsuits but need sandals and my son needs some nicer short sleeve shirts for dinner that aren't T-shirts.

:cool1:

I just need to go through the kids' closets and try to coordinate our outfits for dinners and stuff. I just remembered this morning about the family portraits they take. What does everyone else plan to wear for that photo? We didn't have that on our 3 night cruise as far as I know, so I'm not sure what to have us wear.:confused3

Hey guys! Been a little under the weather. Five weeks left to go and I've got to get serious about shopping and organizing. Has anyone got a really good "what-to-pack" list? I finally bought a dress for formal night and one other one I just couldn't resist. I rarely go shopping for myself...it's always for the kids. Now if I could just get my husband to break down and get a nice suit! Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays warm!
