March 17, 2007 7 Day Eastern

Susan--I saw on the news this morning that you guys were going to get hit again. It's supposed to be here around midnight and not end until noon tomorrow.

I'm ready for the cruise, and the weather, I'm not sure if my fellow cruisers are ready for my pasty white legs in shorts (I guess everyone will know that I'm from the midwest) :rotfl:

I'll be right there with you! It will be very obvious we're from the midwest if we're seen together!:rotfl2:

Sima,
We live in Riverchase. My 10 year old son goes to Riverchase Elementary school, where does your son go to school?

Welcome Irish Cowboy! It is great to have more southerns on this cruise. My family is from Montgomery!

I hope everyone in the midwest is doing well with the weather. We've had rain today and a little cold.

Looking forward to the cruise!

Well, our information packet from Disney finally arrived yesterday.:lmao: It is the booklet that highlights the excursions, gifts, etc. that was mailed out way back on October 18th. We are booked with Expedia and when I found out that our friends who were booked with DCL had received their packet months ago, I called Expedia to find out where mine was. They said that they do not mail that stuff out. They told me to look on the internet.;) To my surprise, they do mail that stuff out. They just hold on to it for about three months and then mail it.:rotfl: I hope this isn't a sign of when we should expect our documents for the cruise.:rolleyes1 Have a good day everyone!
Susan

Susan--Glad you finally got your stuff. You can let your DD know that my DD isn't ignoring her she's just sper busy right now.

Has anyone been to WDW before in Mid-March? Tourguide Mike and the Unofficial Guide both are scaring me a little bit with the crowd ratings. I'm hoping that they're wrong. We really don't have big plans though, it will just be nice to be in the world again.

disneypoor,
We also booked with Expedia and just received our information packet last friday - I'm not impressed with their service!

Stacie,

We were in WDW last year over spring break --- I don't remember any significant crowds --- no worse than the summer. I do remember FL being really crowded one night, must have been one of the extra hours nights. As long as you're flexible, which is a given with Baby Andy, you'll be fine. Just soak up the magic!!! Wish I was going to get to go to the World too.

IrishCowboy--let's just hope we get our documents for checkin at the terminal. If it makes you feel any better, I did call DCL to see what would happen if we didn't get them before we left, and they said we'd still be able to get on the ship.;) However, they did say to make sure we do everything online before we leave. There was a post earlier about Expedia and how some people never did receive their documents until they returned from their cruise. Needless to say, we won't be booking with Expedia again. I don't care how much money it might save me.:sad2:

DutchGirlScout--don't feel bad at all about the girls and their emailing. My DD has also been busy and has hardly been on the computer over the last week or so. She kindof goes in spurts. Sometimes she's on it a ton and others she is hardly on it at all. Not me---my husband think I have issues when it comes to the computer.;) I guess he'd like some attention.:confused3

I'm also concerned about how big the crowds will be. I've seen the crowd level predictors for March. We're used to going October when they are a 4. :cool1: , but most of March is 8 - 9's :scared1:

My DW wants to do MK after we get off the boat 24th, or possibly 25th before we catch our flights back home. I think her main reason for wanting to go to MK is the New Monster's Inc. attraction with Mike. Mind you, I've heard there have been some issues with this show:surfweb: , that they've closed it for the time being, while they work a few of the kinks out. I'm wondering if it will even be open!

Have any of you been keeping an eye on the nasa.gov website? There is a space shuttle launch scheduled for the 16th (day before our cruise) Wouldn''t it be cool if they were to delay a day, and we could all catch it on the back deck of the "Magic" ?:dance3:

Years ago, I was in Orlando working for a week or so and I was sitting on a Saturday at Cocoa Beach when the shuttle came back on "piggyback" of a plane. That was so cool!
A launch would be great to see!

We've been filling out our paper work on line. . .it made check in go so much faster. . .looking forward to meeting everyone!

Have a great week.

That would be so cool!!! The December double dip that we were supposed go on got to watch the launch from the Magic. I didn't have the heart to tell my kids because I felt so bad. I guess this would make up for it. :)

We are going on the march 17th cruise too!! I am so excited I cant wait!! It will be dw, dh and 5 ds's. My parents are going too.

:welcome: :welcome: POP 5!

FYI : For all of us staying at the Radisson on Friday. . .you need to call now and make your reservations on the shuttle for the port! I thought we had to wait until 2 weeks prior but you don't! We are on the 10 a.m. shuttle to the port.

Have a great Wednesday!

Charlene

pop5, welcome to the DIS boards and the cruise. The more the merrier!! We have a group website set up, you can read Jen's first post in this thread for more information. March 17 is coming quickly!!!!

Irish Cowboy,
My son goes to South Shades Crest. He's in 3rd grade there. I've always lived in the Hoover area and love it.

Are any of you guys signed up for any excursions? I've only signed up for the parasailing at CC. I've never done it before and neither has my son. We're both very nervous, but I think we'll love it.:scared:

Sima

The parasailing at CC was awesome! We did it on our cruise last June and loved it. In fact, we'd do it again if it wasn't so expensive.;) Both of our kids did it as well. We went tandum and each had a child with us. It was really cool!

Does anyone know what time of day they usually do the shuttle launches? I looked on the website and saw that one was scheduled for the 16th but didn't see a time.

I know I always say things like this:rolleyes1 , but I can't believe our cruise is only six week and so many days away! Six weeks sounds soooooo close!

I'm answering my own question about the shuttle launch. I went on to their website again and now it says that the launch is March 15 instead of 16. It also says that it is at 6:43 a.m.:sad1:
