March 15-22, 2008 Eastern - Way-Way Early Check In

Yep. I'm not getting much done other than surfing the boards! Went swimsuit shopping yesterday, so that chore is done!

I'm cashing in my Disney points from my Disney Visa today. That makes it all too real. Only 5 more weeks.

I am also in high gear for the cruise. I have been working on door magnets.
I'm doing each of our 3 doors with a different theme. We've got pirates, princesses and of course Mickey. Nothing elaborate. I am beginning to put together outfits for the kids and making sure things still fit. I'm also hoping my clothes still fit!

DD9 is getting excited as well. From the looks of the recent Navigator she'll be extremely busy - lucky girlprincess:

This cruise is all we talk about in my family! We discuss the navigators and what each of us want to do. My two youngest dds (10 & 9) are excited about meeting the other kids on the cruise. I am having a hard time containing myself!!

I am glad I am not the only one. We have all the suitcases out and are slowly starting to sort all the items we have been putting in them over the last month or so.

There sure are going to be a lot of DD8-10. My DD will be turning 8 on 3-15. What a day to board the Magic huh? princess:

I hope I won't sound stupid, but where do you guys find all the navigators.
are they for our cruise?

Kids are 10 and 7 and can't wait - the countdown is on big time.
I use to work on cruise ships for 4 year and can't wait to go back as a passenger, especially on a Disney cruise.

It is going to be so awesome.

:welcome: disneycrazy2004! I've added you to the list of cruisers on page 1 post #8.

You'll also find a list of scheduled meets there too!

This is so amazing:banana:
I can't wait, and so can't my family. Thank you so much for the welcome and all the information. This is a great website.
Can't wait to meet you all. Are you bringing your own pirate's costumes?
The pirates party seems to be pretty awesome.
pirate:

My boys and dh all wear just pirate t -shirts. I have a pirate skirt that I wear. People seem to get into it more once they get onboard. People are buying last minute pirate items in the gift shop. For those wondering, they are alot of people not dressed up too.Either way, you wouldnt feel out of place.

By the way, last year we were on this same cruise and it also feel on St. Patricks Day. It is often hard to tell the "St. Paricks green" from the "dis green". It seemed like green shirts and beads were everywhere in the terninal. Just thinking outloud...

Last cruise, my kids and I wore costumes. It seemed to be a 50/50 kind of thing - half wore costumes and half didn't. They provided bandannas at dinner - so you could join in if you wanted.

This time, we're just going to do shirts. My girls got really cute matching pirate shirts (Margaritaville - Yes, I am a pirate) so that's what they are going to wear. I liked the costume thing, but I'm trying to minimize my packing this time - and the costumes were a little bulky.

Good point! Do you have any suggestions about how the kids meet can stand out in the terminal?

The posts are really starting to pick up now......a whole page in one day.......I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!

We are wearing pirate shirts and eye patches. My dd wanted a little "hook hand". We found these on clearance after Halloween.

My mom is really getting excited. She called me this morning and I LOVED hearing the excitement in her voice. She's never been on a trip like this!
She adores meeting new people. She's a hoot.

It will be great putting the faces with the screen names. I didn't think about the green beads problem. Has anyone thought of anything. I could have my 13 yo ds hold up a sign - Think he'll do it? I can hear it now --"Moooooooom!
are you serious?"

We had a snow day today - lot's of freezing rain, sleet, and ice. Come on cruise time!

I can't believe it is almost here! We just got back from WDW for one week and my husband told me less than 5 weeks!!! I could use warm weather right now since it was -2 this morning. Being in Florida that one week thinned my blood.

I finally located my list of clothes that we actually used on a cruise a few years ago. I always go by that list and I don't overpack. I thought it was long gone but I had stored it with my receipts from jewelry purchases from the islands. I always bring those because I don't want customs to accuse me of not paying my duty fees. I have never been asked but better safe that sorry.

I just need to buy my daughter a new dress for the formal nights, she just keeps growing and maybe a new one for me.

Our son's girl friend's son, soon to be age 7, doesn't know this but on his birthday 2/14 he is getting a pirate costum we bought at Mouse Gear. We even bought the gold coin from the 1st Pirates movie so he can wear that around his neck. As far as the adults, we never dress up. I do like the Pirate party a lot. Every time I see it I do get reminded of a what a cast member told me about the early stages of the pirate party--the pirate sliding across from funnel to funnel slide right into the new Jumbo Movie Screen and broke it! Now that had to cost a pretty penny to fix.

29 more nights at home before we fly out to WDW for two nights then on to the ship! :cool1: Kathy

Finished making my door magnet today. Wasted one magnet sheet when I didn't realize my color cartridge was low. Yucky colors came out.

I have a big green tree frog on it, and he is holding a minature of the Disney Magic in his front feet. Mickey is on one of his shoulders and Minnie is on the other. I know there will not be another magnet like it on the ship. :)

My family has a comforting connection to frogs and my deceased husband. You would not believe the stories we have about them. :goodvibes

So ready for this cruise!!:cool1: There is just not another vacation like a Disney cruise. Every time we go , I am always much more excited than my kids. Anyone else the same way??

Silly question :-)

Of course I'm at least... *probably* more excited than the kids. I've been waiting longer for it than they have known about it :goodvibes

Datewise - one month from tomorrow it's time to catch the plane :-)

I have pirate-wear (actually I'm volunteering at a "Privateer Feast" fundraiser for MS research next week)... but I think I'm just bringing along my PotC I t-shirt. DD has a bandanna with a map of the Carribean that she's planning to wear, but no one else in the family is into costumes.... well, not much - my daughter will wear a costume to the renaissance festival when she goes... another thing I need to do this summer, she out-grew the old outfit and needs a new one.

Oh, and speaking of that festival... if any of you watch "Dinner: Impossible" on the Food Channel, if you saw the "Medieval Merriment" (hey, we didn't name it - Henry VIII wasn't medieval :-) then you've already caught a glimpse or several of me - only glimpses, I did a very good job of staying behind the cameras, sneaking in and out most of the day.

We will be at the same airport and on the same day you will be leaving, Liz. Unfortunately we don't leave until around 7pm. My daughter wants my grandson to finish most of his school day first. Even though he is talented and gifted, his school does not like him missing any classes for vacations.

She was still lucky to get a non-stop flight to Orlando. They were scarce so close to Easter.

You'll be leaving before us - in fact I don't think we'll get to the airport much before that time (we've a 9something flight). Not only do both kids have school, but I teach, so even *thinking* of missing the day before spring break is right out (they kinda frown on that even more than kids missing :-) Lucky me, I have students almost up to bell ring time - though at least it's the earlier release time school... I finish before DD does.

*She* is not thrilled at missing gymnastics practice, but she'll live (hey, compared to going on a vacation cruise :-). I told her to remind me to look into finding a place that she can at least manage a decent stretch and conditioning exercises several times during the trip - she's missing 6 practices during the trip, including that Friday night. I called to ask advice and was told to ask at guest services when I board. I'm trying to remember if the area in the Club around the climbing structure was padded - because if nothing else she could use that area if we can get permission. Unfortunately, the spa's exercise area is out... and *some* padding is needed if at all possible, or she gets sore from the floor.

Sigh... I was grateful to have another day to rest, and catch up on some work (I've had a nasty cough more on than off since the beginning of October, and it came back with a fury last week). But I don't like stretching the end of the school year out another day (not to mention not getting to see my classes today - messes up my planning for at least one of them :( )

But *oh* am I looking forward to the cruise after the weather yesterday and today! (and a mini-yay - I got the news that *my* class was cancelled tonight, so no hour drive each way at least - downside is it's more likely that that annoying computer has to go with me on the trip :-( )
