March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

Snowbound here in Toronto as we got a foot overnight into today. Kids schools were closed for the first time we can remember.

This cheer should be something to see - looking forward to it. Cheer seems to be a uniquely American activity since it is not really big here in Canada. DD12 (Maeve) would probably help out with some form of talent. She does not do cheer but does do competitive dance in: tap; jazz; ballet; musical theatre; lyrical; contemporary; modern; and hip hop (if she did not dance we could travel in a suite). No acro. She might be suited better to some Irish dancing as she could probably pick that up faster. She also goes to an arts school for voice so she can belt out a cheer.

This snow on the ground really makes me want to get out of here for a week. It also makes me nervous that we might get hit with something when we fly out on March 11.

Happy packing to those who are snowbound and are doing that to pass the time.

Here is the cheer team...
Melissa is going to make bows (thank you so much)
I think green is an awesome color choice. Sound good? Maybe we could do solid green tshirts and write their names with puffy paint on the front?

Misand (13)
Ashley (12)
Bridget (12)
Genny (12)

I think there is only one Taylor age 10, I counted her in my list too, she cheers at the same gym as Ashley

Hi there fellow canuck!

Our school board cancelled school today as well. The last couple of storms has been transportation cancelled but schools opened. I was soooo happy to not go in to work today ( Halton Catholic Board).

Sounds like we have a lot of talent on this cruise! Can t wait to see the performance!

Ok, I counted Taylor in from the post from minniemamax2 and you Erin?? Are they the same person? I just do not want to count her out and then she would not have a cheer bow.

dukebombay...Maeve is more than welcome to join the cheer group. Just let us know if she is going to do the cheer so Melissa can make her a bow.

What color green are we talking about? Hannah is getting excited. :cheer2:

Any shade of green is totally fine. We can do green shirts with their names put on them with puffy paint and whatever design each girl wants to do and black soffee shorts. Do not forget to pack or have them wear tennis shoes on the ship.

Where should we meet / practice?

party:Finally got my room We are in 6590!! We are thrilled!!! So happy.

secretly I wish they would have given me one across the hall from my parents on deck 5, but hey, I have a room #

Who's by me, I'm room #6045???

Question, what if Pixie Dust grants someone on our FE list an upgrade. How will everyone on their list know their new room #?

Did you look at the deck plan.....we aren't far apart :)

I am so happy we finally have a number. My dh wants to know what I am going to obsess over now :lmao: Maybe about when my cruise docs will arrive!!!!

Yes, same person. She is also on here again as Misand (10). Sorry for the confusion. I responded before I realized others had responded about my daughter.

Also, if they use the same stage for the talent show that was used on previous Disney cruises we have been on, it may be hard to do much with this many girls. The stage was not very big.

Don't want to be the negative one but does green and black really go together? If we decide it does should we all make sure we at least get the same shade of green? Does one person want to do the shirts and we all pay for them or do we each get our own? It would probably look a lot better if they were all exactly alike but I am not crafty at all so I can't volunteer for that job.

If someone wants to get the shirts we could all reimburse them.
As for when to meet, how about right after the Adventures away party. Location ideas??

According to the Navigator's that were posted the show will be in wave bands. I'm not sure how big that stage is.

Also, is there someone who wants to choreograph this? Will they be performing to a song? Which song?

I'm not a cheerleader, but I'm a theatre teacher and a dancer. I could come up with something, but it won't be cheer.

Ideas, suggestions??

If wave bands is like rock 'n Bar D on the Magic, the stage is REALLY small. All the girls listed will NOT fit on that stage.

Where are you staying near Ontario Airport?? We are also staying near the airport!! Our shuttle leaves at 9 AM.

Actually we're staying in Rowland Heights, near family. It's not real close to Ontario, but closer than other airports. We were going to have family drive us down and then keep our van for the week, but that changed last month. Now we are having friends in Downey hang onto our van while we're gone.

Beats paying for parking.

We are staying near Ontario because my sister lives about 10 minutes from the airport. We have rented a shuttle to take us to the port on Sunday. They are suppose to pick us up at 9 AM. I hope they are on time. I will be so ready to get on the road.

Did everyone that did the online check in pick the 10:30 arrival? Does that time fill up? I wonder how many people can arrive at that time? I really don't think it will work. I think people will still arrive when they want too!

Next question is.....have your cruise doc's arrived yet??? :lmao:

Our Board (Toronto) was closed today too. Our kids schools were open but the buses were cancelled so we stayed home and watched Toy Story 3 among other things.

How about a Canadian Dismeet (Toronto area)? We could do Dave and Busters too!! :0)
