March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

Wow, no school tomorrow here in Kansas City. I'm about sick of this horrible weather. Let's all cross everything we've got that we don't total another vehicle. 15 days can't come soon enough~

Wow Denise!! Your kids will be making up snow days until July....:sad2:

What an erie feeling....waking up to the tornado siren going off in town at 11:45 PM!!! Has anyone heard the siren before? It is so erie. We were up until 12:15 AM, luckily not too long. High winds, rain & tornado possibilities! We have really tall pine trees in our yard. We are always afraid of them falling, so with high winds, EVERYONE is up!!! Think we need a nap today!

Tara how did you fair in your part??

14 days!!

Hi everyone...snow here in St. Louis too but mine have school, thankfully, although it is only a half day (previously planned). I am nervous...I have a booth at a huge convention this weekend. It is my second year doing it so I don't know why I am nervous but I am ;). Long weekend ahead...3 very long days.

The time change in Puerto Vallarta has definitely caused some challenges...the port authority is telling the shore excursion company one thing while Disney says another. We decided to keep the whale watching, and they said they'd wait for us since there are 15 total that I have booked.

There are 12 of us in my immediate party...originally I was taking 4 whale watching and the rest were going on a snorkel and beach day on Colomitos. Then some of us were ziplning in Cabo. The zipline no longer works because of the timing, so now I'm taking 7 of us whale watching and the rest are ziplining in Puerto Vallarta. I'm now taking 4 of us to do the DCL Pacific horseback ride on the early Cabo day, the others are staying onboard. Then, for the longer Cabo day, we have tentatively booked the DCL resort day...not totally thrilled, we really wanted to go somewhere to swim in the ocean. The shore excursion place I use is looking for other options, but for now that is the plan. At least we can see and touch the ocean, lol. And the kids will enjoy the swimming.

Excursions have been really difficult for this one, I think I had less trouble deciding on excursions on the 11 day Med, which seems strange to me!

Still have many things to do, like decide what to do in LA!

Hope, we have only been in Oklahoma for 4 1/2 years and tornado season still scares me but I am getting a little more used to it. The first couple of years I did not get a lot of sleep during the spring months. Anytime I heard wind or realized it was storming, I was up the rest of the night. Now I just wake up, check the TV in the bedroom and if the weatherman is not on, I just go back to sleep. Yes, the sirens are an erie sound.

In April '09 we had a "Gravity Wave" which causes high winds. It was like an Inland hurricane. The winds were coming off the top of the Mountain behind us and hitting the trees, it was an awesome sight. I am so glad I stood on my front porch and watched it. We lost about 8 pine trees that night. We could here and see trees snapping all over the neighborhood. Luckily none hit the house. We were probably stupid for standing on the front porch, but it was amazing! We didn't have power for 3 days. So now when the winds pick up, we take notice.

I am going to go check out Unclaimed baggage tomorrow and see if I can find a formal dress for DD. I hate that people loose their luggage, but hey, we benefit from it :) The books are a great price there as well.

It was 74 here Thursday. Today in the 50's. Spring in the south!

Another thread is discussing men in tuxes. My DH will wear a tux on formal night but doesn't want to be the only one.

Any other tuxes for formal night? :confused3

I am wearing tux pants and jacket but I will have a regular dress shirt with a Mickey tie. Not a bowtie, just a standard.

It's only gonna hit 70 today!! Sick of the cold. 80 degrees next week, top will come off my car for sure :)

This happens in Ohio a lot....we had a tornado blow through the south end of the city last year that tore up a college campus and flipped houses left and right. (It's never good when the news station says "We'll just let the devastating pictures tell the story....") If you hear a siren, go to your basement.....immediately. They can come fast and hard...and their path is very unpredicatable!

That said...it makes dreaming of a lounge chair by the pool all that much more sweet!

Well guys with the cold that Southern California is seeing we all better bring jeans and a jacket because it is going to be cold the first and last day of our cruise. Plus, if you battle seasicknesss (like me) better bring medicince because with all the storms we have had the water is probably going to be rough.

Ok enough negative stuff.....We are going to still have so much fun!!! We are leaving for California 2 weeks from tomorrow and I cannot wait!!

I am thinking possitive for great weather. It's gonna be sunny, warm and clear with smooth seas. :)

I leave for L.A. 2 weeks from today!!!
2 weeks 1 hour and 26 minutes to be exact!!!

2 Weeks from today we leave for this wonderfull vacation. Busy few weeks for us in this house but what's getting us through it is we will be playing with Mickey. My main mission is trying to keep everyone well since sickness seems to be playing havic on the City of Alb. Have a great weekend everyone and know that in a few weeks we will all be on a great boat!

Hope!

Thanks on the bean planting time! :) My Dad's scientific approach was to say to reach your hand 6 inches into the soil and when you don't feel a chill anymore, plant! :)

Well, turns out our tornado sirens were BUSTED!! Everyone this morning said they went off for 2 hours from 11pm-1am..I was on the treadmill at 11pm right next to the window and heard nothing! They said 5 sirens were out...luckly, no trees down, we have huge trees in the front yard well over 100 years old..if they fall, our house is doomed. Time to thin those puppies out at the top!

Ha! Cars...we're practical, what can I say, Prius and Toyota Sienna that has over 200k miles on it..and is over 12 years old! :) That's how we can afford this trip...traded in our Tundra..the gas savings alone are over 5k a year! :)

Found a dress at Marshall's for my dd..but she needs to try it on..worried it's too low cut for her...ugh!

Can't wait to see this crazy eclectic crew! ;)

Our new spinner luggage I ordered for the cruise came today!!! We can start packing some.

I had another bad dream. This time I'd forgot our passports.

Soooo much to do! Can you believe it is 2 weeks?

Look at the bright side. Those of you that are doing DL before the cruise will have much shorter lines. I have a friend that went last week and wait times for the major attractions was only 5-10 minutes.:cheer2::yay:

You might be able to put a nice Cami under the dress if it's too low cut.

I am crossing my fingers... We go to DL several times a year and we go when crowds are at its lowest! I refuse to go when there are lines. I know its the beginning of spring break, so if there are super long lines I may go crazy. Guess Im just spoiled having the park to ourselves.

Its been a hectic week...
Finishing the details for DH's Fundraiser (watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32AzsyV2J0E)
DD birthday today. She is 9 and wants to have a sleep over party. 12 girls and counting.
Last but not least, month end papers at work!
I know it's coming, but I havent had time to get excited.

I just canceled my 70 minutes spa treatment (wrap & massage on the 1st sea day at 3 pm. It will prob be avail for a little while if anyone wants to grab it.

Now off to get a local massage and come back and clean. Shopping later for FE gifts. I don't have a thing yet and most of you already have cute, homemade things ready.

Oh, and that elusive search for a swim suit.

Just cancelled my "alone time " for day 5, last night. It's already gone.
Just couldn't justify $200.00 for myself. Looks like I will just be getting a spa pass.......maybe a spa special will be available:sad1:

I'll be in the rainforest....you can join me :) 13 days and counting!!!
