March 13, 2011 - DREAM

Add two more Texans to the list! I think we might have gotten one of the last rooms available. Just DH and I because I don't think our cats would like being on a boat. We're arriving at the Contemporary on the 11th and spending the 12th at the MK.

Welcome Juliebug1997. Guess which state has spring break in March? My DH and I are in our own stateroom but traveling with our 10 yr old DGD, her parents, and her other grandparents. Glad to have all the Texans and the Houston area folks onboard.

Does anyone know of any pictures of the front of the boat staterooms? I think I found one but would sure like more info if anyone has it. Also about the FE, do you put your name or any identification on the items you bring? I am new to this and am not sure. Seems like my DH and I (well really me) are the only ones on the list without kids. Guess I never did grow up, especially when it comes to Disney.:cool1:

HI long time since I have checked...I am back on the boards and cannot wait!!! Whoo hooo

We went on the Wonder last year on the 4 night cruise and there wasn't a dress up night. I wonder if that has changed?? We are also driving in from Texas, Houston area! So, excited to be going on the Dream!!!

Me:cheer2: DH :happytv: DS (15) :cool1: DD (4) princess:

It is a Texan & Canadian boat. We are flying in from Austin on Saturday, staying in PC. We are staying at AKL afterwards. We also have a 15yo son, and three daughters (the bane of his existence -- 13, 10, & 8). This is our 2nd cruise, I am also taking the girls this July on a 5 night while DH & DS go to South Africa on a safari (16th BDay trip of a lifetime for DS).

My son is very excited about all the Texans coming on the trip, he made a TON of friends on our last Disney cruise, so he is especially excited about this one! He was able to hang out with some of the kiddos even at parks when we got off the boat.

Reminder: 2 WEEKS UNTIL FE LIST CLOSES !!!!Please look at link in post #240 (pg 16) and let me know if any info needs to be updated. Also, for any newcomers to the list, feel free to send me your info and I will add you and your family, accordingly.

Thanks, and hope all are well :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to meeting everyone soon!

Welcome fellow Texan! We live in Grand Prairie and will be with family from Northeast Ft. Worth and Hurst! DFW will be represented!:yay:

Did your DS do the Pinewood Derby? We're going for weigh-in tonite :scared1: and then the Derby is tomorrow am. Wish us luck :thumbsup2
How was it? Ours was last weekend, and I was out of town. DH said weigh-in was an absolute nightmare, but DS brought home the trophy for most colorful car, so he was thrilled. How did your DS do?

Congrats to your DS!!!! Weigh-in for us was a breeze (had to add 2 pennies for weight), but he finished 8th out of about 20 Tiger Cubs.....not a happy camper :sad2: since only the top 5 got trophies. Thought we had a cool design too (a football!), but all the ones that the dads helped them with were the ones that won something. Go figure :confused3

So I thought maybe I would surprise them with the cruise later that day, to cheer him up, but we were so busy I didn't have time! However, this week is supposed to be arctic cold - I mean wind chills in the single digits/teens, snow/ice, etc. And this could last 3-4 days. Now I'm thinking I'll do the "Reveal" Tues or Wed nite, to give them something to "warm up" to :thumbsup2

Long time since I've checked in. As an FYI, just to let everyone know, it is Spring Break week for most of Alabama as well. We ran in to people a few weeks back through casual conversation that were also booked on this cruise (or maybe it was the one on the 17th...). At any rate, I'd expect a few Alabamians on as well...

Anyone else doing the Atlantis Aquaventure on the Monday in Nassau?

Looking at the forecast for the week -- praying that our neighborhood propane tank holds out. My 7th grade daughter, who normally likes riding the bus because of a certain couple of cute boys decided that they aren't cute enough to stand out in those temperatures.

Put some little umbrellas in their drinks or dinner Tuesday or Wednesday, they will think you are insane and make them guess what it means.

FYI -- I just cancelled 630 Palo reservations for our At Sea day, if anyone wants to grab them right now!

I just called Disney and got two Rainforest passes for our at sea day. They are 16.00 each and let you use spa facilities, including hot tubs, for the day. I've heard they only issue thirty for any one day.

....Anyone else doing the Atlantis Aquaventure on the Monday in Nassau?

I've signed us up for it! Might cancel it though if the weather looks bad or the family changes their mind and wants to walk to the Pirate museum, straw market, etc. I'm thinking the ship is going to be packed that day, so it might be nice to get off for awhile :thumbsup2

...but now I don't know if I want it :confused3 We usually eat dinner here (central time) early b/c of sports and school activities, so I thought the late dinner would be a huge bust for the kids. Now I don't know....am thinking we'll be rushed? Has anyone had the early seating before and taken kids to the kids' clubs before the show? We might do that...

Kind of bummed too b/c I saw a bunch of us on the FE list at the 2nd seating and 7pm show with kids the same age :sad2: Don't know whether to keep it or switch back?!?!

We have main seating too. our family always eat dinner around 5:00.....I thought late dinning might have the kids a little agitated. IDK:confused3

We've always had the late seating with our twins (now 8). There's something about not being rushed to get ready for dinner.

I've personally relished in being the last passenger off of Castaway Cay a couple times. You can't do that if you're having the early seating.

We'll undoubtedly have a late snack for the kids that will tie them over for the show. But we enjoy having the kids SLEEP IN. ::yes::

Happy February. We had all the windows in the house open Sunday afternoon...This morning we awoke to sleet pelting our northern bedroom window between 3 and 5:30 am. Everything looks pretty iced in. Schools are closed, and it is really quiet outside. Called granddaughters, and they said they want to build an ice man. Ha! Waiting to see how "media day" turns out for the Supper Bowl, but as for me, I'm staying in for the next several cold days and dreaming of a cruise on Dream. :happytv:

I just booked the Rainforest also. Hopefully by the time we cruise, Disney would have replaced the tiled lounge chairs that everyone seems to be complaining about.
