March '11 TR: My 21 + 5 Years Birthday At WDW!! (HOME SWEET HOME) 6/24

Your trip sounds great!!!! I must say, I'm totally jealous that you are going to Universal! I love HP and have been dying to go! Toby and I went when they were building HP land, but that was when Olivia was about 9 months old. Right now I just can't justify the cost for me to go for the day (since we have passes to Sea World, Busch Gardens and Disney), but I'm dying to go!! Can't wait to hear more details!!

Thanks!!!

It will be fun to go to Universal. I've only been there for Halloween Horror Nights and to city walk a few times to eat dinner/movies so it will be nice to actually go on some of the rides!!!

LE CELLIER!!!!!

Happy Tuesday Dis Friends!! I figured I would post tonight in honor of the steak I ate for dinner. After driving all the way to TGI Fridays, joking around talking about Benihanas instead, we ended up driving to Texas Roadhouse in the end! So in honor of my steak that I had for dinner from Texas Roadhouse..here is our Le Cellier meal!!!

FRIDAY MARCH 18, 2011

When I left off, we were exploring WS and made our way into Le Cellier. I checked in at the podium at the top of the hill and we were directed to the bottom of the hill. We got there and there was already a crowd waiting till they opened at 11:30am. There was a big group of college aged guys and gals. I looked closer and they looked like ICPs (International College Program) who were celebrating a friend's birthday. Well as they started to sing the Canadian Nat'l Anthem, they were also singing it in French so I figured they were ICPs from Canada..they were and they were LOUD. I was secretly hoping our table would not be next to them as it was HOT and I was ready to enjoy a quiet meal in a dark restaurant.

Well not only were we called first and seated but we were seated right next to the huge group..ugh! They ended up not being too loud and I'm pretty sure 90% of them worked at Le Cellier too as everyone and their brother knew them all by names. ICPs tend to stick together so even if they were Merch or another location, they'd still be pretty close.

I was pretty concerned about this but this time, unlike our last trip, I had done research. Our first time at LC was in 2005 and was a HIT. In 2007 it was the worst meal. We were rushed bc of DME leaving, we were seated by the banging kitchen door (which was 2 tables away from us this time), and I ordered poorly! This time was much like the first visit thank goodness!

Guilia was our server and she was great! She explained that we could get fruity drinks with the DDP so of course we did. Mom and Bro go Mango smoothies and I got Raspberry. Bro and I ended up switching haha.

130.jpg

The pretzel bread was to die for of course and we got 3x of it!

Of course we got the cheese soup. Bro got a bowl and mom and I got cups.

131.jpg

I can taste now!!!

All 3 of us got the Filet!

132.jpg

It was to die for but the sauce under it was pretty rich! We all devoured our filets!!!

For dessert mom and bro got the Creme Brulee and I got the chocolate moose. I got a pretty good surprise and was just fine without the singing!!

Our check was $145 and we tipped $30. The service was great, the food was great, and the atmosphere for the most part was pretty relaxing! A family next to us went nuts when their child spilled an adult beverage on dad and her but other than that drama it was a pretty quiet meal!

We of course gave it a 10/10 and would go back in a second! Not only was I lucky to get an ADR 2 weeks before the trip but was able to change the day and the time thanks to stalking on wdw.com!

We were stuffed and ready to take on the heat again. Instead of heading back to the pool, we headed to pick our pearls!!!!

Mmmmm...I love Le Cellier! I can't wait for that chocolate moose...and filet...and soup...is it October yet? :rotfl:

I had no idea they had smoothies there! I did get the red maple last time, which is kind of a raspberry smoothie mixed with sprite, I think, and it's awesome! :thumbsup2

PICK A PEARL SURPRISES!!!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY FRIENDS!!!!

Tonight is the last night before my surgery tomorrow..eek!!!

I have to be there at 7:30am and then my surgery is at 9:30am! Please pray for me :) I'm not sure when I'm going to update next but I figured I would update our Pick a Pearl and go from there!

FRIDAY MARCH 18, 2011

When we left off, we rolled out of Le Cellier and headed to Pick a Pearl in Japan. It was hot hot hot out at that point so I was more than ready to pick my pearl and go back to the pool!!!

When we got there, mom and I had to buy the pearls and then were given numbers. The pearls were $17 total for each of us but we paid separately.

After 2 other girls went, it was our turn! I had looked closely at the pearls and picked a pearl that I wasn't even looking at haha. Oh well! I was hoping for a blue one for once!!!

Mom picked hers too!

138.jpg

She opened mine first!

139.jpg

I NOT ONLY GOT ONE PEARL....I GOT TWO..

TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

140.jpg

141.jpg

I had never gotten twins before and it was such a surprise!!!!!!!

Next was mom!

Mom only got one pearl but it was a pretty good size! I was scared it wouldn't fit the necklace but since I had two, that wasn't a problem lol.

My pearls were 6.5 each and mom's was 7.25. My other 2 from other years were both 8+ which was crazy big!!!!

Before they were cleaned the CM made a surprise!

150-1.jpg

We had to sing the celebration song!!!

151-1.jpg

After we left the store we went outside to prepare the necklaces!

Mom's pearl fit very well in her necklace so Pick a Pearl was a huge success and mom loved it! It for sure is more of a show at Japan than at Typhoon Lagoon but both were still fun!

We put our necklaces on and moved towards the exit of the park!!!!

On a side note...I would for sure suggest this activity for anyone! It was pretty inexpensive and if you buy a setting prior to getting there, it's a really great value. The cage necklaces were from Ebay for around $5! I don't wear my every day but pretty often. I bought a setting for my other pearl necklace and it was over $150 when all was said and done! My ring was around $30-$40 so they aren't cheap but having the cage is a great way to save $$$ and we got so many comments that weekend!!!!!

Thanks!!!! I was so surprised!!! The don't sell the carriage at WDW but I got it on Ebay. This is the site I used but it says they are currently sold out but keep your eye on it!

We just bought them on Ebay and took them with us to Pick A Pearl. If they did sell them at WDW they wouldn't be $5 :rolleyes1 It does include the chain too!

Thanks! Day 3 and I'm in a ton of pain still and hungry but can't eat anything but popsicles and room temp chix broth. Ugh! Thank goodness for mu bb, itouch, and tv!!

Le Cellier and pick a pearl...sounds like a perfect Disney Day to me! Your pearls are beautiful and those little coaches are perfect for them.

Hope you're feeling better soon:hug:

Megan,
I am so far behind! Okay, here it goes.

CONGRATULATIONS ON PASSING THE PRAXIS!!!!! I'm so happy for you!

Hope you are feeling better soon.

TIW card. Here's my opinion. Jason and I used it the last time we went down. And the only reason I spent the money to get the card was because we were eating table service every day, so I knew the money spent to get the card would pay for itself and then some. My suggestion is figure out how much you think you'll be spending on TS and then see if spending the money on the card is worth it. Sometimes on short trips it may not be.

How awesome that you got two pearls instead of one! I have never done pick a pearl, but I'm tempted....
