March 11, 2006 - 7 Day Magic

I've decided the family is officially on vacation. I picked DS8 up from his last day of school and DH is home, so no more work or school. The school has teacher conferences scheduled the next two days, then next week is spring break for us. We're really lucky, DS8 isn't missing any school for this trip so no homework to make-up.

Official start of vacation isn't until Friday afternoon when we board the plane, but I think we'll start now. We're having friends over tonight to plan our NEXT vacation. How nuts is that? We haven't even gone on this one yet. We're taking MIL's catamaran sailing in the British Virgin Islands in June with our neighbors.

Just back from the Dr and yep DS8 also has strep. Thank god for Zinthromax!!
See everybody on Sat. I'd say just look for the coughing kid and that would be use, But it looks like there will be several Strep survivors on the trip.
Spring break here also, So no scholl will be missed.

We are living on the antibiotics here too - but dd is doing marvelously. She is back to normal.

Congrats to all of you already on vacation.... just 80 more hours of work to go for me.... it looks like some of it won't get done!

My baby is doing much better today. Thank goodness for antibiotics, and

Almost done packing. Just need dh razor and of course my flat iron and hair dryer. Went to the store yesterday to buy some 1800 "mommy and daddy juice" and bubble wrapped a couple of bottles of wine. then i put them all into those HUGE ziploc bags and stuck them in a suitcase. Now when we go to Publix, we just need to pick up our Coronas! Ive decided that im gonna watch my caloric intake for this cruise, so Im gonna be drinking Corona Light!

I was supposed to go on the field trip to Williamsburg with my ds9, However, since my ds5 just started meds yesterday afternoon, he cant go to school till Friday. Ds9 is NOT happy about that !

I hope everyone else is on the mend.

We're doing the "mommy-daddy drink" run when we cross the border, but other than that, mani/pedi tonight, throw in the toothbrushes tomorrow and we're outta here tomorrow after work...yeah!! My DH5 was incredibly unfocused at karate last night, randomly breaking into a "happy-dance" - he's so excited! I also printed off the DCL journal pages last night and put a packet together for him...what a great idea! 11 more hours of work at the office between today and tomorrow...then it's officially vaca-time

Tried to post yesterday and I kept getting error messages... it doesn't look like anyone else had problems! Let's hope this posts today!
I am in panic packing mode... just throwing stuff into suitcases.... This is probably the LEAST prepared we've ever been for a cruise! Who knows what I'll end up having to wear.... I know I threw in 4 bathing suits though so look for me in the water..
Now I've got to get some other stuff done but I'll check back later. Those of you traveling today.... safe travels!!

well...mani/pedi are done. Packing is done, except for the toothbrush...one more sleep and 6 more hours of work and we make a run for the border !!

Ill be leaving my house today around 2:00. Out flight is at 6:00 out of Norfolk. Its only about 40 min away but we have to stop by dhs work to drop of his little hand held computer thingie!! Cant wait to meet you all. Everyone here is on the mend! Dh is now on a z-pack, so hell be ready to roll by tomorrow! Safe travels to you all. Well be staying at the Hyatt tonight. Our plane comes in to MCO @ 8:05, so be on the lookout for us!! Im wearing Khaki capris and a red t shirt!!

Leslie, I was wondering if Elaine made it to you safe and sound?

We are on the countdown here. 4 1/2 more hours of work and I head home. We are flying out of Houston at 7:20 this evening arriving close to 11pm in Orlando. We too are staying at the Hyatt. I think there are a few of us staying there. Got my grant done and turned in, everyone here is feeling pretty good and my DH is going to my son's school to celebrate his birthday. They get out at 11:30, but we are here our regular hours! BOO!!

See everyone tomorrow. The weather here is cold and rainy today, so I hope the flight is smooth.

I had an awsome cruise!! Im sunburnt to a crisp. that perfect weather at Castaway cay did me in!! Enjoyed meeting all of you!!!

Spent Saturday and early today at the Magic Kingdom. We had a blast! It was fun meeting everyone. I hope everyone's time was great. Jennifer...thanks again for the tie. I was actually surprised that I didn't get too burnt. I was so covered with sunscreen everyday. The tops of my feet are the only things that REALLY suffered, and boy do they itch! Completely forgot about those!

Excited to hear about the new itenary to be announced Tuesday.
