March 10 announcement?

Actually, the first time the Magic sailed to the Mexican Riviera in 2005 they didn't release the itineraries until spring of 2004 and they didn't release summer 2008 until very late Feb / early March of 2007. So they haven't ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS released everything THAT far ahead... There is no real rule about when or how they do it.

Nope, didn't book those -- so wasn't aware of their late releases :surfweb: I think most of us have gotten spoiled by being able to have a longer time to pay off the cruise :rotfl: ;)

I am paying on a "fake" hold reservation for that reason. I still have my TA taking $x per month toward my cruise. I'll tweak the number when I have a real cost.

We were hoping for Eastern Med--but if Disney is doing New York (and we hav no desire to pay the price of a cruise to see US ports along the East Coast), we'll look elsewhere. Sorta sad about that--our kids really (and me too) really like the environment of the Magic, and the fast friends made, the service etc. But it is too expensive to see things we are not all that interested in seeing, or can do for much less on our own---I like being with Disney in foreign ports, as they make for a safe haven and allow stress-free touring.

Still seems odd that Disney would start up a fleet of four ships and then keep them all in the US.

I have sailed out of New York on many cruises. There is nothing like anywhere, especially since 9/11. Sailing by the Statue of Liberty while patriotic music is playing and seeing the NYPD anf NYFD harbor boats!! Very, Very cool!! :cool1::cool1:

And I would also like to save a few bucks on airfare!!

Does anyone think that Magic might do NY transatlantics without stopping in Europe?

I agree with all the sentiments in this post. We were really hoping for Eastern Med on the Magic next summer, and I don't understand 4 ships all in the US all year. But if they take the Magic down to Bermuda via NY, we might do that just because we've never been to Bermuda. A trip from NY up to New England and Canada doesn't appeal at all, and that would be a bummer.

I wsa hoping for an eastern Med too. We had a blast with the Med cruise last year, we want to do it again... and we were hoping for 2012. Oh well... :confused3

With all the talk about the Magic, let's not forget about the Wonder.;)
I am just as interested at where the Wonder will be for the Summer of 2012:thumbsup2

Any better insight when we might know the rest of the Magic and Wonder itineraries in 2012?

I just wanted to point out that this is one travel agency's webcast. I know a lot of people were disappointed when there wasn't a DCL announcement on 3/10. I haven't seen anything (yet) on the DCL travel agent website about any announcements regarding 2012 new itineraries. If you read what this TA is promo-ing, it is not necessarily about 2012. For people frequenting the DisBoards, there really is no "sneak peak" about anything about the Dream and the destinations listed are all 2011 destinations. Just wanted to point this out before we get too far down the road and everyone is expecting to hear 2012 info.

I saw this already, another TA did it when the Dream was just about sailing. No new information then, just an expamded version of the DCL DVD.

If it is NY, I would hope to go up the New England coast in the fall!

I would be willing to bet this is to pitch 2011 itineraries and has nothing to do with 2012. I will be watching but have no expectations.
