Marathon Weekend 2027

Thank you so much to a fellow Dis'er for helping me out and getting me in for the marathon! Eternally grateful. Would have loved to help some of you but everything stayed over an hour until pretty much everything was sold out. Debating doing a charity for the 10K or just waiting for a last minute no fundraising bib which I did a few years ago and was awesome.

Agree, I thank you to the Diser who helped me, I attempted to return the favor when my times came up but was unable to get links to those in need in time ( I would not have gotten registered without the community here)

Aww man that was rough. We still have the room booked so I guess I try to figure out a way to run still or convince spouse to cancel vacation. Not to be a little baby but I don’t want to travel for marathon weekend if I can’t do marathon weekend.

I mean its still a Disney trip? I'm going in May just for funsies for 6 days because we had airline credits that were about to expire.

Well, I figured out a surefire way to have a short queue time today. Which was to already have a charity bib, so only getting queues for others. I plan to repeat that method next year.

A few of us were talking behind the scenes, and prior to the next race weekend registration for princess, we're going to try and get a Google sheets together of everyone trying to register, who's registered, who needs a link ect. It would greatly help those of us sharing links in future, if our loopholes from this weekend aren't closed.

As a reminder, anyone who posted in this thread how to share links, please edit your posts and delete the information!

That was a wild time. I got lucky with a couple links and helped do 8 separate registrations across 3 queues. I was checked out by 10:10 with Dopey. I helped send a few queues but did not have that many overall, maybe 1/4 of my total queues were successful before things sold out.

A friend proposed this and I agree, the waiting room being open early is probably the driver. Usually people are rolling in last minute and I would imagine a ton of people don't even enter until 10 on the dot and are put in the back of the line. I'm guessing there were way more people in the waiting room this time.

yeah, we need to maybe do a "*******" to be live together via voice chat. It will be easier to share links. If someone is interested I can try to collaborate to make our own site where we can share links using WEBSOCKETS. I have some experience with this but ran out of time this year. I think this will be even more important next year because the sharing of links is super hard when there are time limits on posts/messages.

Won't help for next year but I think the stress of this is what's going to finally get me to do cRD once that opens up. Which I've been saying for the past two years I think but the difficulty of sharing links along with Safari crashing on my end is just the last straw. The only reason I got in was because a long time friend of mine was able to do it.

That was a whirlwind. Shortly after I posted my 12/12 over an hour, one switch to 42 minutes. I stopped posting and following the thread because it was game time. My sister and my sister-in-law had no windows under an hour. I got in at 10:38. From then on it was a race.

All told, I registered 8 people in 9 race categories. In this order, I registered myself for the 10k, dad for the 10k, mom for the 5k, sister-in-law for the Dopey, nephew for the Half, step-nephew for the Half, myself for the Full (got caught up in the wave), another step-nephew for the 5k and my niece for the 5k.

I have no kids and no significant other but, as far as RunDisney is concerned, I am a guardian to 4 teenagers for Marathon Weekend 2027.

Was really hoping that it all wouldn’t fall on me, but no one else would have gotten registered (with possible exception of the last two 5k) without my link.

Sorry to see that others weren’t so lucky.

Debating whether to even add a POT to my reg right now. Since I'm expecting to PR next month at Coast Guard by a decent amount. (My current marathon PR is definitely not good enough for better placement than my 1/2 PR. Which caused shenanigans with my corral last year.)

so the Safari link that I clicked on my phone with wifi turned off at 730 ish when I first got the alert that the waiting room opened remained at more than an hour with the bar maybe halfway fill when everything was sold out... just making this post for records sake

may block off princess registration day for gits and shiggles seeing as it's the weekend following gasparilla again and it's the only current weekend I've yet to do but not holding my breath....

when and where is the best place to start stalking charity bibs for Springtime Surprise 2027 cause I want to do at least one race this season and I'm begining to think that the charity route or being a club member (and than you'd still need to spend a year or two being a lowely silver member) is the only way to run anymore

There's a reason but it's related to something that happened here a few years ago, I'm kinda surprised they haven't removed the filter (unless there's some other worry regarding the app, which is fair, there's a ton of scammy stuff happening there).

4 - 10Ks
6 - 5Ks

had a different approach for data collection, I had everyone fill out a MS Form with all the runDisney data fields, that way it was an easy copy paste.
