Marathon Weekend 2026

Famous last words! :)

I probably won't be making it to the Expo until after HH so I'm on the fence right now about pre-orders. I always seem too see a lot of Goofy merch still available on Day 1 - but maybe not by Day 3....

Who knows how it will be this year considering the popularity of the themes, but last year when I went after HH there were still pins, magnets and ornaments at the expo. Also noticed plenty of clothes, but I didn't pay attention to sizes that were left.

Well - that was more stressful than I expected. I am really surprised by the sellout times this year. In for Goofy #2 (or is it #5 if I count Dopeys?) entirely because of the support of this community. Thanks to everyone who shared links and hope to see many of you in January! I hope everyone was able to get what they wanted!

Now I have to get back to some less stressful "reality" and get ready for some meetings after essentially taking the morning off.

So ridiculous how fast it sold out. I probably would not have gotten in to what I wanted if my sister didn’t get the magic draw of being one of the first in.

As I said, I don’t know how much the themes really drew the demand, but I don’t get it. I am a big book person myself, but I don’t understand signing up for races because you like a book theme. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Does anyone have a guess to sizing of the mens weekend jackets? Thinking of pre-ordering, but not sure if I should do L or XL.

Does anyone know how quickly the weekend jackets sell out? I want to be able to use my AP discount at the expo, but think it's the one piece of merch that I'll buy... the more I type the more I'm talking myself into just getting it now and avoiding of the stress of rushing for merch on the first day of the expo lol!
I think they had plenty of the weekend jacket this year. Dopey merch is what goes fast.

I kinda get it. I register for the half marathon every year but this is the most strongly I’ve ever considered Dopey. Would have done it if not for how much I hate training for a full!

Thanks @Kerry1957 and @KSellers88 for the links. They improved on my best link by 2 minutes. In the crazy rD registration world 2 minutes can sometimes make all the difference.

5k was sold out by the time I got in, but my mom was able to get her registration done as one of the final 5k registrations (she finished after 10:40 and it listed sold out at 10:43) and that was more important than mine.

Since the 5k was sold out when I finally got in, I quickly considered Dopey or adding the 10k to my marathon. In the end, I decided to stick to my plan and sign up for the Marathon and not to look to replace the unsuccessful 5k registration.

So I missed getting registered for the exact races I wanted for the first time, but it’s not a big deal. I got the one that is most important and I can never be too crestfallen about an extra day where I don’t have to wake up at 3 AM 😆.

I mean....some of us are diehard first-day-expo-shoppers who may or may not be willing to pick things up for you on Wednesday and hand them off at HH. ;)

I would buy it now unless you have CrD. There was a very limited selection when I was at the expo this year and none in my size. Pre-ordering it was a no-brainer, not worth the stress.

For me it was less the book theme than the genres themselves. I was already doing the marathon, but I added the 5k because I love space/sci-fi and it gives me an excuse to put together a Star Wars costume.

Thanks!

Not feeling it with the Men’s MW jacket drawing. Much prefer the Women’s. So likely not buying now. It’s the Goofy hoodie that I have to decide on.

So i would say in general wait to see what people say coming out of Springtime. Because rD just picked up Brooks and I am expecting that is going to impact how everything fits in terms of a quality and sizing. And sow hat was true going into previous race weekends might not be true now.

Either way give it a few weeks.

I was rather shocked at everything being sold out this quickly. Regardless of theme, I figured a non-anniversary year that is later than the extended Holiday period that this would potentially be one of the lighter registration days. I guess those don’t exist anymore for Marathon Weekend.
