I'm IN! I was able to get signed up for the Goofy. Woo-hoo!Races are showing as open now. Everything but 5K and 10K. Hope this helps someone!
For the second year in a row, I book a hotel for MW, decide not to register because the family might want to do something else with that time off and eventually cancel the hotel. Last year, that prompted me to run STS and it was so great. I canceled my hotel for MW last week and will try to register to STS, solo this time. I would be really sad of passing today’s opportunity if I don’t succeed registering for STS next week. Thank you for sharing!Races are showing as open now. Everything but 5K and 10K. I went to click on "pay" and it said that I had to select shirt size and wound up having to completely reload the page, figuring it would close in the meantime. But it stayed open much longer than expected.Goofy still open over an hour later......

I'm used to the open/closed messages within seconds.
Does anyone with more rD familiarity know what's happening here? What mechanisms are at work?
What is better than doing it once, how about twice! Of course that could easily lead to three times, four times…. What is one more early morning. You guys are a BAD influence! Just switched my marathon to Goofy. Now I’ma 5k short of Dopey, which I said was one and done. Still sticking to it!
Exactly! My first MW event four years ago was the half marathon. I said I would never do Dopey. Then three years ago, the half marathon sold out before I could register. Dopey was still open. So I said what the heck and registered. I said one and done. 2024 will be my third in a row. What is better than doing it once, how about twice! I’m sticking to my guns! The only reason I considered Goofy is because my DH is running the half and I was going to be up anyway. What is better than doing it once, how about twice! Of course that could easily lead to three times, four times…. What is one more early morning.![]()
For years, I laughed when asked if I would ever run a marathon. I even had a clause that if finishing the marathon guaranteed me an event that is never likely to happen, I would run a marathon. What is better than doing it once, how about twice! Some stuff popped open this morning, if you haven't checked again.Ugh, several times clicked the payment button but got denied. Still trying to get my wife a 10k or half bib. Might consider a charity. Anyone know if there are any available?
Not a laundry service, but we just use the laundry facilities that are near the pools. I'm assuming you know these exist, but for anyone who may not....I posted this question in the resorts forum, but figured the running group may also relate. Do you guys use any type of laundry service during MW? We are going to be at WDW for a longer stay this year. I really don't want to pack more clothes on top of my running clothes. In addition, my wife is not a fan of my running clothes sitting around afterward (even though I do put them in a garbage bag, LOL). I was hoping there is some type of laundry service that would pick up your clothes at your resort and then bring them back.
But that cuts into park time, LOL!Not a laundry service, but we just use the laundry facilities that are near the pools. I'm assuming you know these exist, but for anyone who may not....
Near (most) all of the pools there are laundry rooms. Depending on the resort they may have a small cost associated with them, and there is also a QR code so you can monitor when the machine you are using has finished its cycle. There is a vending machine in there with laundry detergent and possibly dryer sheets, but you can also bring your own detergent (I pick up or bring a few tide pods.) We usually just put all our dirty clothes into one of our suitcases and haul it down there, put a load or 2 of clothes in, and hang out at the pool while they wash/dry.
I almost always do laundry before going home. Although it does cut into park time, I try to do it when I know we will be at the resort. I am up much earlier than the rest of my crew so I could run a load before they're up. I've also done laundry during midday breaks when we are doing pool time or later at night during kids bedtime. If I remember correctly it's like 27 mins for wash and 50-some minutes for drying. I'm trying out the washer sheets this time. They look like dryer sheets but they're detergent and disintegrate in the wash. And yes, like @Herding_Cats said, you can download an app and it tells you what machines are available and how much time left.I posted this question in the resorts forum, but figured the running group may also relate.
