Marathon Weekend 2023

Our flight this morning was delayed so now we won’t be on the ground in time to sign up for the virtual queue. If anyone else on here has extra spots in their queue, I’d meet ya at the Expo whenever and would be forever grateful!

I am putting four down for the virtual queue but pretty sure my family isn't coming to it, just me.

Happy to have anyone join me whenever I get my space!

Also, so much sleeping anxiety. Woke up at 1:45 thinking I needed to be up. Then dreamed we had to dig a tunnel for the race and do all sorts of other tasks. Then up at 5:45 thinking I missed a race.

So many alarms going to be set for these races to make sure I'm up. Just going to be running on adrenaline and not much sleep, I guess.

Silly last minute expo question, because I had an anxiety dream about missing it last night I’ve heard some people have brought suitcases before, but do you foresee issues with a laptop in a backpack/tote bag? Not a reseller, just trying not to miss work hours if there’s a long bib line

I think you can sign in to the virtual queue at any point during the day.

Lots of people bring backpacks. There's not even been a security check in the past, if you're worrying about the laptop setting something off. You'll be fine.

213xx for Dopey with 4:28:30 marathon POT

Hey all,

Officially scrubbing my first Dopey. I am down with a mystery respiratory illness and sicker than I’ve ever been in my life. It’s been a week since symptoms started and I’m not making any real progress. Devastated is an understatement, particularly since where I am in life this was kind of my one shot at marathon weekend for the foreseeable future. I’ve emailed rundisney for a refund (lol) or a chance to pick up swag and medals for a chance to run this independently when I’m well. Would love to earn it one day.

Will be rooting for you all - I can’t believe this is the end of my marathon weekend journey but I’m sure there’s a lesson mixed up in all of this.

Add me to the list of race dreams-I was getting ready for the 5k and couldn’t find any of my costume pieces. When I finally did it was 6am and I couldn’t make it to the start line in time.

As piggie says in one of my daughter’s favorite books -“Waiting is not easy!”.

As an aside, does anyone know if you can arrive for your virtual queue time after the time has passed? I’m working a half day today and if for some reason I’m late I want to make sure I can still get in.

I did bring a laptop bag and did work while waiting for the queue outside for F&W. Luckily it was a beautiful to sit outside to get work done. No trouble going through any of the buildings.
