At what point do they just can it for the day? I know there are pros and cons of each choice, but I think after 2 hours (in 10 minutes) if they haven't figured out what's wrong and how to fix it, then it may be time to pull the plug and try again next week.

I guess the issue is if they think they will be able to deal with the server load tomorrow. Might be better for them to wait it out untill traffic dies down
