Marathon Weekend 2023

SAFD:
Satu’li canteen is definitely up there as one of the better counter services. We also went to Flame Tree for the first time this trip, and the ribs were a crowd favourite. Outside of the parks, we really liked the QS at the Grand.
The Nutella waffle is also a family favourite at Sleepy Hollow. Our first morning on our trip a few weeks ago, the 4 year old was being a grump from the early wake up, and that waffle cheered him right up.

SAFD: Another vote for Columbia Harbor House. Love the fish with slaw and fries! We were so upset when we went to MK back in February last year and didn't realize it wasn't open until we approached it to go eat lunch only to be told it was being used as extended queue for Peter Pan. So sad. Glad it is open again!

I'm not sure about last February, but when I was there last April, Columbia Harbour House was closed, but their menu was being served in the Tomorrowland Terrace! I only found out because I was going through the menus for all the other restaurants looking for a CHH alternative.

Yeah, I heard about that after the fact. I think they were doing it in February too, we just didn't realize unfortunately.

SAFD: Not anymore :( It used to be CHH for the hummus & veggie sandwich, but they took that away. ABC had this amazing curry vegetable dish... and that was taken away. I'll eat at DB7 because Star Wars, and it's the only QS in the park with something I find decent to eat.

Just answering to the original post. I ran the 2022 marathon and had a good run, completing my 4th Disney Marathon.
I will be taking next year off. Something to keep in mind, if they include the 2021 year, when everything needed to be
virtual, 2023 would be the 30th anniversary of the Marathon

They did hand out anniversary (25th??) luggage tags for the MW half this year - which would include the canceled 20th anniversary/running half in 2017 and the virtual half in 2021.
My guess is that they will count the virtual races from 2021 in their counts for the Marathon/Dopey.

I'm thinking about going--I haven't participated since 2017 due to medical issues, COVID, etc.--but I think we may have wiped out our DVC points this year with two visits scheduled. Have to wait and see.

SAFD: Another vote for Satuli in AK! Runner up is probably Docking Bay 7 in HS.
Used to love CHH for the Lighthouse sandwich, but they replaced it with the unappetizing Doom burger as the veg option so I haven't been back there since that happened.
Favorite resort QS is probably Captain Cook's at the Poly

SAFD:
MK: Columbia Harbor House - love the atmosphere and the diverse menu.
Epcot: Cantina de San Angel
DHS: We always stop at the Sunset Market at least once. We like the plentiful (covered) seating, selection of food options (especially if everyone feels like something different). Sometime we even just stop for an afternoon beer and snack.
AK: Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafe - Fried Rice!

Never used his Dopey plan (didn’t even know he had one), but his regular marathon plans are excellent. They’re well structured and designed to get you to the start line uninjured and ready to run.
Ive used his half and marathon plans and had great results. just wondered about the dopey plan. Thank you
